Historia S. Joannis Nepomuceni of 1729 and its period translations
Bočková, Alena ; Svatoš, Martin (advisor) ; Juríková, Erika (referee) ; Hojda, Zdeněk (referee)
Grounded by studie s of early modem Czech and Latin literature, this dissertation examines the work of a Jesuit historian Maximilianus Wietrowsky Historia S. Joannis Nepomuceni (1729) and its Czech translation Zpráva historická o životě sv. Jana Nepomuckého [Historical Report on the Life oj Saint John ojNepomuk] (1730). Apart from analysing both works from literary-historical, linguistic, stylistic and translational points of view, the thesis attempts to depict their wider cultural-historical context and to appreciate the important elements pertaining to the time ofthe works' birth and their content. In the introduction, the thesis is concemed with the question of authorship ofboth the Latin original and its Czech translation. After careful examination of a mostly manuscriptial body of sources, the author succeeded in finding grounds on which it is possible to assume that the author of the Latin version is indeed Maximilianus Wietrowsky (1660-1737), whose authorship has been indicated - without sufficient evidence - in historical literature. The analysis of the Czech translation, on the other hand, seems to disprove Wietrowsky's authorship of the Czech version.

THE COLLATION A REGULATION OF FUNDAMENTAL INSTITUTES OF HOUSING COOPERATIVES IN POLAND AND THE CZECH REPUBLIC This work aims to capture qualities and shortcomings of the legislation in one of the important sectors of housing, the cooperative sector, in the context of a comparison of the two national legislations - in the Czech Republic and Poland. In both compared legislations, cooperative has its special character and long-standing tradition, which was introduced immediately in the introductory sections. The cooperative sector is the merit of this work. The issue of housing is always up to date, moreover, in practice we many time encounter with the uncertainties associated with the housing issue. Cooperative law in the area of housing is interesting in particular, with regard to incompleteness, and, in some cases, to insufficiency of Czech legislation, distinguish it from, more or less, consistent realization of housing cooperatives in Poland. Although both legislations have similar sources and traditions, and their characteristic developments, in the field of the law the willingness of legislators to adapt an important part of ensuring significantly differs from the housing requirements of the population. In the Czech legal system is a cooperative law captured only in a few provisions of the...

Petříková, Anna
The diploma thesis deals with contemporary czech rural countryside in European context. It is divided into theoretical and several proposal parts. In theoretical part the issue is described more generally, but taking into consideration the character of the territory chosen for proposal part. This theoretical part is further divided into sub-chapters, in which the number of reference cases from Czech Republic and abroad is included. This part of the thesis shows that the solution of contemporary rural areas difficulties is based on qualities and identity of particular rural space and it is not desirable to approach this space as a homogenous environment. The proposal part of the thesis is divided into two sections. The first section introduces space-analysis. It includes the starting points, that summarise the problems found in the territory in three thematic areas. These are discussed in the second section of the proposal part. The first theme deals with space regulation on housing development. Here, the author presents a draft of housing regulation in the scattered housing village and acording to own methodology aims to stop the undesirable housing development into the landscape. At the same time, the chosen method of regulation preserves the mosaic character of submontane scatterd housing village. The second theme is dedicated to create space for alternative types of transport, particularly cycling, in the way to help relieve the consequence of automobilism in rural space. Also, there is the proposal of the pedestrial circular route as a possibility of leisure activity in various environment and as a connection of public space points with civic amenities. The third theme deals with those particular public points. Chosen public space areas are significant mainly as a meeting points and amenity centers. Do women with children have lower wage rate than childless women?
Lukášová, Nikola ; Brožová, Dagmar (advisor) ; Čermáková, Klára (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to demonstrate if women with children in the Czech Republic have a lower wage rate than childless women. The data from WageIndicator Foundation was processed by using the the least squares method. The conclusion is that motherhood has a negative impact on salaries. I also found that the depreciation of human capital influences only women with two or more children. It can be caused by the lenght of maternity leave. The main finding is that the wage penalty for motherhood actually exists. And the society and politicians should give the motherhood penalty more attention in the future.

Finanční ohodnocení krásy krajiny - metoda CVM
Cudlínová, Eva ; Lapka, Miloslav
Evaluation of landscape amenity is not very common and relatively difficult from the economic point of view. In our case study focused on comparing aesthetic preferences of Czech and Japan respondents regarding rural landscape. We used the contingent valuation method. We also wanted to reveal the respondent’s preferences in a financial form. These preferences served us as quantitative indicator for an attestation of the respondent’s qualitative preferences. It seemed that a strong correlation between the aesthetical and financial evaluation exist in two extreme cases – respondents were not interested, or they were strongly involved in landscape amenity. A substantial difference occured between the Czech and Japanese respondents in the case of case of open or closed access to the landscape.

Development of professional and public policy discourse in certain documents of antidrug policy in the Czech Republic
Chmelová, Eliška ; Mouralová, Magdalena (advisor) ; Nekola, Martin (referee)
This paper deals with a development of certain aspects of discourse between authors of technical and policy science papers pertaining to antidrug policies in time period of 1993 - 2010. The basic question of my research is: What kind of discourse has been taking place among the authors of these documents? I try to asses whether this discourse has changed over the years and how. I analyze those selected documents that were essential for establishing of antidrug policy and development this policy has undergone from the beginning until now. My paper examines progress and changes in labeling the problem itself, labeling of actual users and approach to proposed solutions. Analysis of content focuses on hidden meanings in the language used and uncovers attitudes and opinions of the authors in regard of drug problem. My study also describes the development of antidrug policy in Czech Republic during the above mentioned period and in this context describes and labels those aspects of system of values that have served as basis for key documents of antidrug policy. As a theoretical framework I have chosen a theory based on premiss that language used by authors of the documents also has impact on the situation of the actual users themselves.

Criminal activity releated to the use of illegal drugs
NOVÁK, Martin
In my thesis I deal with illegal drug use leading to criminality. Drug abuse has been a debated issue recently because drugs are omnipresent in our society. Illegal drug use has been a serious problem worldwide. Due to its geographical location, shortly after 1989 and after the fall of the Iron Curtain the Czech Republic has become both a transit and a destination country for all sorts of drugs within a short time. The objective of my thesis is to examine, describe and analyse the overall criminality in the Prague area in 2005 {--} 2007. The other concern of my research was to determine the drug addicts´ contribution in proportion to the overall criminality. I set three hypotheses: H I : The most common drug addicts´criminal activity is theft. H II : Most drug addicted criminal offenders are male. H III : The most common drug being abused is pervitin. The thesis is divided into two parts {--} theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part the development of the drug scene in the Czech Republic and crimes committed by drug addicts are described. I also give information on detection, investigation and criminal sanctions in criminality caused by drug addicts. I gathered the data from specialist literature. In the practical part I used the technique of the secondary statistical data analysis. I analysed the statistical data from 2005 {--} 2007 obtained from the Police of the Czech Republic Headquarters. The research was conducted by the quantitative questionnaire method and the data obtained were analysed. The data were put into charts and diagrams. All the hypotheses suggested were confirmed. The objective of my thesis was accomplished.
