International involvement in the peacebuilding process on Sri Lanka
Mojžíš, Michal ; Havlová, Radka (advisor) ; Burešová, Jana (referee)
The final months of Sri Lankan civil war, the 26 year military campaign between the Government of Sri Lanka and the insurgent separatist organization Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, are marked by allegations of war crimes committed by both parties of the conflict, including attacks on civilians, summary executions of prisoners, enforced disappearances, restrictions on humanitarian assistance and recruitment of children. Since the attempts to put the Sri Lankan issue on the agenda of the United Nations Security Council failed on the unwillingness of China and Russia, the UN bodies in Geneva have taken a leading role in promoting the peacebuilding process on the island. The thesis aims to analyse the impact of the Geneva-based human rights bodies, in particular of the United Nations Human Rights Council, on the process of reconciliation in Sri Lanka, for which is crucial that the alleged violations of human rights in the last months of the civil war would be properly investigated and that the perpetrators would be held accountable. In order to put the activity of the UN Human Rights Council into broader context, the paper will examine the political development in Sri Lanka since the end of the civil war in 2009 as well as the failed efforts of Sri Lankan governments to launch the process of reconciliation.

Adhesion Molecules and their Role in Model of Pathological Conditions
Pospíšilová, Naďa ; Semecký, Vladimír (advisor) ; Geršl, Vladimír (referee) ; Stingl, Josef (referee)
Souhrn/Summary 1 Atherosclerosis is one of the major causes of cardiovascular morbidity. This chronic inflammatory disease is characterized by endothelial dysfunction with accumulation of lipids, leukocytes, smooth muscle cells and extracellular matrix within the vessel intima. This process results in reducing of the vessel lumen that can lead to the obstruction of vessel blood flow. The initiation of atherogenic process is characterized by the alteration of endothelial function which is so-called endothelial dysfunction. The endothelial dysfunction is characterized by the expression of cell adhesion molecules and increased endothelial permeability for monocytes, T-cells and lipoproteins. This is beginning of "vicious"circle of atherosclerosis. On of the most important cell adhesion molecules participating in the beginning of atherogenesis are members of the immunoglobulin superfamily, VCAM-1 (vascular cell adhesion molekule-1), ICAM-1 (intracellular cell adhesion molekule-1) and PECAM-1 (platelet-endothelial cell adhesion molekule-1).VCAM-1 and ICAM-1 are transmembrane glycoproteins participacing predominantly in the stabilization leukocyte of interaction with endothelium and transmigration of leukocytes into vessel intima. In this dissertation thesis, the first studies were focused on the endothelial...

Arbitration proceedings in the Czech Republic
Vedralová, Jana ; Smolík, Petr (advisor) ; Winterová, Alena (referee)
The focus of this thesis is to analyse the most questionable and presently very discussed points at isme of the arbitration in the Czech Republic. The subject of this thesis is rather extensive, therefore not all aspects of the arbitral proceedings can be concerned. There has been a substantial advancement in arbitration, since Act No. 216/1994 Coll., On Arbitral Proceedings and On Execution of Arbitral Awards took effect. In this thesis I focused on the czech legal framework of arbitration, its imperfections and influence of judicature of the European Court of Justice on the interpretation of the czech law. Pursuant to the questionable facts mentioned above, and under the influence of the judicature of the European Court of Justice and czech court's judicature, the Arbitration Act should be amend. There should be changes especially at the articles concerning arbitrator, arbitration at consumer disputes, and the arbitration contract requirements. The arbitration is means of final and binding dispute rosolution which provides a suitable alternative for the judicial trial, especially at commercial disputes between undertakers - professionals.

Quality perfection in trailer manufacture
Vlach, Zdeněk ; Marková, Petra (referee) ; Pernikář, Jiří (advisor)
The diploma work is dealing with solution of concrete problem from the industrial practice. The main aim is to increase the quality in trailer production. The section of state of the art includes the description of selected characteristics about the company AGADOS, analysis of production process including controlling and monitoring activities. The theoretical study introduces processes and methods of planning for continuous improving of quality. The evaluation of monitored results with the support of IS tools was proceeded by construction of recognized divergences by the help of Pareto diagram. After the implementation of corrective proceedings to improve the quality, which was estimated in terms of processing engineering, repeated evaluations have been applied. The effectiveness of proposed proceedings is illustrated by construction of Pareto diagrams, which are presenting the complex examination of changes before and after implementation of corrective proceedings.
