Specific Shape of the Flow-volume Loop in Patients with Sleep Apnea-pypopnea Syndrome Depending on Oropharyngeal Diagnosis
Drobníčková, Martina ; Špunda, Miloslav (advisor) ; Šonka, Karel (referee)
The theme is a testing of dependency of specific shape of the flow-volume loop in patients with sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome on the oropharyngeal diagnosis. The work consists of 5 parts: introduction, the theoretical part, practical part, discussion and conclusion. The basic group was a group of 45 patients with specific curve. This specific curve is characterized by saw like dents in the aspiration part of the curve. As a control group, I selected 45 patients with the curve, which characterizes obstructive ventilation failure. This curve is flat in both of the respiratory periods. For all 90 patients to assessed anatomical abnormalities in oropharyng. The evaluation is subjective. This data I transferred this data, and I analysed them by the multidimensional statistical method. On the basis of discriminatory analysis, I found that it is not possible to differentiate the patients, that won't have the specific curve or not according to the 18 variables , which monitor the abnormalities of the upper airway. Classification error is 60%. In its application to the original sample of 90 patients, 45 patients would'be wrong classified, which is unacceptable. It can therefore be noted that only the testing of the anatomical abnormalities is not sufficient for making the decision, whether the patients will or won't...

Economic and social aspects of overindebtedness of households in Czech Republic after 2000
Švec, František ; Jílek, Josef (advisor) ; Řežábek, Pavel (referee)
The thesis deals with the issue of excessive debt of households. In the first part the analysis of development of indebtedness of households was made and it was found out, that consumer loans are the most risky. Consumer loans are associated with the highest ratio of defaulting loans and are the leading cause of bankruptcies of individuals in the Czech Republic. The following chapter analyzes institutional environment of credit market and detects current weaknesses. These weaknesses consist in insufficient oversight of nonbank provider of consumer loans, absence of upper limit of annual percentage rate for consumer credit and credit availability to risk groups of households. Another cause of overindebtedness of households is insufficient financial literacy in Czech Republic. The reduced consumption has been identified as the most significant impact of overindebtedness of households. It is caused by transferring funds from households with a higher propensity to consume to households with a lower propensity to consume. Lower household consumption leads also to lower government revenue collected through the value added tax. Another economic impact we can see for example in increasing poverty of households, increasing criminality, higher government spending on health care or potential political radicalization. The thesis results are proposals of legislative measures that would mitigate the economic impact of overindebtedness of households. These measures lie primarily in the regulation of consumer credit market and greater consumer protection. The specific options are an extension of supervision by the Czech National Bank on nonbank providers of consumer loans, determining the upper limit of annual percentage rate, more thorough application of the legal obligation to examine the ability of borrowers to repay loans. Another option is to reduce the limit of 30 % of paid-up commitments in insolvency law.

Muscles groups participation in crawl stroke during a recovery phase
Požgayová, Šárka ; Jurák, Daniel (advisor) ; Čechovská, Irena (referee)
1. ABSTRACT AND KEY WORDS Thema: Using EMG for comparing correct technic of upper limb recovery phase in the front crawl. Introduction: Our measurement is aimed to detect influence of muscles activity of the shoulder joint and back during the upper limb recovery phase in the front crawl. Monitoring and recording muscles activity by EMG inform about movement stereotype of our probands. We've tried to localized uncorrect activation oppossite to optima! muscle activity of (ex) competitive swimmer. Results of measuremens are used for correction of faulty upper limb recovery stereotype. Results should enlarged knowledge about technic of recovery and help in way of teaching both competitive and noncompetive swimmers, like students of FTVS UK (Fakulty of phyzical education and sport at The Charles University in Prague), which learns to swim in the age of adulthood. Protocol and measurements: Muscles were selected acording recommendation of leader of my diploma dissertation Mgr. Daniel Jurák. The ]ocations of the electrodes on the body were chosen acording to the recommendation of MUDr. David Pánek. Groups of muscles round shoulder joint were measured using EMG during the upper limb recovery phase in the front crawl. The EMG is synchronized with videorecorder. Both videorecord and EMG rneasurernent were analysed by...

