Economic consequences of China's One-child policy
Letko, Roman ; Bartůsková, Lucia (advisor) ; Pavlíček, Tomáš (referee)
The objective of this diploma thesis is to describe and to complexly evaluate Chinas one child policy from its introduction in 1979 till its abandonment in 2015. Theoretical part of thesis offers a detailed description of the policy, its application in real life, circumstances and aims that led to the implementation of the policy. Applied part of thesis analyses its effect on the fertility rate, population growth and economic growth. According to the results of this analysis one child policy helped to decline Chinas fertility rate and population growth, however its impact is just partial. The decline of Chinese population growth then contributed to the economic growth; my estimate is that it composed 40 % of average annual growth of real GDP per capita. One child policy is also responsible for raising sex ratio and ageing of population in China. These demographic problems let to its replacement by two child policy that probably wont solve these problems.

Semiaquatic bugs as predators and prey and their use in natural history teaching
JANDA, Václav
The aim of this thesis is to create an overview of scientific findings about the prey and the predators of the representatives of infraorder Gerromorpha, their feeding habits and defence strategies against predators. Gerromorphans are adapted for life on the surface of various water bodies ranging from puddles to open ocean. Majority of water striders feed on insect fallen upon water surface, hatching larvae of aquatic insect or micro-crustacean. Gerromorphans locate their prey by sight and by sensory detection of ripples at water surface caused by prey. Gathering in schools turned out to be an efficient defence strategy against predators. Some species have compound eyes with specialized ommatidia which enable them to see prey on the surface as well as predator under surface. A proposal of the use of Gerromorpha in natural history teaching is part of this thesis. Gerromorphans are convenient for teaching of natural history thanks to the possibility of observation of piercing and sucking mouthparts and various food relations such as predation, cannibalism or kleptobiotic relation. Undemanding rearing of gerromorphans enables easy realization of experiments and observations under school conditions.

Healthy minipigs (n=29) were pre-screened for serum AAV5 neutralizing antibodies (NABs) in serum by uniQure. Conclusions: Intrastriatal/intrathalamic bilateral application of AAV5-CAG-miHtt(3e13/1e13gctotal) or PBS/Sucrose (54μl/216μl) similarly to AA5-CAG-GFP didn´t cause any neurological deficit in transgenic as well as wild type animals. The body weight increased in all animals 84 days after AAV5-CAG-miHtt/PBS-Sucroseintrastriatal/intrathalamic delivery with two exceptions TGanimal L616 (AAV5-CAG-miHtt1e 13g ctotal) and WTanimal L485 (AAV5-CAG-miHtt3e13gc total). The TG boar N176 from group VII (PBS/Sucrose) died during narcosis 56 days after IP/IT application), shortly after CSF and blood collection. The boar breathed heavily and intermittently, then the heart stopped beat and resuscitation failed. We immediately flushed them by 20 L of PBS with heparin and collect all tissues. All animals had normal food consumption. Inflammatory proces in AAV5-CAG-miHtt (1e13 gc total) seems to be similar to PBS/Sucrose injected animals accompanied with no detectable histological pathologies.

Possibilities of UCP2 (uncoupling protein 2) induction in rat hepatocytes in in vivo conditions
Bolehovská, Radka ; Červinková, Zuzana (advisor) ; Kalous, Martin (referee) ; Novotný, Dalibor (referee)
Possibilities of UCP2 (uncoupling protein 2) induction in rat hepatocytes in in vivo conditions Introduction Uncoupling protein 2, discovered in 1997, is the first described homologue of uncoupling protein 1. Uncoupling proteins increase the permeability of inner mitochondrial membrane for protons, decrease the efficiency of energy conversion, inhibit the ATP synthesis and stimulate energy release in form of heat. Uncoupling proteins also increase the substrate oxidation and reduce production of reactive oxygen species in mitochondria. Objective, material and method The aim of this study was to establish and optimised the quntitative real-time PCR for detection of UCP2 mRNA expression kinetics in rat liver tissue. The present study was conducted to assess the effects of acute and chronic treatment with triiodothyronine and the effect of partial hepatectomy on liver uncoupling protein 2 mRNA levels in male Wistar rats. Results Intraperitoneal injection of one dose of triiodothyronine (200 μg/kg rat body weight) increased mRNA expression of uncoupling protein 2 in liver tissue almost 2-fold (P < 0.01 vs. control group) in rats 12 hours after T3 administration. Concentrations of total triiodothyronine and free triiodothyronine in serum were increased 122-fold and 77-fold (p < 0.001), respectively....

