Old age as a social event
PAVLIŠOVÁ, Ludmila
Abstract Old age as a social event The Old Age is a natural period of life. This period brings wisdom, insight, sense of fulfillment, but physical, mental and social changes occur at the same time. A retirement is a fundamental change in this period. How do these changes actually affect the senior life? Some individuals are not ready for these changes and they do not know what to do, how to cope with their Old Age. And therefore it is a very important thing not to underestimate the retirement preparation process. Attitudes of the majority population to the seniors are among others influenced also by the media which constitute key factors in the society involved in a social construction of the reality and in a socialization of all generations. The population ageing has an impact not only to intergenerational relationships but also to a subjective experience of the Old Age. The senior issues cannot be only reduced to the issue of the pension reform but there will be necessary to deal with the status of a senior in the society, the recognition of a senior contribution, questions of the their upbringing and education, a media presentation of the senior issues, an adaptation of services to the needs of the seniors, to the senior fashion, transportation, environment... The aim of my bachelor thesis was to acquaint with particular consequences of the retirement (coping with the retirement, positive and negative aspects of a pension, a health state and plans of seniors for the future). In the course of my work I respected a personality of each person and his or her attitude to the life. My research aim was to find out whether seniors perceive their retirement as a social event in the meaning of a change in their social status. The partial aim was to characterize factors that most influence the perception of the Old Age. I think that the aims were met. I chose a qualitative form of the research using a narrative dialogue method and an inquiry. The research sample consisted of seniors older than sixty five years who are retired and live in the region of Tábor. Results of my thesis show that the retirement preparation and adaption process is very important. In order to get to a gradual change of the lifestyle, a transitional phase between the unemployment and the retirement is necessary. Seniors need to familiarize with a new situation and how to cope with it. The senior economic situation is getting worse with the retirement as well. It is obvious that senior living standard has got its own social significance and that indicates, in a certain way, their social status. The results of the conducted research show that seniors perceive their position in the society negatively and they consider their retirement as a social event with a meaning of a change in their social status. A declaration of the above mentioned European Year for Active Ageing and Intergenerational Solidarity is therefore considered to be a useful step in the process of the coping with consequences of demographic changes in the Czech Republic. The theme concerning seniors is currently very timely, because with the demographic development the number of seniors is still increasing not only in the Czech Republic but also in the whole Europe. The society warns about an inappropriate behavior of younger generation towards seniors. Therefore I believe that my thesis will serve to a creation of a more comprehensive picture of the Old Age from the perspective of the seniors.

Fiscal rules in selected EU countries between 2004-2015: sensible method for consolidation of public finances or fad of politicians?
Veselý, Lukáš ; Strejček, Ivo (advisor) ; Chmelová, Pavla (referee)
The subject of fiscal rules is very topical issue. The rise of public debt in certain developed countries resulted in what is sometimes called "debt crisis". Debt of those countries which is higher than their annual gross domestic product is viewed as unpayable by some economists. The main objective of this thesis has been to prove or disprove hypothesis that the fiscal rules studied in this paper are an effective solution for public finance consolidation. This verification was based on the analysis of fiscal rules functioning in selected countries between 2004 and 2015. As per results of analysis the paper aims to give recommendations for the Czech financial constitution proposal. The actual results of inquiry proved the hypothesis. Well-chosen fiscal rules are the right way towards fiscal consolidation, provided they are observed. Fiscal rules making thus requires an emphasis to be placed on the well-formulated exit clauses altogether with prospective sanctions. The current Czech financial constitution proposal is built on the correctly picked fiscal rule type, although the reference value lacks economic sense and it would not lead, with a high degree of probability, towards fiscal consolidation.

