The interaction of continual and synthetic jets
Broučková, Zuzana ; Trávníček, Zdeněk ; Šafařík, Pavel
This work deals with an interaction of continual and cross synthetic jets. Both jets are axisymmetric. All measurements have been performed in air by means of the Pitot tube and hot-wire anemometry. Flow visualization has been also performed. The possibility of flow control is shown and quantified. For the moderate momentum ratio, the mean jet deflection reasonably agrees with the momentum conservation.

Virtual Image of the Czech Sports via Unstructured Data Analysis
Levý, Jan ; Jelínek, Ivan (advisor) ; Profousová, Lenka (referee)
Analysis of unstructured data from social media is an important and constantly growing part of information technologies' application in the marketing context. The aims of this bachelors' thesis include creating a trial platform for the analysis of un-structured data from Facebook, research and application of suitable methods and metrics for the analysis, summarizing the analysis' findings and visualisation of selected metrics by means of a dashboard. The thesis' structure corresponds to the methods used for metting the aims set and compo-ses of seven parts. The first part summarizes motives for social media analysis, deals with the approach to the topic in the contemporary scientific papers and discusses comercial tools that could be used for such analysis. The second part describes gathering of data with a crawler, setting the connection and getting the access rights to the data sources. The structure of downloaded documents and appropriate choice of data sources is also described in this part. The third part adresses the tools used for the analysis, namely Elas-ticsearch and Kibana. The fourth part defines possible questions that may be asked in the context of Czech sports image on Facebook. The fifth part identifies the metrics necessary for the questions assesment and describes corresponding data selection. The sixth part completes the analysis itself and summarizes its findnings. The seventh part describes Ki-bana's dashboard use for effective summarizing of selected metrics. The main bachelors' thesis contribution lies in the illustration of social media analysis pos-sibilities on the example of Czech sportsmen and Czech sports in general on Facebook. A crawler has been used to gather the data for the purpose of the analysis. The other em-ployed tools included Elasticsearch and Kibana, which have enabled the data selection and visualisation. The analytical approach consisted of four parts; definition of analytical que-stions, definition of methods and metrics to find answers to these questions, followed by the analysis itself and the summary of results. The following points belong to the analysis' findnings: identification of sportsman with the highest marketing potential, comparison of analysed sports according to the perceived image by fans and desgination of the pages with most interacting followers.

Children attachment to adult care providers in children homes - analysis of conditions and possibilities
Esterková, Manuela ; Matoušek, Oldřich (advisor) ; Pazlarová, Hana (referee)
The thesis tries to find the answer to the basic question: "What are the possible ways to strengthen attachment between children at the age from 9 to 18 months and their caregivers at the facilities of institutional care, nurses in particular?" The work also aspires to map the external conditions influencing formation of the attachment. In order to explain the topic, some theoretical findings of developmental psychology, attachment theory and information about the system of institutional care in the Czech Republic have been presented here. The answers concerning the strongest factors of attachment behavior and different attachment of one child to various caregivers and vice versa were being sought with the help of the method of an involved observation of the interaction child-caregiver during specific activities of feeding and bathing. Pieces of information about external influences of the attachment behavior and the possibilities to nurture it were being gathered by the method of semi-structural interview with the caregivers and the directors of the visited institutions. The activities of feeding and bathing, which were being observed, have been split into individual elements of attachment behavior (on the side of a child: visual attention, vocal reactions, smile and stretching arms towards the caregiver;...