Changes to the contents of proline and relative electrolyte leakage of the selected genotypes of poppies depending on the influence by low temperature
Kudrna, Jiří ; Hnilička, František (advisor) ; Orsák, Matyáš (referee)
The object of this thesis is to study the effect of low temperatures, proline content and relative elektrolyte leakage in a selected range of varieties of opium poppy. Experiment included 18 poppy varieties with different contents of morphine. Poppy seeds for this experiment were provided by GB Oseva Pro s r.o., o.z.VÚO Opava a Český mák s.r.o. Poppy seeds were sown in containers of a size of 7,5x7,5 cm. Used cultivation medium is mixture of garden substrate A with quartz sand in a ratio of 2: 1. Plants were grown under controlled conditions in grow chamber Conviron E8. Before starting the experiment, the temperature was at 10 ° C during day and 5 ° C over night. Light cycle was 13 hours light and 11 hours darkness. The maximum value of irradiance was 800 micromol. The experiment was initiated in phase of rosette develoment. At this developmental stage were the plants exposed to frost temperatures (-5 ° C) over night and chill temperatures (10 ° C) duringthe day. After a week the plants were regenerated for 1 week at 5 ° C over night and 10 C during the day. All tested plants were in two day intervals measured of proline concentration after exposure to low temperature stress. At the same intervals as proline, were measured the values of relative elektrolyte leakage (Rel%).The obtained results show that the influence of low temperature causes increase of proline level. Control winter-crop variety Zeno exhibited the high kontent of proline (693.33 microg.g -1) in comparison with the spring poppy varieties. After regeneration were afected varieties Lazur, Opal, Buddha, Korneuburger Weisser, Aplaus, Major, Sokol, Zeno reduced the content of proline under the influence of higher temperatures. On the other hand the varieties Ofeus, Tatranský, Opex, Orbis, Maraton, Florián, Marianne and Albin were reversed with an increase of proline level. Proline concentration levels were constant and unchanged in case of varietes Postomi and Akvarel. Values of relative elektrolyte leakage were increased proportionately with length of exposure to low temperatures on the tested plants. The lowest value of membrane damage was after exposure to low temperatures observed in case of variety Zeno (23.53%). In the case of spring varieties was lowest membráně damage estimated in a variety Korneuburger Weisser (44.88%), while the highest was in the variety Orfeus (53.15%). It demonstrated the different responses of individual poppy varieties at low temperature. Most sensitive to low temperature were varieties Orfeus, Postomi, Akvarel, Orbis, Sokol and Marianne. As less sensitive to stress caused by low temperature seems to be spring varieties Opex, Buddha, Korneuburger Weisser, Albín.

Model of the reactor chamber for microwave heating
Kříž, Tomáš ; Fiala, Pavel (referee) ; Kroutilová, Eva (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the concept of a high-frequency chamber which serves for desiccation of emulsion consisted of oil and water where the contents of water is over 30% of the emulsion capacity. The high-frequency chamber works on frequency 2,45 GHz. The task was to design a numerical model in which a high-frequency thermic conjugated problem is solved. The design of a high-frequency chamber is made up considering the heat distribution in inhomogeneous environment as well as chemical and physical changes. The proportions of the high-frequency chamber can guarantee the biggest output transmitted from the source to the chamber with the emulsion desiccated and uniform layout of electromagnetic field. These criteria are necessary for smooth heating of the emulsion desiccated. In this diploma thesis, there were several numerical models with various proportions made up. Finally, the one with the shortest time of heating the emulsion in reference to emulsion capacity was chosen.

Modelling of oxygen-enhanced combustion process
Naď, Martin ; Juřena, Tomáš (referee) ; Bělohradský, Petr (advisor)
The main purpose of the master´s thesis is the experimental study and the mathematical modelling of the combustion process in which the combustion air is enriched with the high-purity oxygen, i.e. the oxygen content is more than 21 %. This combustion technology is called as the oxygen-enhanced combustion (OEC). Since the experimental work required the manipulation with the pure oxygen, a part of the thesis is focused on risks and necessary safety associated therewith. The detailed description of the combustion chamber as well as of the components necessary for the operation of OEC is included. The main part of the thesis is the computational model of the combustion chamber and the simulation of OEC using CFD methods. The numerical results were then compared with the experimental data acquired during the combustion tests, namely the heat flux distribution along the combustion chamber and the distribution of in-flame temperatures in the horizontal symmetry plane of the chamber.

Nováková, Denisa ; MRÁZKOVÁ, Giedre (advisor) ; SPURNÝ, Vojtěch (referee)
Master's graduatinon thesis Harpsichord-Basso continuo and obligate instrument in chamber music by J.S.Bach (focusing on sonatas for violin and harpsichord) deals mainly with 17th and 18th century. The content of the thesis is divided into three main chapters, which are further divided into sub-chapters, accompanied by footnotes and the note annexex at the end of the thesis. The first chapter outlines the role of the harpsichord in the play basso continuo. The second chapter deals with the transformation of basso continuo parts to obbligato parts from German authors of the 18th century. The third chapter analyzes the topic of the harpsichord concerto as instruments in the violin sonatas by Bach and explains the Bach Sonata in E Major for obbligato harpsichord and violin (BWV 1016) which I played at the master´s concert. The final chapter is a summary of the previous chapters.