The Value of CSR for Czech Consumers
Faradji, Elise ; Štěrbová, Ludmila (advisor) ; Seror, Patricia (referee)
Nowadays consumers purchasing behavior is influenced by new factors such as the social and environmental implication of companies. This is why Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a growing trend which companies need to look after carefully. However implementing an efficient CSR strategy is a complex process for corporations; especially since the core concept of CSR remain quite blurry. The goal of this study is to analyze the perception of consumers towards CSR to find out about the value creation that CSR produce for consumers and its impact on their purchasing behavior. This paper will ultimately help companies to implement their CSR strategy more efficiently. This study aims to contribute by conducting an in-depth analysis of consumers attitudes and behavior towards CSR. If most of researchers are using a quantitative approach this study means to deal with the issue with a qualitative perspective. Indeed twelve semi-structured interviews will support the findings. On top of those practical and physical interviews some theoretical knowledge will be added to the construction of the argument especially to bring a framework that shows the importance of all types of value creation (functional emotional and social). The findings of the thesis emphasize the facts already proven by other researchers; value creation is fundamental to make consumers care about CSR. However the study will show how much skepticism towards CSR can impact negatively consumers purchasing behavior. The research will help companies implementing more successful CSR strategy and develop new solutions to reach customers and influence their purchasing behavior through the creation of value for them.

Marketing strategy of the company 3M in social media
Němec, Tomáš ; Halík, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Luňáčková, Michaela (referee)
Diploma thesis focus on social media as a phenomenon of modern times and their use in a marketing. I will introduce four most frequently used social media - Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube as well as an outline the possibility of their use in marketing. Marketing strategy in social media I decided to introduce through a concrete example - an international company 3M. This company I chose mainly because it operates in the market of industrial products, where online marketing is not as much used and also because it cooperates with University of Economics. After introducing the basic marketing theories and explanations of basic terms I will analyze an existing 3M marketing strategy in social media and on the basis of the analysis and obtained data I will suggest my own possible marketing strategy for the company 3M, which connects all the aforementioned social media.

Němec, Milan ; Molnár, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Jelínek, Ivan (referee)
This thesis focuses on measuring company´s communication and behaviour on social networks. To capture the interaction between the company and its users the thesis uses web analytics tools. Therefore, the main objective of the thesis is analysis of these tools. To achieve this goal, the thesis characterizes social networks and their marketing opportunities for business promotion. Thanks to this, needs of using these tools is identified. The needs are: competitive analysis, optimizing communication, measuring achievement of objectives or detection competitive viral content. Research questions were determined and then analysis tools found answers to research questions. It was found that the tools provide various views of data and create a complete system for measuring and analysing behaviour and communication companies on social networks. The results were validated in a case study focused on the Facebook profile of the University of Economics in Prague. The study analysed the interaction profile of the school and its users and compared with others schools. In the results the analysis tools are validated and it is designed recommendation for improve engagement. This thesis revealed strengths and weaknesses of tools for measuring company´s communication and behaviour on social networks. It was found that these tools have wide range of use. They can be used for understanding the company's profile, its users, for purposes of competitive analysis, monitor corporate goals and optimize communications on social networks.

Výběr a implementace open source nástroje pro řízení portfolia projektů
Marek, Jan ; Chlapek, Dušan (advisor) ; Kučera, Jan (referee)
Methods and ways of implementation of changes and innovations in companies through project management are in today's society very well established. There exists methodologies, techniques and tools for the management of individual projects. However in a role of project manager, I very often faced the fact that companies are performing the project portfolio management in very intuitive way. This in itself leads to failed and prematurely terminated projects, initiation of the wrong projects or realisation of correct projects, but at the wrong time. Very often I have also recognized, that there is lack of awareness of fact, that there are also Open Source applications that can help with the organization's portfolio. This thesis deals with the definition of requirements, search and selection of proper OSS application and subsequent implementation. In the first part of this thesis I prepare a theoretical framework about PPM, and on that basis then identify and verify a set of requirements for selection of right OSS PPM application. The next section of thesis describes searching for suitable applications from a variety of sources, assessment against the requirements and the final selection. In the last part the implementation project is drafted, which aims to serve other colleagues in project management as one of the possible implementation paths. The outputs are then continuously confronted with experts in matter of projects and project management in the field of IT in order to maximize symbiosis between theory and real life experiences. Virtually every project management methodology defines the collection of already-proven techniques, best practices or lessons learned from the previous similar implementations. The main contribution of this thesis I see in fact that it contains not only the design of the project implementation, but also describes a logical path, what leads to the result. Therefore this thesis could be used as a base or discussed best practice, when a project of implementation of PPM application in place.

