Translating as a component of Pavla Moudrá's writing
Dolečková, Leona ; Heczková, Libuše (referee) ; Kalivodová, Eva (advisor)
This thesis concentrates on three areas in which Pavla Moudrá attained her cultural objectives, namely in the context of public activity, journalism and translation. Although the scope of the thematic areas to which Moudrá devoted herself during her life was relatively wide, it is possible to identify a number of areas which may be considered as being of fundamental importance for her, and which are also reflected most clearly in her writings and translations - spiritualism, the social position of women, the peace movement, the protection of nature and animals and the education of children and young people. In these Moudrá was engaged first and foremost as a conscious propagator of spiritual values, in particular on the basis of the ideas of the theosophical movement, which especially at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century became a domain for women and their public activities.

Clothing as an identity Game
Brožová, Marie ; Hůla, Zdenek (advisor) ; Skarlantová, Jana (referee)
This is a theoretical study, topics presented here are reflected and expanded in a didactic project, an art project and an artwork. The study looks into the topic of clothing in relation to corporeality and social identity of an individual and its role in today's both Czech and (more widely) Euro-American majority society. The influence of mass media on an individual and the society is fundamental to understanding of current social role and changing symbolism of clothing. An insight into cultural history (changing value system and transforming attitude to the appearance care) is necessary to get an overall view of the problem.

Preparation and testing of capillary packed column sephadex G-10
Tolasz, Jakub ; Sobotníková, Jana (referee) ; Coufal, Pavel (advisor)
Sephadex is a common sorbent in biochemistry for separation of molecules of a wide range of molecular masses. Sephadex is also used for purification or desalination of isolated proteins. Up to now, the gel chromatography has been performed in wide separation columns. Therefore, the isolation techniques for proteins had to be very effective to isolate enough proteins as a sufficient amount of the sample. The preparation and application of a capillary separation column packed with sephadex could decrease the needed sample amount and enable work with hardly isolable proteins obtained only in small quantities. In this bachelor project, the capillary column was packed with sephadex using the slurry packing procedure. The principle of monolithic columns was used to create a gel in the column. The column was packed in organic solvent firs, and then hydrated when flushing with water to generate the gel.

The contents of the antenatal preparation courses, focused on the preparation for breast-feeding
Protivová, Iva ; Schneidrová, Dagmar (advisor)
New facts and the results of many studies point to the irreplaceable benefits breast milk and breastfeeding. Breastfeeding is not only natural nutrition, immunological, social and economic comfort for baby and mother, but contributes also to the emergence and deepening psychological bond that develops between mother and child. (1,2,3,6,7,8,10,18,20) Why in the 60s and 70s of the last century occurred in The United States and Europe, the rapid shift away from breastfeeding stems from technological development and the development of science in the twentieth century. Artificial nutrition the bottle was prepared in the laboratory and precisely monitored and controlled as to the content. It was presented as the hygienic and health A full nutrition. Breastfeeding appeared to be unscientific, low technology. When monitoring of weight and growth in children artificially fed children have won at based on which standards have been set. Children breastfed these standards and did not meet their nutrition was considered poor. At this time, decreased child mortality, as improved social conditions and health care, attributing it but modern artificial formulas. This deviation from breastfeeding was stopped due to various initiatives and groups to promote health, Today is a look at breastfeeding as the optimal source of...

Physiotherapy for children threatened by the developing CP in the 1 year of life
ŠPIKOVÁ, Alžběta
In my bachelor thesis I have dealt with the problematic therapy of children with cerebral palsy. The aim has been defined as a presentation of therapeutic methods used at children endangered by cerebral palsy in the first year of life and the determination of the time aspect of the therapy. In the theoretical part I have dealt with the topic of psychomotor development of a child and the facts related to coming down with cerebral palsy, that includes its definition, causes of development, types and diagnosis. Since the most widely used method in the Czech Republic for children with cerebral palsy is Vojta´s reflex locomotion, the aim of the research part was to present this method in more detail and to find out experience with its use. The respondents were represented by 28 parents of children afflicted by cerebral palsy, who are treated in special diagnostic Center. This part of the work is methodologically based on the principles of qualitative research. Inquiry method has been used, employing semi-structured interview. The answers to questions demonstrate that an early diagnosis of the disease and an immediate institution of treatment is the main necessary condition for reaching optimal outcomes of the treatment. According to the research, the efficiency of the treatment also depends on its frequency, the expert guidance of professional physiotherapists for parents, their comprehension and conviction that the therapy will be successful. The investigation further showed that parents of children with cerebral palsy tried other therapeutic methods than Vojta´s reflex locomotion, but for lack of cooperation of the child, negligible results of other therapies or poor availability of their parents completed the application. The research findings also showed that improvement, which in practice Vojta´s reflex locomotion in their children diagnosed with cerebral palsy occurs, the main reason for this therapeutic method remain and will continue to apply.

State and party support was the key influence, especially Nikolai Krylenko, feared state prosecutor, who was in charge of Soviet chess organization for most of the inter-war period, played very important role. Thanks to this support Soviet chess-players could maintain quite wide international contacts, which was unique compared to other Soviet sports in that time. Second chapter shows the connections between chess and politics on the example of M. Botvinnik. It introduces his correspondence with CC RCP(b)/CPSU and examines two cases in detail: the discussion about possible match Botvinnik - Aljechin (1948) and Botvinnik's letters to CC CPSU secretary Pospelov on political topics (1954). Petrification of military memory versus piety: Military monuments and mass graves in their historical operation
Kessler, Vojtěch
The text deals with the reception of military monuments, found on the territory of the Czech Republic, which are related to the war events from 1757 to 1866. The memorials can be understood as specific memory locations, whose so-called second life modifies the historical awareness of the relevant military events. War memorials constitute a relatively wide range: from the purely military, celebratory monuments, which are found mostly on elevated dominant locations of battlefields, to reverential memorials with graves or even mass graves.

Mass Spectrometry Imaging of Metformin in Tissue Sections
Strnad, Štěpán ; Sýkora, D. ; Vrkoslav, Vladimír ; Cvačka, Josef ; Maletínská, Lenka ; Pirník, Zdenko
Mass spectrometry imaging is a powerful technique suitable for visualization of the distribution of a wide variety of compounds within tissue sections. The main aim of the study was the development and optimization of a sample preparation procedure allowing determination of the distribution of orally dosed metformin in mice kidney sections. Metformin is the first-line medication for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. The optimization of the sample preparation step before imaging experiments included the selection of a suitable matrix and the optimization of various parameters of MALDI analysis. 2,5-dihydroxybenzoic acid was identified as the best matrix providing highest sensitivity. A sublimation method was successfully used for the matrix deposition. The highest relative concentration of metformin was found in the inner zone of kidney 30 minutes after the drug administration.
