Student film as a genre and its presence at international film festivals

Student film is rather a technical category than a specific genre. It is defined by school-given parameters, technological approach or length. However, student films can also be seen as professing certain elements of a genre that stem out of the very given criteria. The focal point of the thesis is the relationship between student films and in majority international film festivals - this is approached based on mapping of significant achievements of Czech student films at international festivals, examination of student films as seen by the festivals and Czech film professionals and experts. The key element that will be dealt with throughout the entire thesis is the discussion concerning the artifically-introduced stigma that student films carry in the eyes of the general public.

Genetic Aspects of Sporadic Ovarian Cancer

SUMMARY Molecular biological parameters, including genetic alterations, present new and perspective direction in diagnostics, prediction of prognosis, monitoring and possible therapeutic approaches in oncological disease. The results presented have to do with the project, which is concentrated upon chromosomal rearrangements in ovarian and cervical cancer and their correlations with available parameters of both molecular biological and clinical characteristics. Sixty patients with ovarian cancer and twenty patients manifesting cervical cancer were included into the study. The histological type and grade, MIB-1 and p53 (using immunohistochemical method) were estimated by histopathologist. Both conventional karyotyping and molecular-cytogenetic methods (fluorescent in situ hybridization and comparative genomic hybridization) were applied to reveal chromosomal aberrations. The results were subjected to statistical evaluation, using analysis of variances and χ2 test. There were correlated parameters of quantitative and qualitative character - age, stage, histological type, grade, CA 125 before and after treatment, MIB-1, p53, surgical residuum, lymphadenectomy, response rate, chromosomal rearrangements. Pakr Hôrka vo Veľkom Krtíši. Diplomní projekt dotvoření vybraných urbánních prostorů

SUMMARY This Master's thesis deals with design to the completion of selected urban area specifically at the Hôrka Park in Veľký Krtíš. It is the study of an urban park creation made by various successive steps - from finding and processing a literature review on similar issues, through the analytical part of the territory, to the final design solution. The objective of the design is to create a quality public space, which becomes the green background of the city and to create the conditions for more efficient use according to current social demands. It is a city park for all that combines natural character with the modern. It will provide attractivity with flexibility including mobility and movement in space through the usage of terrain, vegetation cover and the sight structures. In summary, the study design solution converts Hôrka Park to the city park which fits into the structure of the city. It will also make the city more attractive and it will increase its quality and a recreational potential as well.

Image processing within determination of topographic surface parameters

This work deal with determination topohraphic parameters of a randomly rough surface by the help of method of shearing interferometry. It is a optical method for determination surface roughness. The basic idea is based of on deformation interference strips which are made by interference of the same mutually translated monochrome luminous wavefronts. The wavefront is created after transit or reflection monochrome lights from the surface of a studied sample. The wavefronts creates picture with deformed interference strips , which carries information about character of the surface. This information can be profited by algorithms of image processing from the picture . The thesis was developed in research project MSM 0021630529 Intelligent Systems in Automation.

Rewrites of the caracter of Merlin

The character of Merlin, closely related to the legend of the king Arthur, fascinate readers and writers for already several centuries. Nevertheless, for many people, readers or not, his real nature remains hidden under the image of a wizard. But this literary character hides more aspects, which are revealed by this work. The first part tries to elucidate particular aspects of the medieval literary creation, which is specific by the anonymity, the heterogeneity and by the fact of rewrites. At the same time it describes the historical background, in which the Arthurian legend and the character of Merlin were born. These two facts are underlying for the enumeration of the occurrences of Merlin in the medieval literature. The description of these texts outlines the evolution of this character, departing from the Welsh prophetic verse, over the Latin texts of Geoffrey of Monmouth to French romans of 12th and 13th century. The presence of Merlin in the Welsh tradition of prophetic verse let guess the relation of this character with Celtic origin, transferred by the oral tradition. The second part of this work, tries to describe the reminiscence of ancient societies (Indo-European and Celtic) that have influenced the cultural and social evolution of important part of Europe. Sports career biography of Imrich Bugar

Title: Sports career biography of Imrich Bugár Objectives: The main aim of this paper is to evaluate and present a twenty-year long sports career of discus-thrower Imrich Bugár by the means of content analysis of newspaper articles published in the journal Czechoslovakian sport. Methods: Biographic research was used as one kind of a case study. The paper is divided into three main parts. The first part is concerned with the summary of all newspaper articles written during Bugár's sports career. I have statistically categorized the articles according to the criteria stated by Jan Volf in his diploma paper of 2007. The second part of the paper is concerned with information gained from Imrich Bugár personally, during a conducted interview. The third part shows a summary of Bugár's best achievements. Results: Based on the accessible materials, I have described and evaluated the sports career of Imrich Bugár. In total, I have evaluated n = 348 articles concerned with his sports career. The next part presents a commented evaluation of the conducted interview with Imrich Bugár. When categorization of the articles is taken into account, most articles about the course of Bugár's career are of an informative character and describe his participation in competitions. Landscape Management for increase of Vodňany attractiveness

This Bachelor thesis deals with landscape management in Vodnany surrounding. Its aim is to evaluate the condition of the landscape using the coefficient of ecological stability, territorial system of ecological stability, landscape character and places of interest and subsequently to propose measures to restore basic ecological functions of the landscape but also to make the area more attractive and increase the options of its recreational use. These proposals are processed for possible use in the context of comprehensive land adjustments. In the Northwest Territory the model solution of Landscape Park of Vodnany is expected to be created which will be connected to the newly built forest park in the urban town area.
