Design of a Manufacturing Process Management
Hala, Filip ; Stárek, Roman (referee) ; Videcká, Zdeňka (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to create and apply a methodology to improve the manufacturing process. Processes for the passage of a contract through the company and activities of the foreman were analyzed. According to this analysis, a methodology was created for continuous improvement of the manufacturing process. This methodology was applied to the data obtained in the analysis. Based on the application of the methodology, actions have been proposed to improve the production process.
Implementing SPC in the Production Process
Dostál, Petr ; Macháček, Martin (referee) ; Bartes, František (advisor)
The thesis deals with implementing of statistical process control (SPC) on CNC cut center into the mechanic production. One part of the project is engaged in theoretical information gathering, process monitoring and data collection. Second part deals with stabilization, regulation and improvement of the process using right statistical instruments. As a result is implementing measuring station from where will be the process data transferred to a server and evaluated. On the basis of that is possible to implement a correction in the right time if the process isn´t stabilized. The main objectives of the thesiss are cost reduction, scrap reduction and modernization of the process.
Improving quality within the ski resort Špindlerův Mlýn
Šebková, Lenka ; Svobodová, Hana (advisor) ; Mach, Aleš (referee)
The master thesis is focused on mapping of all the processes that customer goes through before achieving the skiing activity in ski resort Špindlerův Mlýn, currently operated by MELIDA, a.s. In the theoretical part services specifications, Six Sigma methodology and Key Performance Indicators basics are briefly described. The practical part consists of introduction of the ski area, measuring and mapping processes in combination with weak points identification. In order to eliminate weak points previously identified, the process of getting feedbacks from customers was introduced. As a result of this process, actions to eliminate the weak spots, were proposed and will be implemented. In order to maintain the appropriate structure of the thesis, Six Sigma methodology procedures and instruments, were used.
Management of Field Workers of a selected Firm
Kameník, Lukáš ; Černý, Jan (advisor) ; Vlček, Oldřich (referee)
This master thesis is devoted to the elements and principles of management. The master thesis deals with the management of field workers of a selected company and subsequent optimization of this procedure. The main aim of master thesis is to optimize the selected decision problem. Based on the analysis of field workers activities is determined significant managerial decision problem. To solve this decision problem is compiled mathematical model and the individual alternative solutions are determined. Based on the individual steps of managerial decision the final recommendations of variant for solving this decision problem is made. The work is devided into two parts, theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part we acquaint ourselves with the problems with the help of scientific literature. The practical part deals with the use of the scientific literature in practice in order to optimize decision-making problem and management field workers of a selected company.
NPM: Optimalizace nákupního procesu
Martinovová, Nikola ; Pilař, Tomáš (advisor) ; Dvořák, Jiří (referee)
The theoretical part will be focused on presenting information within the process management. Some of the pieces of this theoretical information will be were slightly modified by internal Continental procedures and applied in the practical part of the thesis in order to redesign current purchasing process of non production material. The contents of the practical part of this thesis are the analysis of the current purchasing process of non-production material in the plant of Continental. The intention is to identify the waste and obstacles in the process. The main target is to improve the process in consideration of efficiency, lead time reduction and, if applicable, cost savings. Once the waste in the process is identified, the 100% value added ideal state is going to be developed, under consideration of implementing the improvements, which have been identified in the current state. Based on the differences between the current state and the ideal state of the process, the future state is going to be mapped.
Process optimalization using automatic identification methods in DTZ Liberec s.r.o.
Jaša, Jakub ; Švecová, Lenka (advisor) ; Kolářová, Mirka (referee)
This diploma thesis covers the procedure of process optimalization within the project of design and implementation of automatic identification system in DTZ Liberec s.r.o. The theoretical part defines the general scope of business processes, their management and improvement. Furthermore, it gives an account of the fundaments of project management and presents the basic technologies of automatic identification, as well as possibilities for its use. The practical part describes the project and presents its outcomes. After introduction into company's situation, basic issues connected with project team assembly are outlined. The core of the practical part covers the identification of processes in areas, where automatic identification is being implemented, definition of specifics of their use and design of process changes with the goal of increasing their efficiency. In conclusion, the values of process measurement indicators, gained within the test run of the implemente system, are presented. The goal of the thesis is to propose process optimalization in chosen company using automatic identification technology.
Environmentální management ve výrobním podniku
Šrámková, Tamara
This bachelor thesis is focused on implementation the environmental management system by ISO 14001 standard in a glassmaking factory. The thesis puts emphasis mainly on expressing the economic benefits achieved by an improvement of one of production processes. The theoretical part elucidates the issue of integrated management system, environmental management system and voluntary instruments for its implementation, ISO 14001 and EMAS. Stated is a brief introduction of the implementation process with emphasis on ISO 14001 standard. Instruments are compared with each other and generally are discussed the benefits of EMS. Among others, the theoretical part introduces the financial support of implementation of EMS from the state. As far as the practical part is concerned, it extends the issue in a glassmaking factory in which EMS is not certificated. The necessary information was obtained by consultations and from the company documentation. The characteristic of the company, its attitude to the environment and reasons for the implementation EMS are described. The most important requirements of ISO 14001 are defined and the goal that could be achieved with the help of the improvement processes is determined. Also costs of implementation and costs and savings resulting from the improvement of the process are introduced. With the help of calculations, the economic benefits are ascertained. Lately, also non-economic benefits are mentioned.

Risk management processes improvement in insurance company supported by DSS and BI
Pinkas, Miroslav ; Novotný, Ota (advisor) ; Nosek, Karel (referee)
The thesis is concerned with application of Decision Support Systems and Business Intelligence as a tool for decision-making support into processes of operational risk management in insurance company to improve them and reach a higher corporate performance. The goal of the thesis is to analyze a theory for a support of a process improvement design with the mentioned reach and to develop a design of improved operational risk management processes in a particular insurance company. The mean to reach goals is through-out a literature and articles research regarding a process improvement, decision-making, models and technologies of DSS and BI, and risk management. The theoretical framework is then used as back-bone for implementation of a practical part of innovated processes design. The thesis offers the analysis of an area of risk management processes improvement via DSS and BI in an insurance company that has been researched relatively little, but whose principles can be used for improvement projects in different areas too. A department of operational risk management in a certain insurance company obtains a complete design of innovated processes including DSS / BI application support specification which respects modern techniques of process improvements involving specific methods of decision-making quality. For the same department a part of the design was implemented -- Knowledge management system, that can be fully used. Introductory part of the thesis is concerned with techniques of business process improvement and its alignment with corporate performance. The next chapter describes specifics of operational risk management processes. In the third one models, techniques, information technologies of Decision Support Systems and Business Intelligence disciplines are analyzed. The practical part of the text starts with strategic analysis of the insurance company, proceeds with operational risk management processes analysis and reaches the design of innovated processes involving DSS and BI application support. Benefits of designed processes' changes are verified. In the conclusion a certain process change is accepted for the implementation and its results are described.
