The connection between the principle of the least action and the thermodynamic condition of stability
Maršík, František ; Trávníček, Zdeněk ; Antošová, Zuzana
The extended principle is formulated for a material point (M.P.) X, which has nonzero mass, temperature, and trajectory x(X,t). The Lagrangian of this variation principle is equal to the kinetic energy from which, the internal energy of the material point (which depends on the entropy) and the additional energy caused by the frictional force are subtracted. The relation between the inertial force and the entropy gradient is found and the gravitational force is completely replaced by the entropy gradient. Thanks to the mentioned properties of the total enthalpy, the Thermodynamic criterion of stability of the state of M.P., is formulated.
Annular Impinging Jets and an Active Control of Hysteretic Effects
Devani, Yogendrasasidhar ; Antošová, Zuzana ; Trávníček, Zdeněk
An annular impinging air jet with and without flow control was studied experimentally using measurements of the wall pressure and flow velocity by the Pitot probe. To investigate flow control swirling effects, eight synthetic jets were generated from the nozzle center body. The experiments cover Reynolds numbers 4000–10,000 (evaluated from the outer exit diameter of the annular nozzle). For Re<9000, the bistability and hysteresis were identified and two different flow field patterns (A, B) were found under the same boundary conditions. For higher Re>9000, the hysteresis were not found.
Annular impinging jets and an active control of hysteretic effects

An annular air jet with and without flow control was studied experimentally using flow visualization and measurements of the wall pressure and flow velocity by the Pitot and Prandtl probes and the hot-wire anemometer. To investigate flow control swirling effects, eight synthetic jets were generated from the annular nozzle center body. The experiments cover Reynolds numbers 4000–10000 (evaluated from the outer exit diameter of the annular nozzle). For Re<9000, the bistability and hysteresis were identified and two different flow field patterns (A and B) were found under the same boundary conditions. For A pattern, a small recirculation area (bubble) of separated flow is attached to the nozzle center body. For B pattern, a large recirculation area of separated flow bridges entire nozzle-to-wall distance. For higher Re > 9000, the bistability and hysteresis were not found.Flow control swirling effects causes suppression of the hysteresis. Moreover, weak flow control causes that the entire annular jet is forced into a precessing motion.
Study of the Celakovice bypass
Hněvsa, Filip ; Trávníček, Zdeněk (referee) ; Kosňovský, Michal (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor thesis is the study of the bypass in the town of Čelákovice. The reason for building this bypass is to divert transit traffic, improve air quality in Mochovská and Masarykova streets in this town. The new road that runs along the city is designed with a category width of S9,5 / 90. For reasons of safety and fluidity, there was a crossing with special-purpose roads in the variants, and relocations were also introduced to connect the existing road to the bypass. In this study, 6 variants were created, of which two variants were processed in more detail.
Ligand design for medicinal applications
Paúrová, Monika ; Kotek, Jan (advisor) ; Trávníček, Zdeněk (referee) ; Řezanka, Pavel (referee)
In recent years, copper radioisotopes have been extensively studied for their suitable coordination and physical properties. Nuclides 61 Cu, 64 Cu and 67 Cu are used in nuclear medicine - in diagnostic as well as in therapeutic applications. The aim of the Thesis is a study of the coordination properties of divalent copper as a stepping stone for the next potential applications. The presented Thesis consists of two thematic parts. The first part deals with the synthesis of cyclam derivatives. Sixteen new macrocyclic ligands with different phosphorus acid coordinating pendant arms (phosphinate, phosphonate, germinal P-C-P) were prepared; an analogous ligand endowed by carboxylic acid pendant arm as well as tetramethylcyclam without coordinating arm were prepared for comparison. The influence of the nature of coordinating acid pendant arms on selectivity and on the rate of copper(II) complexation was studied in detail. The protonation constants of the free ligands and the stability constants of the complexes with selected transition metal ions were determined by potentiometric titrations and by 1 H and 31 P NMR spectroscopy. Kinetic properties - i.e. studies of the formation rate and kinetic inertness of the copper(II) complexes - were performed by UV-Vis spectroscopy. The formation kinetics of the selected...
Synthetic Jet Characteristic Velocity Estimated nn The Basis of Momentum Flux Measurement
Kordík, Jozef ; Trávníček, Zdeněk
The paper compares two methods of evaluation of synthetic jet characteristic velocity. The first method of the characteristic velocity estimation is based on a simple measurement of the synthetic jet momentum flux (the jet thrust) by means of precision scales. The second method is a standard one, it is based on spatial-temporal integration of the velocity profile at the synthetic jet actuator nozzle exit. The velocity profile was obtained here using hotwire measurements in air. Comparison of the methods is based on dimensionless stroke length of the synthetic jet. It is confirmed that the results of both methods are nearly the same for higher dimensionless stroke length. On the other hand, if the jet regime approaches to the synthetic jet criterion threshold (i.e. to the dimensionless stroke length of 0.5) the results of both methods diverge. Using the current results a correction is suggested for the momentum-flux-based method to match the standard one.

Analysis of non-harmonic excitation of synthetic jet actuators
Kordík, Jozef ; Trávníček, Zdeněk
Axisymmetric synthetic jet actuator based on a loudspeaker was tested experimentally. The actuator was driven by a voltage waveform, whose shape was derived from a pulse-width modulated signal. While the duty cycle and frequency of the excitation signal were varied the outlet velocities were measured by a hot-wire probe. Integral quantities such as characteristic velocity, momentum flux, and kinetic energy flux were evaluated from the outlet velocities. Their maxima were located as functions of frequency and the duty cycle. The found maximal values were compared with results obtained for harmonic excitation. The highest improvement (about 18%) was achieved for kinetic energy flux.

Title: Phosphinoferrocene ligands with polar amide substituents Author: Hana Charvátová Department: Department of Inorganic Chemistry Supervisor: prof. RNDr. Petr Štěpnička, Ph.D. Abstract: This thesis is focused on phosphino-urea ferrocene ligands that are still rather neglected in the literature. It describes the synthesis of novel polar amides and hydrazides of 1'-(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene-1-carboxylic acid (Hdpf) with or without ethylene linker bearing various urea and guanidine terminal functional groups. Urea and guanidine derivatives with ethylene bridge can be prepared from Hdpf and appropriate amine with amidation agents. Phosphine ureas without the linker are accessible from reactions of primary amide of Hdpf with suitable acylation agents while analogical guanidine is obtained from guanylation of amide-amine generated from Hdpf acylbenzotriazole and ethylenediamine. Reaction of the acylbenzotriazole with free guanidine leads to [1-(diphenylphosphino)ferrocenecarbonyl]guanidine hydrochloride. These ferrocene ligands were used to prepare four types of palladium(II) complexes, viz. where L denotes the newly synthesized ligands and LNC is 2- [(dimethylamino)methyl]phenyl-C,N auxiliary chelating ligand. Catalytic efficiency of complexes with ethylene bridge was tested on reactions of aromatic...
