Development of testing equipment for measuring mechanical properties of cancellous bone
Jiroušek, Ondřej ; Jírová, Jitka ; Vavřík, Daniel
Development of experimental procedures used for evaluation of mechanical properties of cancellous bone using small samples of cylindrical shape. Both the compressive and tensile specimens are tested while for the strain measurement an optical method utilizing CCD camera of high resolution is used. The procedure is used to assess the relationship between the apparent density of the cancellous bone in Hounsfield units obtained from computer tomography scans and viscoelastic material properties used in finite element modeling of whole bones.

Ownership of land and its transfer as reflected by tax legislation
Masopust, Karel ; Novotný, Petr (advisor) ; Vondráčková, Pavlína (referee)
Ownership and transfers of land in the persperctive of tax law Main purpose of this thesis is to present all taxes which are levied on ownership or transfers of land arising from any legal title. Subject of the thesis are not only taxes typically connected with land, such as land tax or real estate transfer tax but also personal income tax, corporate income tax and value added tax. The main reason of my choice of this subject was my natural interest in this area and connection between public and private law which is very strong in the matter in question. Financial law is typical public law and tax law is one branch of financial law. However, the subject of taxation is land in this thesis. The owneship of land, as an essential base of all human activity, is the basic subject of private law. The mixture of the two is therefore unique. Chapter Two introduces tax law area and main definitions are descibed here. Attention is also focused on the definition of land and its picture in current law. Another area descibed there are principles of evaluation of property according to Czech law. Also historical development of tax law in area of Czech republic is included there. The subparagraph starts with establisment of Czechoslovakia and ends with its disunion. Chapter Three explains construction of land tax in Czech...

Frolov, Oleksandr ; Koláček, Karel ; Štraus, Jaroslav ; Schmidt, Jiří ; Boháček, Vladislav ; Prukner, Václav
A new pulse capillary discharge driver with a laser-triggered main spark gap has been developed. The assembled CAPEX-U device consists of a Marx generator, of a pulse forming line, a gas-filled laser-triggered spark gap and a ceramic capillary. Its design was supported by mapping of electrostatic fields in the most exposed regions and by analysis of an equivalent circuit. Operation of the laser-triggered spark gap was tested on a single-channel model. In the paper, the results of the modelling and of the first electrical tests of the whole device (capillary current and voltage at the end of pulse forming line) are presented.

Meluzín, Petr ; Horáček, Miroslav ; Urbánek, Michal ; Bok, Jan ; Krátký, Stanislav ; Matějka, Milan ; Chlumská, Jana ; Kolařík, Vladimír
E-beam lithography is a flexible technology for diffraction gratings origination. Nevertheless, requirements of the high optical quality of large area diffractive structures imply various severe challenges to e-beam delineating processes. This paper summarizes the e-beam process parameters that influence the quality of large area grating structures. Next, we propose some new methods to prepare diffraction gratings that were found to be useful for testing and benchmarking purposes. Those methods include single line gratings, labyrinth structures, fractional structures, tiling patterns, quasi regular filling structures and forked line structures. Various samples were prepared with the standard and newly developed e-beam patterning processes using both e-beam writers available: one with the Gaussian beam at 100 keV and another one with the shaped beam at 15 keV. Some of the results are presented further in this paper, their variants and parameters are discussed as well as their usefulness as benchmarking e-beam patterns for large area optical structures, elements and devices.

The Developement of Art Creativity through Project Method
MACHÝČKOVÁ, Veronika
The thesis deals with general creativity and creativity development of adolescent children by the means of project method. Theoretical part describes creativity as a term, its factors and levels. It further characterizes these terms: creative activity, creation, creative thinking, brainware, and creative experience. Extending Java PathFinder with Behavior Protocols
Plšek, Aleš ; Kofroň, Jan (referee) ; Adámek, Jiří (advisor)
The Component-based programming is an aproach to efficient development of software applications, where Behavior protocol is a formalism used for behavior specification of components. To further ease the development of a component application, System Correctness analysis is employed to discover errors at the designe time. However, without verifying that a component implementation complies with its behavior protocol, the analysis of the system could be based on unsatisfied property. This thesis addresses the problem of verification that a component implementation adheres to its behavior protocol. By employing Java PathFinder Model Checker it offers an ambitious solution which is successfully addressing one of the issues of the software component development.

The structural and the fundamental mechanical properties of intermatallics on the base of TiAl
Krahula, Karel ; Dlouhý, Ivo
Gamma TiAl alloys are emerging as a pervasive structural material. Remarkable progresses have been made through refining lamellar microstructure and grains, microalloying, chemistry modification, process development and/or their combination. The main thrust was to enhance resistance to creep deformation, oxidation and high cycle fatigue deformation/failure. Less or even no knowledge have been obtained in the field of the intermetalics fracture at uniaxial or bending loading, there are missing data about their behaviour at the presence of cracks and other defects. The reason is simply in the other properties that are key from application point of view. Due to their brittleness at temperature close to room temperature the investigation of the intermetalics fracture is complicated but promissible provided it bring ideas for the further development of the alloying and microstructure. The paper is focused on the first steps in this field.

Clinical information systems. Quality in clinical information systems
KÝČEK, Michal
In its theoretical part, this work deals with hospital information systems, their properties and development trends in the world, in Czech Republic and in the faculty Hospital in Plzeň in particular. A special reason for taking up this subject was the on-going transition to digital operation at the RTG departament of said hospital. Pictorial documentacion in digital form is presently becoming standard part of the medical do-cumentacion. The X-ray photographs can now be viewed at any client station of the hospital information system. As the existing stations were not originally intended for visualisation of pictorial medical documentacion, image quality tests have been carried out to determine the suitability of the station monitors for such operation. The main target of this work was to identify, using the technical tools available ath the RTG departament, a suitable image quality test, to verify its informative value and compare the existing hospital information system stations with dedicated diagnostic work station primarily intended for visualisation of medical X-ray documentation. The practical part of this work consisted of two tests using special graphic images and real patient`s X-ray picture including a specific diagnostic feature. A method of controlled interview was then used to establish the image quality and the degree of certainty with which that the doctors could identify the subject diagnostic feature. The test results were subject to statistical analysis using the linear regression analytic method whereby the informative value of the tests was determined. Finally, the operational properties of diagnostic work stations were compared to those of the hospital information system. In consideration of the small number of stations subjects to tests, the statistic analysis of this comparison was not carried out.
