Mass Media and Their Impact on Leisure Time Activities of Secondary Shool Students
VÍTKOVÁ, Petra
ABSTRACT Mass Media and Their Impact on Leisure Time Activities of Secondary School Students Key words:media, television, internet, leisure time, teen-agers, value orientation, leisure time, non-profit organization This bachelor?s thesis deals with determination of basic terms related to mass media and their impact on leisure time spending of students at South-Bohemian secondary schools. This work is divided into theoretical and practical parts. In the theoretical part, basic terms are explained including media, mass communication, TV broadcasting and Internet, and their impact on teenagers. Furthermore, the thesis looks into value orientation and application of leisure time with teenagers considering media. In the practical part, I present survey results which are compared with theoretical and further practical findings. Priority of Internet in leisure time activities is particularly worth noticing.

Myth: Socialist Realism
Brederová, Tatiana ; Vinař, Josef (advisor) ; Boková, Marie (referee)
In my work Ifocus on the socialistic realism drama in Czechoslovakia, which was formed during the period 1948-1956 (playwrights such as Vojtěch Cach, Václav Káňa, Peter Karvaš, Štefan Králik, Ján Skalka...). The aim of my work is to define the unified signs of dramatic works, declared by Andrei Zhdanov, and to analyze the means of mass manipulation in these works. The main part of my work is the analysis of mythological conception of the socialistic realism drama. I do so by comparing the socialistic society and culture with those of Ancient world and Christian society. For this analysis I use the work of Carl Gustav Jung and Karl Kerényi Science of Mythology, as well as the modern interpretation of mythology today in the work Mythologies written by Roland Barthes. In the chapter Socialistic Mythology I look for concrete analogies with Ancient and Christian mythology. For example, I specify the principal signs of mythologies, such as the psychological origins of myths, the myth of the original chaos, icons and rituals in mythologies, morals and the social stratification. By investigating these signs I assume to find analogies with socialistic perception and interpretation of the world. Third chapter is dedicates to the analysis of ?ideolanguage? and ?ideologics?, terms defined by Mikhail Epstein. I analyze the specific vocabulary of communist era drama and the semantic structure. In the last chapter I analyze the concrete dramatic works as a result of further investigation of myth as such. I apply terms of Roland Barthes, such as naturalization and inflexion. These terms are according to Barthes typical for myths and I consider them also relevant for my study of socialistic realism. This way I try to characterize the intention of socialistic garniture to ?engineer human souls?.

Formation of yield and dry matter with genetic resources of opium poppy (Papaver somniferum L.)
Slowiaczek, Lukáš ; Hnilička, František (advisor) ; Jan, Jan (referee)
Diploma thesis with the topic: Formation of yield and dry matter with genetic resources of opium poppy (Papaver somniferum L.) was worked out at the Department of botanics and plant physiology, Faculty of agrobiology, food and natural resources ČZU in Prague. The purpose of this thesis was to determine genotype and ontogenetic differences in amount of yield, production of dry mass, and value of growth-analytic characteristics in certain species of opium poppy. Diploma thesis was based on the fact that most of the studies about opium poppy (Papaver somniferum L.) are focused on the content of alkaloids and other substances present in poppy seeds. Due to this facts, it is necessary to describe the genotypes of poppy plants and their genetic resources from the physiological point of view. Following species of opium poppy were chosen for the experiment: Akvarel, Albín, Buddha, Florian, Korneuburger Weisser, Lazur, Major, Marianne, Opál, Postomi, Sokol, Tatranský. These species were chosen according to their content of alkaloids, especially morfine very low content, low content, medium content and high content of morfine. All of the tested genotypes are tested as object of study of genetic poppy resources. Seeds were supplied by GB Oseva Pro s.r.o., o.z. VÚO Opava and company Český mák. Field experiments were established at the research laboratory FAPPZ ČZU in Prague, in Červený Újezd. This location is in Prague-West division, in area of Middle Bohemia. The altitude of this location is 401 metres above the sea level. The size of the field for testing was 2 m2. The experiment was based in 4 repetitions by the method of Latin square. Winter wheat was used as the preceding crop. Opium poppy was planted according to agrotechnical principles of planting. Content of dry mass in individual plant organs was measured in certain ontogenetic stages of opium poppy (35, 45, 49, 52, 54, 62, 81 BBCH). Size of leaf area was assessed by the image analysis WinDias. Yield of seeds was assessed as well. Growth-analytic characteristics were calculated from the values of wieght of dry mass and size of leaf area. The results confirmed that the size of plants is influenced by its ontogeny and also by its species. The results also confirm, that the height of plants is not influenced by the content of morfine. Connection between the colour of seeds and height of plant was not confirmed either. Increase in weight of above-ground biomass depending on ontogenetic stage and influence of plant species was confirmed. There are differences in production of yield in species of poppy with different contents of morfine because the average weight of yield in species with very low content of morfine was 112,36 g, in species with low content of morfine 110,41 g, in species with middle content of morfine 12167 g and in species with high content of morfine 123,16 g. It was approved that ontogeny of plants influences the leaf area index (LAI) as it increases until blooming and then it decreases as a result of senescence and falling off the old leaves. Differences in leaf area index were detected among the species of opium poppy, depending on the content of morfine. It was detected that crop growth rate (CGR), relative crop growth rate (Rw) and relative growth rate of assimilation area (RA) are influenced by the ontogeny of plants. It was detected that species with high content of morfine in poppy seeds (Buddha, Postomi, Lazur) and species with white seeds Sokol and Albín have lower yield than species with middle content of morfine.

