Experimental methods for study of historical structures
Drdácký, Miloš ; Jirovský, Ivo ; Lesák, Jaroslav ; Pospíšil, Stanislav ; Slížková, Zuzana ; Valach, Jaroslav ; Vavřík, Daniel
The paper presents a review of selected experimental methods for study of historic materials and structures, which have been developed or applied in the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in Prague. It discusses peculiarities of the experimental investigation of historic structures and materials, which influence basic methodological approach. The contribution is focused especially on nonstandard methods of study of material characteristics and on testing of historic structures subjected to environmental loads or actions.

Measurement and computation of acoustic characteristics of a simplified vocal tract model for phonation of vowel /a/
Kryštůfek, J. ; Vampola, T. ; Horáček, Jaromír ; Veselý, Jan
The paper is focused on experimental verification of 3D modeling of the acoustic characteristics of human vocal tract for phonation of vowel /a/ by the finite element method. The computational and experimental modal analyses were carried out on the mathematical and physical models of the vocal tract. The acoustic pressure computed by transient analysis in time domain is compared with measured resonant characteristics in frequency domain.

The use of bioimpedance analysis for kidney function evaluation
Veselková, Alena ; Šrámek, Petr (advisor) ; Švára, František (referee)
Objective: To calculate glomerular filtration (GF) through the use six available methods to estimate GF and measure impedance parameters phase angle () and fat free mass (FFM) by using multifrequency and monofrequency measurement. Select one method of estimating GF as a strict method of estimation GF for this study and by using linear regression relate with other method of estimating GF and impedance parameters measured () and FFM. Consider if () and FFM are significant parameters to improve methods of estimating GF given below (MDRD-A, MDRD-B, CLCG, CLcysC). (...) Conclusions: Impedance parameters () and FFM correlate with GF, decreasing GF cause decreasing of these impedance parameters. This study proved very close relationship between parameters FFMx and FFMc, obtained by using two different kinds of measuring (R2 - FFMx and FFMc = 0,843). Method of bioimpedance is ready to other validation and to develope bioimpedance scale to estimate renal function.

Unconvential monetary policy adopted by ECB and FED in 2008-2015
Pörner, Marek ; Šetková, Lenka (advisor) ; Ševčíková, Michaela (referee)
The main aim of this thesis is to analyse the accomplishment of the goals set, namely those of the selected unconventional monetary policies approved by the Federal Reserve System and the European Central Bank in response to the last financial crisis. With the FED the attention is focused on Quantitative Easing, whereas with the ECB it is focused on the programmes called Enhanced Credit Support, SMP, OMT and EAPP. Important parts of this thesis are also the explanation of the transmission mechanism of the unconventional monetary policy, the evaluation of macroeconomic impacts of these non-standard tools, the comparison of procedures of the two monitored central banks, but mainly the analysis of selected risks related to those tools. The principal method was an empirical analysis supported by economic studies dealing with the issues mentioned above. In the thesis it was discovered that the individual goals of the monitored programmes were achieved (with the exception of the SMP). With the programme EAPP no conlusion can be drawn because the programme has not been finished yet. Nevertheless, these non-standard tools bring certain risks such as a creation of a bubble in the markets of assets, a redistribution of wealth, a spillover effect, etc. For that reason it will be possible to evaluate the overall effect of the unconventional monetary policies only after a longer time period.

Parametric testing plasma welding on the root of weld
Záškoda, David ; Daněk, Ladislav (referee) ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (advisor)
The subject of this thesis is to assess the suitability of the new process of welding roots of welds by the rotors of steam turbines plasma jet. The new proposed method uses a combination of welding the weld root plasma with the method of submerged-arc welding, however the submerged-arc welding is not subjekt of this work. The tests performed were verified by the possibility of welding the weld root of the plasma jet – Keyhole method without filler material. The aim was to find the optimum welding parameters to achieve the required weld quality, particularly with regard to geometry of weld. Turbine rotors are made of heat resistant steels, which have high strength at high temperatures. In all described tests have been used steel 30CrMoNiV 5-11....Mat. No. 1.6946.

Měření neformálního sektoru v transformačních ekonomikách použitím makroekonomických metod: nové důkazy
Hanousek, Jan ; Palda, F.
An easy and popular method for measuring the size of the underground economy is to use macro-data such as money demand or electricity demand to infer what the legitimate economy needs, an then to attribute the remaining consumption to the underground economy. Such inferences rely on the stability of parameters of the money demand and electricity demand equations, or at the very least on knowledge of how these parameters are changing. We argue that the pace of change of these parameters (such as velocity) is too variable in transition economies for the above methods of estimating the size of the underground economy to be applicable.

Influence of social politics on fertility rate in specific regions of Czech republic
Dvořák, Josef ; Melzochová, Jitka (advisor) ; Babin, Jan (referee)
Thesis is focused on relationship between fertility rate and tools of state support. The goal is to reveal relationship between these two factors. Partial goal is to discover specific effects of tools of state support in specific regions of Czech republic. I have aimed on research at national level and also specific regions between years 1993-2014. In order to find these relationships I used method that compares differences in development of the fertility rate. After that, I set up regression model solved by method called fixed effects. For specific regions analysis was used OLS method. Model was able to explain more than 80 % of variability. This results can be used for predicting of citizens behavior, when some changes in family allowances occurs. Main finding is, that most motivating tools are parenting allowances and child benefits.

Human Factor Reliability Evaluation
Richter, Marek ; Tabas, Marek (referee) ; Kotek, Luboš (advisor)
This thesis is focused on evaluation human factor reliability of assembly line, which is in company Hella Autotechnik, s.r.o. from Mohelnice. This analysis will be made with several methods. At first will be estimated operator errors with method TESEO, then will be used method Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) for detection hazard factors, which are influenced by production on the assembly line. In the end will be identified hazard precaution with HAZOP study.

Aerodynamic optimization of passenger car body
Kubíček, Martin ; Fiľakovský, Karol (referee) ; Popela, Robert (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on create an optimization methodology for CFD issues or any other computationally demanding software. Optimization method is applied on simplified model of car, where improves its aerodynamic properties

Fiscal rules in selected EU countries between 2004-2015: sensible method for consolidation of public finances or fad of politicians?
Veselý, Lukáš ; Strejček, Ivo (advisor) ; Chmelová, Pavla (referee)
The subject of fiscal rules is very topical issue. The rise of public debt in certain developed countries resulted in what is sometimes called "debt crisis". Debt of those countries which is higher than their annual gross domestic product is viewed as unpayable by some economists. The main objective of this thesis has been to prove or disprove hypothesis that the fiscal rules studied in this paper are an effective solution for public finance consolidation. This verification was based on the analysis of fiscal rules functioning in selected countries between 2004 and 2015. As per results of analysis the paper aims to give recommendations for the Czech financial constitution proposal. The actual results of inquiry proved the hypothesis. Well-chosen fiscal rules are the right way towards fiscal consolidation, provided they are observed. Fiscal rules making thus requires an emphasis to be placed on the well-formulated exit clauses altogether with prospective sanctions. The current Czech financial constitution proposal is built on the correctly picked fiscal rule type, although the reference value lacks economic sense and it would not lead, with a high degree of probability, towards fiscal consolidation.
