Epidemiological situation of scabies incidence in the Czech Republic within period 2003 - 2012
KUCHAŘOVÁ, Eliška
Theoretical part of dissertation was written on the basis of studying professional literature. It provides overview of Scabies disease, its epidemiological incidence, transmission, clinical course, diagnostics and also of its treatment. Practical part was formed retrospectively by qualitative research and secondary data analysis. These data were collected from different publications from the State Health Institute in Prague and the Health Information and Statistics Institute in the Czech Republic. The main aim of this dissertation was analyzing the trend of scabies incidence in the Czech Republic within ten years period (2003 2012). Moreover the practical part of this dissertation contains information related to trends of scabies incidence in individual districts of the Czech Republic depending on age, sex, team, seasonal index, or epidemiological scabies incidence as occupational disease. Linear regression was used to assess the incidence trend. Subsequently correlations were ascertained by using method of correlation coefficient calculation. In the research it was found that registered scabies incidence seems to more likely be decreasing from the beginning of followed period (i.e. from the beginning of 2003). According to the seasonal index the most common incidence of this disease within followed period was in October. On the other hand the lowest scabies incidence was in June. The highest sickness rate was recorded in the district Ústí nad Labem with almost 50 cases per 100 000 inhabitants. Scabies as occupational disease belongs to the most common recorded transmissible and parasitic disease in the Czech Republic, mainly at nurses in the hospitals, attendants in retirement homes, in internal wards and in social care institutes. The highest incidence rate was notified in age categories from 5 to 9 years. There exists strong positive linear correlation between scabies incidence and age. Epidemiological scabies incidence in the Czech Republic had two main peaks during period 1965 2012, in 1970 and 1993.

Nutrition of children and adolescents with cancer
VLKOVÁ, Lucie
Diagnosis and treatment of these diseases are still significantly improving and it turns out that nutrition is a significant part of the outcome. But it can be sometimes difficult or even impossible for the patient to follow dietary guidelines. It's possible that patients can have problems with food intake, their taste can alter altogether, or some food can even raise the need to vomit. Furthermore, food doesn't fulfill just biological needs, but it's a significant for psychological needs, too. It's therefore necessary to look at this issue from broader point of view. The aim of this thesis was to describe the composition and serving methods of nutritious meals in various stages of treatment of children and adolescents with cancer, and to map the experiences as well as view of young patients, their families and their nursing staff on whether and how it is possible to meet the nutritional recommendations while satisfying taste preferences of children. I was looking for answers to two research questions: 1. How has the method of service and the composition of diet been changing throughout the treatment in order to maintain sufficient nutrition? 2. What are the views of young patients, their parents and their attending physicians on the possibilities of maintaining nutritional recommendations? The text is divided into two parts: theory and research. The theoretical part describes the Pediatric Oncology issues and the most common types of cancer in young patients, it also mentions the possibilities of prevention. Then this part deals with side effects of cancer therapy, changes in metabolism, malnutrition, cancer cachexia and anorexia. The biggest part is devoted to nutrition nutritional status assessment, nutritional needs and forms of nutritional support. The last section contains recommendations for situations with food intake complications and the ways of increasing the nutritional contents of diet. Due to complexity of the topic I chose a mixed research strategy, several different methods of collecting and processing of data as well as questioning of various groups of respondents. I was observing 45 oncology patients children and adolescents aged 4 to 18, who are undergoing treatment at the Clinic of Pediatric Oncology in Brno, their parents (7) and their nursing staff (2). The data processing method was qualitative and quantitative analysis of questionnaire responses, interviews content analysis, observation, creation of case study, calculations of menus from the program "Nutriservis Profesional". Results are presented in graphs, tables and plain text. It's divided into three subsections. The composition and method of serving the nutritional meals depends on the needs of patients, their age, diagnosis, treatment and complications, which occur in the course of treatment. It also depends on the cooperation of patients themselves and their families. Different approach is with adolescent patients and with children as well as when they're treated at home or in the hospital. At some stages it is necessary to adjust the nutritional diet to have an adequate nutrition, at other stages the nutritional support is in sipping and when there are complications, which accompany the treatment, the method of service is changed into oral, by probe, or parenterally. Keeping of dietary recommendations represent a significant problem for these patients, which are troubles with food intake during the treatment (95% of patients). Due to children's taste preferences are some forms of nutritional support rejected, even though they are able to maintain the nutritional recommendations. Both young patients as well as their parents have preference for children's taste rather than nutrition. There were some exceptions, however. Opinions of the nursing staff are the same it all depends on the attitude of patients themselves and their families.

The current situation of Social Services, comparation with the legal adjustment after January 1,2007.
SERBUSOVÁ, Martina
{\clqq}Everyone is equal before the law{\crqq} which applies also for the field of social services since 1st January 2007 because after many years of preparatory stages Act n. 108/2006 Sb. On Social Services entered in force. This act having been passed means a break through moment for social workers, social services providers as well as for the citizens and beneficiaries of social benefits and services. The paper is divided in a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part I dealt with the development of social services, introduction of the new Act n. 108/2006 Sb. On Social Services into our social system and I compared the allowance for attendance of a next of kin or other person according to Act n. 100/1998 Sb. On Social Welfare and the attendance allowance according to Act n. 108/2006 Sb. On Social Services. In the practical part I concentrated solely on the attendance allowance since, according to my point of view, this is the greatest change the new Act On Social Services brought about and it plays a very important part in this field. The research was carried out using the questionnaire research method. The questionnaire was filled out by social workers employed in the attendance allowance department at local authorities of communities with extended powers in South Bohemia. 57 questionnaires were handed out, 48 of which were in total used for the paper. Graphs were used to evaluate the research part. The goal of the paper was the assessment using the SWOT analysis of the allowance for attendance of a next of kin or other person according to Act n. 100/1998 Sb. On Social Welfare and the attendance allowance according to Act n. 108/2006 Sb. On Social Services. Regarding this goal the following hypothesis was set: Social workers consider the attendance allowance according to Act n. 108/2006 Sb. On Social Services offering more strong points and more opportunities than the allowance for attendance of a next of kin or other person according to Act n. 100/1998 Sb. On Social Welfare. Results of the carried out research confirm this hypothesis. In spite of other problems that are to be dealt with in connection with this Act, we can presume that the introduction of the attendance allowance into the system of social services was and shall be the right step.

Harsa, Pavel ; Žukov, Ilja (advisor) ; Hynek, Karel (referee) ; Kratochvíl, Stanislav (referee)
We have tried in doctoral thesis to objectively verify usability of questionnaires and projective methods in evaluation of aggressiveness of psychiatric patients. In the theoretical part of the study we discuss definitions of aggression and aggressiveness. There is a number of theoretic interpretations of aggressiveness and aggression in which these general terms are characterized. Most authors and single theory are in full agreement of views that there are two types of aggression, aceptable and unacceptable for society. We have aimed at bio-psycho-social aspects of aggression and the structure of aggressive personality. Nowadays there are many branches of science, which are engaged in aggressiveness, for example genetics, biology and psychology. It is evidence to support the view that aggressiveness is a serious problem in human society. At the same timee it is difficult to find empiric assessment of aggression. (...) In conclusion: These results verify clinical and forensic experience with assessment and measurement of aggressiveness. Test methods show much more general temperament dispositions, tendency to emotional reaction and to explosive reactions. Information and experience from this thesis could be helpful for assessment of emotional aggression in psychiatric patients and for forensic practie....
