Housing Policy and Programs Supporting Family Behaviour
Sunega, Petr ; Lux, Martin
The study focus on the question if direct relationship between housing availability, which is influenced also by state interventions in the housing market, and forming of new families can be proved. Two basic hypotheses were tested: 1) if recent housing subsidies (housing policy programmes) increase the availability and affordability of housing for young lower/middle income households, and 2) if recent housing policy programmes create incentives for increasing marriage and birth rate regardless the age and income of the households.

The impact of South China Sea dispute on trade relations between China and Vietnam
Nguyen Hong, Viet ; Vlčková, Jana (advisor) ; Hasík, Gabriel (referee)
This bachelor thesis investigates the impact of South China Sea dispute on mutual relations between China and Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Thesis lays great emphasis on the analysis of mutual trading relations. The goal of this work is to find out if the dispute over territory has negative influence on mutual relations and to what extent. Therefore, thesis is divided into 3 main chapters. The introductory chapter describes position and development of each country. Second chapter uses findings from the introductory part for the analysis of political and trade relations of both countries. It focuses on the history of mutual relations and mainly it lays emphasis on current mutual relations. Last chapter of the thesis is dedicated to the issues regarding South China Sea. Motives and causes of this dispute are described in this chapter. It provides a view on the course of this territorial dispute, and also impacts on mutual relations are analyzed. The output of all three chapters helps to formulate following conclusion. Dispute over South China Sea has impact on mutual relations. Predominantly, it influences political relations between China and Vietnam, therefore, this dispute is often mentioned in media. However, according to available data this dispute has not had major effect on trading relations. Mutual trading between both countries went off in dispute period without any limitations and barriers.

Passivation of Aluminum and Aluminum Alloys in passivation baths without Cr6+ Compounds
Macháč, Pavel ; Tulka,, Jaromír (referee) ; Molliková, Eva (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with evaluation of efficiency of protection conversion coatings created by passivation metals and alloys in passivation baths without chromium compounds. The theoretical part is initially concerned with question of electrochemical corrosion of metals, consequently there are mentioned different methods of corrosion protection. The main section of theoretical part of this thesis deals with chromate conversion coatings, description of their protective efficiency (including their unique self-healing effect) and then with account of new chromate-free conversion coatings occurring as chromate alternatives, whose usage is constrained because of their content of hexavalent chromium, which is highly toxic, oxidizing and also carcinogenic and thereby very dangerous for human body and the environment. Experimental part of this thesis is concerned with evaluation of efficiency of particular conversion coating which is quite commonly use in some applications as chromate alternative. It is chromate-free conversion coating which is created by passivation of metals or alloys in passivation bath Pragokor BP, which contains zirconium fluorocomplexes and is without any chromium or other toxic or ecologically unhealthy compounds. The influence of sealing of the coating in preparation Pragokor Seal Al and also other surface treatments such as application of conservation wax WAXENG or cold application of zinc coating were tested too. Efficiency of mentioned surface treatments was then evaluated on aluminum and steel by laboratory accelerated and atmospheric corrosion testing.

Resource-based classification of habitats of Central European macro-moths
PAVLÍKOVÁ, Anežka
To be used as a predictive conservation tool, classification of animal habitats should rely on actual resource requirements of individual species. Shreeve et al. (2001) illustrated this for British butterflies (J. Insect Conserv. 5, 145-161). To test this approach for a group with less-known distribution and biology, I produced a resource-based classification of habitats of Central European moths. I considered macrolepidopteran families except the megadiverse Geometridae and Noctuidae. Our data consisted of 179 binomically-coded traits for 164 species. I used PCA to ordinate the moths according to their resources, and compared resulting classification with external ecological data. The moths formed five groups: (i) associated with dense arboreal vegetation; (ii) associated with grasslands of herb layer; (iii) associated with sparse woody vegetation; (iv) early successional hawk moths; and (v) lichen-feeding arctiids. The classification was also robust after deleting hostplant taxonomy. Groups (i), (ii) and (iii) sustained control for taxonomic position, whereas (iv) and (v) did not. The groups differed in the representation of biogeographic elements, size-classes of distribution ranges, pest species, and Red-listed species. Endangered species were over-represented in (ii) and (iii) and underrepresented in (i). These preliminary results illustrate the utility of this resource-based approach for predictive inference in conservation.

