Hošková, Laura ; Maule, Petr (advisor) ; Lukášová, Tereza (referee)
The theoretical part of the Bachelor Thesis comprehensively illustrates the status and representation of persons with disabilities (PWD) on the current labour market in the Czech Republic. In a general manner, the Thesis looks at the employment policy as well; especially its legislative basis in the legal framework of the Czech Republic and selected EU countries. Furthermore, the legal obligations of employers of PWD and the possibilities of fulfilling the mandatory share of PWD employment are stated. Findings of two qualitative employment studies are presented showing that PWD enter the labour market equipped with specialized competencies, which they are willing to complete by retraining programmes in case of need. The employers perceive the employment of PWD mainly as a financial profit, granted to them by the state; and the legislative conditions are a sufficient incentive for them. The questionnaire survey pointed out that the weakness in the employment of PWD is the lack of part-time jobs, which are highly demanded among them. Therefore the Thesis presents a solution, which could be the creation of shared work positions.

Selected social determinants of health in immigrants in some regions of the Czech Republic
BRABCOVÁ, Iva
The main aim of the research was to map the influence of selected social determinants on health of target immigrant groups. The method was based on the concept of ten social determinants of health as introduced by Wilkinson and Marmot (2003). The quantitative method used were interviews. The survey was carried out in the period from January 2010 to December 2012. Data collection was carried out in two stages. In the first stage, the influence of two social determinants of health (nutrition and addiction) on the respondents' state of health was investigated. The second stage of the survey focused on working conditions and on how respondents can use health care. 246 immigrants were interviewed in the first stage of the survey. They were from the following regions: South Bohemian Region, the capital Prague and Vysočina Region. 236 immigrants from two regions (South Bohemian Region and the capital Prague) were addressed in the second stage of the survey. They were legally settled immigrants in the age group 18 65, of Vietnamese, Mongolian and Ukrainian nationality. The results of the survey clearly show that the target immigrant groups are more exposed to unfavorable working conditions than majority population. Compared to the Czech population the target immigrant groups show statistically significant differences especially in the area of excessive workload and discrimination in the workplace. Increasing incidence of unfavorable working conditions resulted in significant increase in occupational diseases. The factors influencing use of healthcare by immigrants are the type of health insurance, length of residence, sex and knowledge of Czech language. Immigrants who had entered the system of public health insurance used healthcare much more frequently than immigrants with commercial health insurance. Male immigrants smoke and drink alcohol much more heavily than female immigrants. The young generation of immigrants (aged 18 to 29) smoke statistically more significantly than the middle-aged and older generation of immigrants. Middle-aged immigrants (aged 30 to 50) consume more wine and spirits. Their health was perceived subjectively as "worse" by those respondents who at the same time mentioned chronic pain and psychic stress in the workplace. The following measures could lead to elimination of social inequality and to improvement of immigrants' situation in the Czech Republic: equal working conditions for immigrants and Czech employees, improvement of immigrants' knowledge of Czech, shortening of the overall time for obtaining permanent residence, simplification of the terms for gaining citizenship, guarantee of access to public healthcare to all legally settled immigrants.

Authenticity in the media World
Malaníková, Hana ; JIRÁK, Jan (advisor) ; HANČIL, Jan (referee)
The subject of my doctoral thesis is the phenomenon of the authenticity of people?s, specifically TV hosts?, public appearances in the media. The chief impetus, and the field of study itself, was my own experience of working at Czech Television for a year and a half and the necessity of placing that experience in the context of my theatre and teaching work.In the interest of preserving the most authentic possible testimony, the text is written in a narrative style with an emphasis on the subjective view of the author. In the introduction I set out the starting points from which I will explore authenticity in front of the television camera, along with the personal and social context of the phenomenon being studied. I describe the "rules of the game", i.e., the structure and concept of the text. Later I focus on the most significant contemporary views of authenticity, from the ideas of Jean-Jacques Rousseau to the theories of the social construction of reality of Peter Berger and Thomas Luckmann. From social scientific theories, I move on to the authenticity of actors on stage and an analysis of the discipline of Acting with the Inner Partner as a specific case of authentic existence in a public situation. In the third chapter I compare the theory and practice of television broadcasting from the perspective of an actor attempting to perform authentically in the role of TV host. In conclusion, I compare my original hypotheses with the conclusions I reached on my journey from the stage to the television camera and set out their potential significance for the study of authorial acting and authorial creativity.
