The Metods of Activation of Seniors
Ondřichová, Marie ; Vorlová, Marie (advisor) ; Kubátová, Blanka (referee)
This graduate work is about active life style of seniors in rest homes. I work with seniors in the rest home in Bechyně. In solve questions concerning activities of seniors who live here. They are passive and they don't have any stimuli (especially sense stimuli). I used the method of questionary to find out something about their hobbies. On the basis of the results of the questionary I try to think up new activities and programs for them. There are some programs for them, but I would like to offer more activities they could do together. I realized some of the new programs. At the end I deal with individual work with concrete seniors. I hope that the new activities will be useful and funny for the seniors and that they won't feel social isolation and won't be bored so much. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

The local ecological limits of the brown coal mining and the Czech energy policy
Salivar, Lukáš ; Háva, Petr (advisor) ; Drhová, Zuzana (referee)
The Diploma thesis deals with the Czech energy policy in relation to the local ecological limits of the brown coal mining in Northern Bohemia. The local ecological limits are based on the government statement in 1991 and its purpose is to protect environment in this area. Nowadays we are the witnesses of the discussion about the abolition of these limits, mainly because of the shrinking resources of the brown coal. The aim of this thesis is to analyze how the Czech energy policy deals with the public interest in relation to the local ecological limits. The thesis focuses not only on the public interest but also on the actors and the distribution of the power among these actors and on the future direction of the Czech energy policy mainly in relation to the sustainable development. The thesis is based on the theoretical knowledge of the business-state relationship and of the sustainable development. The thesis shows that the public interest is not clearly defined in the Czech energy policy, although it is used very often. The conceptualization of the public interest can be derived from the acting and statements of the relevant actors. According to the relevant actors the public interest is the exploitation of these resources, which would lead to the conservation of the current structure of the energy...

The study continues with the analysis of the age and educational structure and development of the economically active population of working age. The last chapter analyses the issue of the average length of economic activities according to individual education based on the tables of economic activity.

Colluvial soils - their characteristics and spatial delineation at chosen study areas in the Czech republic
Zádorová, Tereza ; Šefrna, Luděk (advisor) ; Borůvka, Luboš (referee) ; Sobocká, Jaroslava (referee)
Colluvial soils, formed in areas of increased accumulation of soil material, represent an important element in landscape and soil mosaic, whose development is still in progress. Their spatial distribution and profile thickess are considered to be important indicators of processes leading to significant landscape changes. Their importance also consists in very deep humus horizon which makes them a vast storage of organic carbon. Mapping of colluvial soils represents a substantial contribution in the update process of classic soil maps. The aim of the thesis is a complex analysis of the colluvial soil unit in terms of its relation to soil properties, terrain and geological predispositions and relevance in soil mapping. The study results are based mainly on detailed terrain survey, digital terrian model analysis and modern pedometric methods application. The research was proceeded in three study areas with significant pedological and geological differences and various predisposiotion for colluviation intensity and velocity and resulting character of colluvial profiles. Diverse character of the study areas was the main factor of the spatial distribution and properties of the colluvial soils. In Chernozem region, intensive erosion resulted in formation of colluvial soils characterized by thick humus...

A comparison of the carbon footprint of food consumption of households in the EU regions
PEŠEK, Roman
The thesis compares the carbon footprints generated by household food consumption in urban and rural areas of selected regions within the European Union, and deepens the knowledge of the impact contemporary society has on global climate change. Selected regions come from the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary and the Netherlands. The first part summarises the findings of climate change and its impact on the environment, the concept of sustainable development, and the consumer behaviour of the Czech population in the food sector, with a focus on the possibility to influence carbon footprint production. The second part addresses the particular comparison of carbon footprints generated by household food consumption and evaluates the results. The conclusion from this part of the dissertation can be used as a guide to help reduce carbon footprints through food consumption.

Natural flooding in Lužnice floodplain - an holistic approach
Pithart, David ; Montagová, Martina ; Hartvich, P. ; Černý, R. ; Prach, K.
Natural flooding was analysed in the Lužnice River floodplain in a holistic approach. Benefits of natural flooding can be summarised as folows: 1. Water retention is increased due to the soil absorption, evapotranspiration, filling of oxbows, pools and natural depressions and finally the space between the river terreces. Real flood event are analysed here in terms of water distribution among these processes. 2. Natural flooding reduces the loss of ionts from the watershed by flowing the river outflouw and loss of carbon loss by slowing the decomposition processes. 3. Flooding creates and maintains floodplain geobiodiversity by re-forming of floodplain subsystems and differentation of its impact on these subsystems. For these reasons, maintaining and enchenging of natural flooding seems to be a prerequisite of sustainable management of riverine landscape.

EU and OPEC: energy dialogue
Šimčíková, Eunika ; Adamcová, Lenka (advisor) ; Vondrušková, Barbora (referee)
Oil is a strategic raw material for many sectors of national economies. For oil extracting countries it represents a comparative advantage to those who do not have this privilege. The European Union is by 80% dependent on oil imports and OPEC has a 40% share of the world oil production. In the same way regular and safe energy supply matters for the EU, export markets are equally essential for OPEC. The EU-OPEC bilateral cooperation started in 2005 in order to enhance producer-consumer dialogue during a period characterized by growing crude oil prices and uncertainties on oil markets. Concerning the strategy, EU aims at more stable and transparent crude oil prices and markets, more attractive investment climate, better analysis and cooperation in developing new technologies. OPEC seeks to assure regular oil supply to consumers and to contribute to stable oil prices. Five meetings have taken place so far. Among some of the discussed topics were: crude oil prices, carbon capture and storage technologies, biofuels and others alternative sources of energy, investment in oil sector, human resources and data transparency.

Fundamental Equities Analysis and its Effect on Decision Making in Praxis
Schiller, Jaroslav ; Radvan,, Michal (referee) ; Rejnuš, Oldřich (advisor)
The subject of this thesis on fundamental equities analysis, which is considered one of the most commonly used methods for valuing securities, is to make the best investment in the chosen field into the selected equity companies. In the first part of the thesis there is a brief outline of other types of analysis together with other theoretical approaches but the main problem to be solved is the fundamental analysis. The second part is devoted to the selection and characterization of joint-stock companies of the same field and then selecting assessment indicators. The third part deals with the analysis of individual companies using selected methods of intercompany comparison from two different points of view. The final part conveys the comparison of selected methods of intercompany comparisons for both points of view and the proposal of the most suitable investment.