Position and perspectives of the oil-refining industry - comparison of Central and Eastern European Countrie
Kuznetsova, Evgenia ; Černá, Iveta (advisor) ; Taušer, Josef (referee)
Being non-renewable source of energy, oil maintains the largest contributor to the energy mix of all counties in the world. Consequently, oil-refining industry is a field of particular concern for the governments and society. This work focuses on oil-refining industry in the countries of Eastern and Central Europe. This topic is very sensitive for CEE counties due to continuously rising energy prices, vulnerability of the supply security and current EC regulations concerning emissions trade and common environment policy. This thesis aims to answer to question what will happen to the industry in CEE counties after implication of new EC regulations and development of the renewable sources of energy. For this purpose, SWOT analysis of the industry in different counties was performed, highlighting major strengths and potential threats. Further analysis describes major mergers and acquisitions in the industry, FDI and current problems of trade imbalance. Particular attention is given to the security of supply and dangerous dependency on the crude oil imports. The results show that some EC policies and regulations could be potentially perilous for the counties which have large crude reserves and developed oil-refining and petrochemical industry, influencing such factors as cost of production and competitiveness of the product in the market. However, further development of renewable sources is often the only option available for the counties with no fossil fuel reserves and poor developed refining infrastructure, aimed to eliminate ever-increasing energy dependency.

Effectiveness of Czech social and migration policy claims to separated children
Svobodová, Lenka ; Tomeš, Igor (advisor) ; Khollová, Petra (referee)
The children and youth unaccompanied by parents or other legal guardians are called separated children or unaccompanied minors in the Czech Republic. The questions of separated children have been met in the Czech Republic since the end of 90s, when these questions have begun to be systematically solved together with questions of children social and legal protection. The unaccompanied minors are highly protected because of their age, the situation in which they are and for the reason of international treaties, pacts and conventions and the Czech law. The separated children care system, its progress, description, process and quality with the inclusion of its international and the Czech legal framework, are described in this thesis. The separated children care system (for purpose of this thesis) is process which starts from identification of unaccompanied minors, continue by social and legal protection and institutional care of this children and is over when they get full age. The main aim of this thesis was to find out how the Czech social and migration policy claims to separated children, if it is sufficient in the using of care system which is provided to unaccompanied minors. There was a case study method to achieve this aim. The case studies helped to describe practical care system and to compare...

Cooperation with incomplete monitoring
Caisl, Jakub ; Bauer, Michal (advisor) ; Červinka, Michal (referee)
We approach the topic of provision of public goods in an experimental economic study using the Public Goods Game setting. We allow subjects to punish each other but vary the structure and amount of information they can base their decisions upon. We try to add to the current literature on reciprocity and study whether people are willing to punish under such incomplete information. Since punishment under uncertain conditions can be quite destructive in terms of welfare, this closely relates to whether people are able to provide public good themselves or whether they need some external assistance. In terms of public policy, this can add to the debate on when should government provide certain services and when it should be left to individuals. In terms of behaviour inside of an enterprise, our study could be well applied to problems that arise when teams work on a common project but some people free-ride on effort of others.

Confidence Cycles and Liquidity Hoarding
Audzei, Volha
Market confidence has proved to be an important factor during past crises. However, many existing general equilibrium models do not account for agents’ expectations, market volatility, or overly pessimistic investor forecasts. In this paper, we incorporate a model of the interbank market into a DSGE model, with the interbank market rate and the volume of lending depending on market confidence and the perception of counterparty risk. In our model, a credit crunch occurs if the perception of counterparty risk increases. Our results suggest that changes in market confidence can generate credit crunches and contribute to the depth of recessions. We then conduct an exercise to mimic some central bank policies: targeted and untargeted liquidity provision, and reduction of the policy rate. Our results indicate that policy actions have a limited effect on the supply of credit if they fail to influence agents’ expectations. Interestingly, a policy of a low policy rate worsens recessions due to its negative impact on banks’ revenues. Liquidity provision stimulates credit slightly, but its efficiency is undermined by liquidity hoarding.

Labour Immigration of Turks to Germany and the Developement of German Immigration and Integration Policy
Dumont, Anna ; Kučera, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Filipová, Lucie (referee)
My Bachelor's thesis, "Labour Immigration of Turks to Germany and the Development of German Immigration and Integration Policy" deals with Turkish guest workers' arrival and subsequent settlement in Germany and the conditions they have been living in. The first part of my thesis is devoted to the evolution of Turkish labour immigration and a discussion of its influence on and co-evolution with German immigration and integration policy. The second part is addressed to the acceptance shown by the majority of Germany society of contemporary Turkish immigrants' integration and uses as examples the development of two important public or human rights. The first of these rights is freedom of religion, which contains both freedom of religion at school, and the right to build mosques in German cities. The second is the right to political participation for Turkish residents who are either German citizens or who have permanent residency, but not citizenship. The thesis tries to answer the questions of how successful integration has been and whether or not Germany has found the right balance between democratic values and the cultural diversity brought by having a large Muslim minority. The thesis as well touches on the biggest problems of the second and third generations of Turkish immigrants which are a lack of...