The modification of spasticity and functional abilities of patients with infantile cerebral palsy by selective dorsal rhisotomy
Vašíčková, Hana ; Kraus, Josef (advisor) ; Zounková, Irena (referee)
Selective dorsal rhizotomy is a neurosurgical procedure for treating carefully selected patients with cerebral palsy. The aims of this thesis are to assess the influence of this treatment on changes in spasticity, functional abilities, locomotion and activities of daily living of these patients and also to assess the changes in these parameters in patients who were treated using this method at the neurosurgical department in University Hospital Motol in previous years. Six patients with CP diagnosis were tested - five 6 to 21 years old boys and one 35 years old woman. Ashworth and modified Ashworth scales were used to assess spasticity, goniometry was used to measure the range of passive movements. The Barthel index and Global care impairment scale by Dressler tested activities of daily living. Penn Spasm Frequency Score and Peacock's scale of locomotion were also used. The results showed a reduction in spasticity in lower as well as upper extremities, an increased range of passive movement of lower extremities, reduction of clonus the tendon of Achilles and an improvement of speech. Decreased pain and improved ability to perform activities of daily living were noted and hygienic care of a child was made easier thanks to this treatment. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Two-point discrimination in patients with chronic vertebrogenic disorders
Homolka, Pavel ; Kolář, Pavel (advisor) ; Čech, Zdeněk (referee)
The graduation theses called "Discriminatory sensation of the patients suffering from chronic vertebrogenic complaints" disserts on experimental attestation of empirical evidences based on diagnostics and therapeutics of the patients suffering from chronic vertebrogenic complaints. There was experimental measurement based on a two - point discrimination method done with two groups of probands. In the first group of probands nobody suffered from the chronic back pain, eventually occipital joints. As far as the second group of probands concerns the structural changes were diagnosed in the axial skeleton area as well as changes of a functional character which caused long- term pain. The objective of the theses is to verify the validity of the empirical evidences, sum up a quality of the stereognostic functions (senses) of 20 individuals in chronic pain and 20 healthy individuals. The quality of the stereognostic functions (senses) was evaluated by measurement based on a two-point discrimination, on 8 spots of the human body, acrally and radikulary in dermatome C7 and L5. It is because roots of peripheral nerves are the most damaged nerves within upper and lower limbs in terms of vertebrogenic disorders. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Natural regeneration of beech stands as the upper limits of its expansion in the western Krkonoše Mts.
Petráňová, Agáta ; Vacek, Stanislav (advisor) ; Otakar, Otakar (referee)
This thesis is about natural regeneration of beech stands in the western Krkonoše Mountains. It is focused on the I. zone area of the Krkonoše National Par. The measuring and data collection took place on three permanent research plots in the Horní Mísečky area. All individuals of natural regeneration with the diameter of the stem smaller than 4 cm were taken into account. The stands are diverse according to the structure and also according to the species. The stadium of regrowth is on the research plots represented mainly by younger individuals of the beech regeneration. This stadium overlaps the stadium of decline.

Craniofacial Abnormalities in Sleep Apnoea Syndrome
Dostálová, Simona ; Šonka, Karel (advisor) ; Čáp, Jan (referee) ; Peterka, Miroslav (referee)
The thesis is based on a series of cephalometric studies of patients with SAS, acromegalic patients with or without SAS as well as control groups. The studies presented in this thesis produce following results: There are important differences in orofacial skeleton and soft tissue of nasopharynx measured by cephalometry in the patients with sleep apnoea compared to the control group of women and men. Proved skeleton changes (increased lower gonion angle, increased anterior facial heights, decreased depth of the upper face) and elongated soft palate predisposes patients to narrowing of upper airways in oropharyngx, which significantly contributes to development of SAS. Cephalometric differences in the size of the soft palate, the rotation of the mandible and the size of lower gonion angle can be found in men with mild and severe sleep apnoea. We conclude that the severity of the SAS depends on the degree of changes in the orofacial skeleton and adjacent soft tissues. The results, which reveal a significant differences in BMI and in the circumference of the neck between groups with mild and severe SAS, confirm the idea that the most important predisposing factor for SAS is obesity, in particular deposition of adipose tissue in the posteriolateral parapharyngeal space. Patients with acromegaly (of both sexes)...
