Nursing care of the patients with chronic pancreatitis
SKOŘEPOVÁ, Jana
Chronic pancreatitis is a serious disease, which despite the rapid development of diagnostics and treatment is often diagnosed in late stages. The disease cannot actually be cured, but change of lifestyle and adherence to diet regimen can influence not only the disease course and progression, but also occurrence of complications. This thesis deals with the problems of nursing care of patients with chronic pancreatitis, with the level of awareness of the disease and the regimen measures among patients. It also monitors willingness and ability of respondents to accept the change of lifestyle and diet habits. The goal of the thesis is to find out the specifics of nursing care of clients with chronic pancreatitis. Qualitative research methods were applied in the empiric part of the thesis to achieve the goal. The research was performed in clients with chronic pancreatitis visiting the gastroenterology outpatient department of Tábor Hospital and a group of ten respondents at different stages of the disease were subject to the research. Their selection was conditioned by their willingness to participate in the research and to cooperate. A semi-structured interview was conducted with each respondent. Thorough study of these problems and the results of the research led to a brief and clear information brochure for people suffering from chronic pancreatitis as the output of the activities. This manual should serve as a summary and specification of information, which the patient can read at home without fuss after being educated orally. With regard to the achievements of our work we would like to make this work and its results available to the nursing care public as much as possible. We hope that the results of our work will increase interest in this issue among professionals and will address further workers willing to participate in its solution

Sub-Saharan economies need structural changes that would enhance their productivity, increase economic growth and development. In this regard, industrialization plays a key role. Using regression analysis, the aim of this dissertation thesis is to identify main factors (determinants) of industrialization in sub-Saharan Africa. The results indicate that infrastructure and economy size (measured by population size) represent main determinants of industrialization in the region. The thesis also deals with possibilities for development of those determinants. Case study of infrastructure development in Mauritius emphasizes privatization, cooperation with external subjects etc. Negative consequences of small economy size can be overcome by preferential trade agreements (under certain circumstances), as shown by analysis of the three smallest economies in the region.

VOLENÍKOVÁ, Kateřina
Current status: The issue of medical errors has recently gotten considerable attention among organizations at the global and national levels. Obtained data were tested in SPSS version 16.0. For statistical testing Person's chi-square and sign scheme was elected. Research group: The research survey addressed 301 non-medical staff of Krajské zdravotní a.s. Masarykova nemocnice, o. z. (Regional Health a.s. Masaryk Hospital) in Ústí nad Labem and Krajské nemocnici Liberec, a.s. (Liberec Regional Hospital) Results: The survey results showed that the surveyed health care professionals assess the organizational culture as friendly. The respondents indicated that they are praised by the manager for conducting their work safely and that they can suggest changes in management practices. The results showed that addressed health care professionals support each other (58.1%) and cooperate better (72.4%). According to the respondents, better teamwork leads to better patient safety. An analysis of the results shows that health professionals have an active approach to safe care (82.7%) and in their opinion, errors and mistakes lead to improved patient safety (40.9%). Paramedics have confirmed that they receive feedback on reported incidents (37.9%). Based on team discussion about errors the respondents' evaluation of patient safety has significantly improved. An analysis of respondents' answers revealed a lack of reporting of adverse events. Most respondents consider the number of staff in the workplace deficient (42.5%). Conclusion: Hospital management should be involved in changing the detection of individual errors from individual to systemic. In order to improve the safety culture there should be regular supervision or teambuilding activities that support the development of teamwork. Feedback on the results of reporting errors must be given in an appropriate way to motivate staff to continue to report future errors. The results require a change in how medical staff report errors and greater consistency among management when checking reports. Complaints of work overload by medical personnel must be taken seriously. Improvements can be brought about by changes to work organization or the use of temporary workers.