City House – Mixet Use Architecture
Veselá, Jana ; Urbášková,, Hana (referee) ; Menšíková, Naděžda (advisor)
The territory lies in the City of Brno, in the urban district of Zábrdovice. From the east it is demarcated by the Svitava River, from the south by the Cejl Street, and from the west by the Jan Svoboda Street. Its area is approximately 18,790 m2. From the standpoint of urban planning¸ the intensive house is a separate city block, which is, nevertheless, open in the eastern direction towards the Svitava River, thus communicating with the embankment. In the other direction there is both private and semi-private space inside the block as a relaxation green “garden” in several levels. The mass of the object links up in the prolonged line with the existing neighbouring blocks and thus respects the integrity of the territory. Intensive use of the territory consists in the achievement of high density of built-up area, and at the same time preserving the surroundings of quality for life and habitation. Functions are mixed here and a city of short distances is created here with nearly excluded traffic. In order to achieve such intensity, space urbanism is employed. The principle consists in a simple linear form of masses respecting the shape of the lot, which is vivified with an ellipsoid located in the courtyard, which is an accent towards the linear form. The ellipsoid serves as a small cultural and exhibition centre, at the same time connecting all the arms of the defining block and bringing daylight to the first floor. The block is open in the direction to the river and its half-public space is connected with the embankment with a staircase and verdure. Verdure is also made use of on the roofs. The defining mass is perforated, thus creating covered terraces. The principal architectonic intention was to create an integrated structure, where a significant role is played by the introduction of nature and polyfunctionality to the whole territory, thus increasing its attractivity. From the dispositional perspective the individual functions interpenetrate at al

Floricultural utilization of Dionaea muscipula and its in vitro culture
Danko, Jiří ; Augustinová, Ludmila (advisor) ; Lucie, Lucie (referee)
This work focuses on the proper foundation of the Venus Flytrap (Dionaea muscipula Ell.) culture under in vitro conditions. The hypothesis of this paper is that the solution of Savo containing sodium hypochlorite will be able to sterilize effectively seeds of Flytrap without damaging them at certain concentrations. This experiment was founded in three repetitions in two locations - in the Prague Botanical Garden, where one repetition was founded, and at the Department of Horticulture at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, where two more repetitions were founded. The seeds were treated in five solutions of Savo Original namely concentrations of 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 % with the addition of soaking agent Trend 90 and planted on 1/2 MS medium where plants were grown for 4 months and then transplanted on the same medium for another 4 months. Cultivation was carried out under light conditions 16 hours of light, 8 hours of dark. During the cultivation the formation of contamination was monitored after the foundation of the culture, and also the number of germinated seeds and the number of plants with developed phyllomae. Also the qualitative appearance and the mass of plants were evaluated. The results show that all solutions of Savo are effective enough for sterilizing seeds for in vitro culture. Influence of individual solutions on the development of germination is statistically significant at two solutions - 15 and 20% solutions of Savo. In these solutions, the development of germination is much faster than the other. On the final number of germinated seeds nor the mass of plants, these 2 solutions didn't have a statistically significant effect. During cultivation, there were occurred some interesting phenomena - spontaneous multiplication of plants, production of polyphenols, flowering of explants, chlorosis and vitrification of tissues. After the previous cultivation, the plants were transferred to non-sterile substrates. Variants of substrates were perlite, peat and perlite in the ratio 2:1 and pure peat. Before cultivation, substrates were treated with a fungicide Previcur Energy. High humidity was ensured during the cultivation. For these conditions the mixture of peat and perlit seems to be the most suitable because of minimum losses.

SMAŽÍK, Jaroslav
The aim of this study was chosen for the field of observation should be hybrids of maize (Zea mays L.) for silage purposes from a wider set of hybrid genotypes. To evaluate the vegetation was established as a pilot experiment. Of this group were then selected 14 genotypes, which would satisfy most practical requirements. During the vegetation was monitored by formation of quantitative indicators required for silage maize hybrids. Before harvesting of collection of plants chosen for individual analysis of quantitative indicators, while processing the silage mass in laboratory conditions to evaluate selected quality indicators. When harvesting was imposed on the total yield of green and dry matter, dry matter content and proportion of buds on the plant.

Creation of TV News with Regard to Mass Culture
Kročáková, Veronika ; Rozehnal, Aleš (advisor) ; Krtilová, Kateřina (referee)
This master's thesis focuses on studying TV news as the most accessible information source for the mass society. It analyses the contemporary trends in news reporting, and attempts to define their impact on the mass audience. On the basis of critical theories of postmodern media society it further analyses the specific aspects which are not approached by the classical theory of media. This thesis aims both to define the media strategies in terms of the production and selection of news, and to research to what degree the news form determines the media content of TV news, and to what degree we might speak about the receivers to be manipulated.
