Receptors of NK cells
Hernychová, Lucie ; Novák, Petr (advisor) ; Pavlů, Barbora (referee)
NK cells play an important role as a part of the innate immune system, they however share many common features with cells of the adaptive immune system and they can modulate their functions as well. NK cells recognize non-self molecules (induced by viral infection or tumor transformation) through a wide variety of receptors on the cell surface. They also express receptors specific for their own structures, MHC glycoproteins. NK cells distinguish infected or transformed cells according to the quantity of these molecules on the target cell surface. Then NK cells allow apoptotic signals to cause cell death or the tolerance is established. They also promote inflammatory responses by the production of cytokines and chemokines. NK receptors can be grouped into activating, inhibitory, adhesion, cytokine, and chemokine receptors depending on their function. Based on interactions with appropriate ligands, NK cells exert cytotoxicity or they are inhibited. Moreover, their functions are influenced by the cytokine microenvironment. NK receptors can be also divided into C-type lectin and immunoglobulin superfamilies according to the structure. Ly49, NKG2/CD94 and NKR-P1 are receptor families that belong to the C-type lectin glycoproteins. These molecules have a type II transmembrane protein orientation and they...

Ellipsometry of Thin Films
Novotný, Zbyněk ; Navrátil, Karel (referee) ; Nebojsa, Alois (advisor)
Diploma thesis deals with ageing process of thin films of Co and Cu on Si substrate, prepared by the IBAD method. The process of film ageing, which depends on time of exposition to the atmosphere at room conditions, was investigated with spectroscopic ellipsometry (VIS+UV) and atomic force microscopy. In case of thin Co films, approximately four days long incubation period was observed. During this time period, a change in the optical parameters of the film occurs without a measurable change of the film topography. Using non-contact atomic force microscopy, a growth of the transitional film in the island growth regime was observed. During the ageing of thin Cu films, two stages of growth of the transitional layer were observed - nucleation stage and growth stage. Both of these time periods of the transitional layer growth show direct logarithmic dependence. Using non-contact atomic force microscopy, the growth of the transitional film was observed. Using atomic force microscopy in non-contact regime, time dependent measurement was done and the process of forming of one monolayer of the transitional layer was documented. Within the diploma thesis, a series of experiments on ultra high vacuum system were performed in order to investigate phase transformation of thin Fe films (22 monolayers) on Cu(100) stabilized by CO absorption. The transformation from fcc phase to bcc phase was induced by Ar+ ion beam bombardment with the ion energy in the range (0.5-4) keV. The process of phase transformation was observed by surface magneto-optic Kerr effect, Auger electron spectroscopy and low energy electron diffraction.

Cavitation assessment from flow rate drop and high-frequency pressure pulsations.
Šebek, Miloš ; Hudec, Martin (referee) ; Habán, Vladimír (advisor)
Main issue of this master´s thesis deals with high-frequency pulsations caused by cavitating hydraulic components (in this case nozzle and throttle valve). In first measurement on the nozzle was not a high-frequency sensor set in the way, so the evaluation was incorrect. After re-setting of the way was the nozzle measured again and the pulsations were evaluated correct this time. During the last measurement was the sensor located behind the throttle valve, which was with gradual opening and cavitation treatment measured. Resulting dependencies worked out on time dependence. A special mathematical method, Fourier transformation, was used. It transformed pressure amplitudes into frequency dependence. Evaluation of dependecies is the basic step for frequency band assesment, in which the cavitation on particular components happens.

Phase-correlation based image registration

Computer Generated Holograms
Tvarog, Drahoslav ; Jákl, Petr (referee) ; Kotačka, Libor (advisor)
The presented Diploma thesis deals with the computer-generated diffractive structures or rather called computer generated holograms (CGH). We follow basic principles of classical holography and in the context of which we define a synthetic holography. We then show various types of digital holograms and methods of measurement of their quality. We deal with several iterative algorithms useful for computation of the Fourier transform as well as with methods of phase quantization. In the second part of the work, we describe briefly our computer code for iterative Fourier transform computation. With respect to the mentioned techniques, we further present the usability of the method for design of computer generated holograms in reflection regime. After a short introduction to the electron beam lithography and its exploitation for the origination of computer generated diffractive optical elements. We analyze reconstructions of produced holograms and evaluate its quality.

Development of mobile application for musicians
Novotný, Miroslav ; Pavlíčková, Jarmila (advisor) ; Kutišová, Magda (referee)
The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to design and develop an Android application for musicians. The theoretical part, is conceived as an introduction to the theory of sound. Firstly, I describe the architecture of Android and the individual components that make it up. There are subsequent chapters exploring the sound from its inception, through the process of converting to digital form, to a description of the individual interfaces for the recording and processing from within the environment of an Android system. The practical part, is devoted to designing and developing an application that serves as a tool for practicing playing a musical instrument. The application consists of various features such as: tuner, metronome and an EarTrainer. To understand the component of a tuner it has been necessary to study a theory needed to support the main functionality of calculating the frequency of the recorded audio signal. For this reason, this thesis is also a theoretical introduction to the Fourier transformation. The last part of this thesis is focusing on how the tuner compares with the calculation accuracy of other competitors. Finally, The application was published for the Google Play store.

Nováková, Alena ; Elhottová, Dana ; Krištůfek, Václav ; Lukešová, Alena ; Hill, P. ; Kováč, L. ; Mock, A. ; Luptáčik, P.
The chemistry (organic matter content and pH) of different substrates from the Ardovská and Domica Caves in the Slovak Karst National Park (Slovakia) and the composition of their microbial communities were studied. Differences in organic matter content and microbial communities were found between the substrates from the Domica and Ardovská Caves. A broad spectrum of photoautotrophic microorganisms (algae and cyanobacteria) was found in different cave microhabitats (cave sediment, rotten wood, earthworms casts and isopods faeces), but no algae were detected in the fresh bat droppings and in the intestinal tract of the isopod .i.M. graniger./i.. Microfungi and bacterial colonies play the primary role in transforming bat guano into a food source for saprophagous and microphytophagous invertebrates.

Kačina, Peter ; Kosek, Jiří (advisor) ; Dudáš, Marek (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focusing on design and implementation of prototype application, which will be used for transformation from W3C XML schema to visual form in SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) format. Visualized schema will made easier to understand it and it will be possible to use it as a part of documentation to XML files. It could be also used by developers which will develop XML documents according to the schemas. Visualized form will interpret structure of the document and will provide information about its parts -- elements, complex types and attributes. The goal of the thesis is to create a tool, which will generate interactive graphic in browser with the help of clients XSLT processor -- Saxon CE. In the beginning in the thesis are described used technologies and its way of use in this prototype application. Further in the thesis is described design of graphic model and algorithm and also described how the interactivity is functioning. In description of graphic model are shown pictures of graphic interpretations of each structure mentioned hereinbefore. In following chapter is the algorithm, which main responsibility is to mine data from the source XML document and ensuring of interactivity, described in more detail. Practical output is prototype XSLT transformation, which with the help of clients XSLT processor Saxon CE will transform any W3C XML schema into graphic representation.