Hazard analysis of nanoparticles in the workplace environment and design of protective measures against their side effects
Skřehotová, Marcela ; Tesařová, Eva (advisor) ; Mráz, Jaroslav (referee)
The diploma thesis is focused on so called new risks, which currently include the risks associated with various nanomaterials - their production, introduction into practice and use. The paper summarizes the up-to-date knowledge about the characteristics of nanoparticles used and it proposes a procedure to estimate potential consequences of their exposure. The experimental part of the paper is represented by a case study, which introduces the practical application of the proposed procedure aiming at estimated exposure to nanoparticles on the workplace where metal working is executed and resulting occupational risks. The aim of this part of the study was to measure selected parameters of aerosols using a special measuring system working on the principle of laser photometry combined with diffusion charger and detector using Faraday cage. The object of the measurements was to determine the numerical concentration of nanoparticles present in working environment and the representation of size groups of submicron particles. The measurement procedure was designed in accordance with ČSN EN 689, ČSN EN ISO 16000-1 and ČSN ISO 8756 standards and data gained were subsequently interpreted. Afterwards the results were used to design the measures to reduce the risk of health damage when facing chronic inhalation...

My paper can show a painter artist’s life who grew up under the military rule for 50 years and the situation and history of Burmese painting field. Then not only people who are studying the painting subject, but also other people can know about the subject of Burmese painting and field of artists. I dare say that my paper must be colorful and fruitful. As a painter artist, it seems that he wants his audience to feel his materials but he rare to show his real life behind the pictures. For me, I can get a chance to know about his real life for my thesis paper. xxxxxxxxxx Thesis Statement My thesis can be useful for everybody who is interested in Burmese contemporary art field. Many of San Minn's art works are based on autobiographical, making sharp social commentary on the popular culture, social values and scenario circumstances where he has lived in. xxxxxxxxxx

The issue of compensation of a heart valve from the perspective of the patient
MUNDLOVÁ, Anna
A heart valve replacement is one of the most technically difficult cardiac surgeries. For the patient, it means a mental and physical health intervention. Heart valve surgery is currently the second most common cardiac surgery - accounting for up to 20% of the total number of cardiac surgeries. The goals and objectives of a heart valve replacement are to improve patients' quality of life and their medical prognosis. The heart valve replacement is carried out only in cases when we cannot perform the heart valve plastic surgery and thereby replace the entire heart valve with an artificial one. Heart valve prosthetics can be mechanical - patients with this kind of prosthetics are then warfarinized for life or they can also be made of biological material (bioprosthetics). Patients with bioprostehtics require only a three month long anticoagulant therapy. Temporary postoperative complications may occur such as dyspnoea, gastric and intestinal atony or aggravation of pulmonary functions. Among the rarer complications are rhythm disorders, thrombosis of prosthetic heart valve, and last but not least infective endocarditis. The patients, after the heart valve replacement, are at a greater risk of complications, therefore they are obliged to always have their patient at risk of infection endocarditis card with them (see appendix 4). After the operation the patients are informed about the lifestyle changes they are to follow within their daily routine, the information is delivered by doctors and nurses. The task of the nurses is to inform the patient about the lifestyle changes together with doctors. Good understanding and observance of these lifestyle changes help to improve patients' life after the heart valve replacement. This bachelor thesis is divided into an empirical and theoretical part. The theoretical part focussing on the problems connected with the heart valve replacement, valvular imperfections, perioperative nursing, patients' lifestyle changes and their quality of life.