Interactive visualization of XML schemas in internet browser using client's XSLT
Kačina, Peter ; Kosek, Jiří (advisor) ; Dudáš, Marek (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focusing on design and implementation of prototype application, which will be used for transformation from W3C XML schema to visual form in SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) format. Visualized schema will made easier to understand it and it will be possible to use it as a part of documentation to XML files. It could be also used by developers which will develop XML documents according to the schemas. Visualized form will interpret structure of the document and will provide information about its parts -- elements, complex types and attributes. The goal of the thesis is to create a tool, which will generate interactive graphic in browser with the help of clients XSLT processor -- Saxon CE. In the beginning in the thesis are described used technologies and its way of use in this prototype application. Further in the thesis is described design of graphic model and algorithm and also described how the interactivity is functioning. In description of graphic model are shown pictures of graphic interpretations of each structure mentioned hereinbefore. In following chapter is the algorithm, which main responsibility is to mine data from the source XML document and ensuring of interactivity, described in more detail. Practical output is prototype XSLT transformation, which with the help of clients XSLT processor Saxon CE will transform any W3C XML schema into graphic representation.

High-Quality Shadow Rendering from Complex Light Sources

Volume Visualization of Human Skulls
Hrinčár, Vladimír ; Pelikán, Josef (referee) ; Maršálek, Lukáš (advisor)
Volume visualization is an important tool for exploration and understanding of complex 3D scientiffic data, as those acquired for example by CT scanning. Recent advancements in hardware and software renewal interest in interactive, high-quality volume rendering as it now becomes feasible even on desktop computers. In this work we present new application designed for visualization of CT scans of human skulls. We focus on image quality and add new features for skull comparison and di®erence visualization. Our solution is based on .NET application, which provides user interface(GUI) and external volume renderer as dynamic link library. We have implemented complex renderer for high-quality isosurfaces using algorithms based on interactive ray-marching methods including self shadowing and transparency. We also add support for multiple volumes and introduce new rendering modes for difference visualization. In addition our system uses NVidia CUDA technology, showing how to harness the power of modern GPUs for accelerating this complex task. Our results show that we are able to deliver interactive visualization tool, which can greatly help in areas like anthropological research.

Distribution of CD46 and β1 integrin molecules with respect to different membrane structures of the sperm head
Šebková, Nataša ; Frolíková, Michaela ; Děd, Lukáš ; Dvořáková-Hortová, Kateřina
CD46 protein plays an important role during fertilization and its role is associated with acrosome stability. CD46 is probably involved in signalling pathways triggering the acrosome reaction (AR). It also associates through membrane integrins with specific MAP kinases involved in the AR. Our aim was to monitor the dynamics of relocation of CD46 and β1 integrin during sperm maturation and its preparation for the fertilization. The dependence of this localization changes on the dynamic of actin cytoskeleton was studied. Our results show the changes in the localization of these proteins associated with the AR and their co-localization was observed using proximity ligation assay. After the AR CD46 and β1 integrin spreads across the sperm head, entering the post-acrosomal compartment, and permeates the borders of different domains. It was shown previously that actin dynamics is necessary for acrosome reaction-associated translocation of Izumo1 protein that is required for sperm-egg fusion. Therefore Latrunculin A was used during sperm incubation. The co-incubation of capacitated sperm with Latrunculin A leads to a decrease of the percentages of sperm, which express relocation pattern after induced AR. 3D models and visualizations of potential membrane processes responsible for the relocation of proteins from the acrosomal area to the other compartments of the sperm head were prepared. Our results deliver new information that proteins CD46 and β1 integrin undergo dynamic relocation towards the sites of sperm-egg fusion during the AR in vitro. The inhibitor of actin dynamics abrogates significantly the AR-associated changes in proteins localization. We speculate that this relocation is of importance for the successful sperm-egg interaction, adhesion and subsequent gamete fusion.

Numerical simulation of pronunciation of vowels based on FE models of human supraglottal acoustic spaces
Krampera, P. ; Horáček, Jaromír ; Dedouch, K. ; Vampola, T.
Aproximate finite element models of acoustic spaces corresponding to the human vocal tract for English vowels /a/ and /i/, created according to the geometrical data published in the literature, are used for the numerical simulations. The pronunciation of the vowels /a/ and /i/ is simulated using transient analysis for the FE models. The pulse excitation of the vocal tract is realised by the time dependent displacement of a small circular plate moving at the position of the vocal folds.
