Activation teaching of geography focused on interdisciplinary relationships between history and geography

Diploma thesis deals with activating teaching at lower secondary schools. The main goal is creation of teaching materials which are possible to use in distance teaching and include interdisciplinary relations between history and geography. They should also contain the regional topics. All lessons are applied at primary school in Stachy as part of a continuous internship. The work also contains an analysis of geography and history textbooks. Evaluation of these learning texts is focused on their use in distance learning. Summary of pros and cons is shown by SWOT analysis. In theoretical part there is analysis of activation teaching methods. There is analysed also the impact of online education during the Covid-19 pandemic. The teaching materials themselves are embedded in curricular documents, i.e. in the FEP and SEP.
Entrance knowledge and ideas about european countries of pupils of 6th and 7th grade.

This diploma thesis deals with the entrance knowledge and ideas that pupils in the 6th and 7th grades of primary schools have about European countries. The resulting data came from a research survey, which was preceded by a discussion of professional literature and other sources related to the topic of the thesis and the design of the research survey itself. The analytical part of the thesis focuses on the level of input knowledge and ideas, which is compared according to the different types, location and the size of the schools surveyed. The thesis also focuses on the differences in the knowledge between grades and genders and the sources of this information. There are also several possibilities of applying these results directly to the teaching of Europe at the 1st and 2nd stage of elementary schools. The practical part of the thesis presents a proposal for teaching activities using the CLIL method, which is based on the results of the research, professional literature and practical knowledge. The activities are complemented by a methodological manual for teachers and can be used in Geography and English language.
Alternativní metody a formy ve výuce zeměpisu 2. stupně základní školy na příkladu tematického celku "Přírodní sféry Země"

The main aim of the thesis is the practical realization of the educational activities within the curriculum of geography at the secondary school created by the author and based on methods that can be considered less frequent or alternative. The thematic units in question are mainly the physico-geographical spheres of the Earth, which are usually part of "RVP ZV" and most "SVP's" documents created for the 6th grade of secondary schools. In the theoretical part the selected alternative methods from metodology literature are compiled, described and evaluated and then transferred into practice and reflected in the practical part by SWOT analys method. The concrete designed teaching units are realized by the author in the 6th grade of the secondary school in Pribyslav. In the thesis there is also a study about the classifying of the topic of "the physico-geographical spheres of the Earth" in curricular documents and a survey of implementation of geography teaching at the secondary school.
Comparison of access to geography education at Waldorf primary school and standard Czech primary school

The bachelor's thesis deals with a comparative approach to the education of geography at the classical elementary school and at the Waldorf elementary school. The theoretical part explains the educational system in the Czech Republic and presents the characteristics of traditional and alternative pedagogy. Then a type of alternative pedagogy is introduced, namely Waldorf education. At the end of this part, the subject of geography is introduced. The practical part compares the approach to the education of geography at two selected schools and seeks differences and similarities in many aspects, mainly through the method of observation and interview.

This diploma thesis focuses on the teaching of the tourism geography at the 2nd grade of the primary school. The main goal of this thesis was to create a didactic case report on the teaching of the geography of tourism at the 2nd grade of primary school and its application. The didactic case report was created on teaching which took place at primary school in Jesenice and was followed by application of the didactic case report at primary school in Kosova Hora. The goal of the application was to improve the quality of teaching. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on the role of the tourism geography in curricular documents valid in the Czech Republic such as Framework Educational program, School Education program and thematic plans. The secondary goal was focused on analysis of geography textbooks for 9. th grade of secondary school.

This diploma thesis focuses on the teaching of the Earth's natural components at 2nd degree of the primary school. The main goal of this thesis was to create didactic case studies focusing on the teaching of the Earth's system components in the 6th grade of 2nd degree of the primary school. The school is located in Český Krumlov. The secondary goal of this thesis was an analysis of textbooks for the 6th grade of primary school, which were approved by the ministry of Education. In the theoretical part we are focusing on the role of the topic in the Framework educational program for primary school education and the evolution of didactic of geography.

This thesis deals with possibilities of integrated education of Geography and Physical Education and aims at Gymnázium Prachatice, Zlatá stezka 137. It is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part occupies with basic designated pedagogically-didactic terminology and with the analysis of documents related to the theme and characteristic of Geography and Physical Education. Furthermore, this theoretical part is focused on integrated education, on the possibilities of using this form and on the current application of the integration of the pursued subject in the Czech Republic. The next part of the thesis deals with information about Gymnázium Prachatice, analysis of the didactic of Geography and Physical Education in SEP curriculum and with the implementation of the integration at the selected grammar school. Practical part includes personal suggestions of educational activities during which these two subjects interconnect. These ideas are included in the Framework Educational Program and in the School Educational Program of the grammar school.

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of cross-curricular relationships between civics and geography in elementary school education. The aim of this work is to provide an overview of these interdisciplinary relations between both educational fields. This was achieved through a content analysis of the thematic units of the curriculum presented in the Framework Education Programme for Elementary Education. Based on the obtained data, the author designed eight model teaching units that were put into practice. Individual teaching units were subsequently evaluated. The main contribution of this work is finding numerous compatibility between both fields, which can be used in everyday pedagogical practice.
Usage of interdisciplinary relations of geography and historiography in teaching of the local region (using Jáchymov as an example)

Bakalářská práce se věnuje mezipředmětovým vztahům mezi zeměpisem a dějepisem ve výuce místního regionu na 2. stupni základních škol a na gymnáziích. Cílem práce je analýza výuky místního regionu a využívání mezipředmětových vazeb vyučujícími na školách v zájmovém regionu Jáchymovska. Dílčím cílem je dále vytvořit materiál, který by mohl být využit v rámci výuky místního regionu pro učitele na Jáchymovsku. Výsledkem analýzy je, že většina učitelů na Jáchymovsku místní region učí, ale vyčleňují mu méně času, než je celorepublikový průměr. Někteří vyučující mezipředmětové vazby využívají, ale spolupráci kolegů učitelů by bylo rozhodně potřeba dále rozvíjet. Většina dotazovaných učitelů se v hodinách též zabývá dějinami regionu. Nově vzniklý pracovní list by měl být využitelný pro učitele na Jáchymovsku i v celém Česku. Change in the position and functions of school geographical atlases during distance learning

The thesis is focused on the changes caused by distance education (due to the Covid-19 pandemic). Specifically, how the pandemic influenced the position of school geographic atlases in relation to other tools in geography education and how was changed the use of the functions that this tool could provide. These changes were examined in three periods (pre-pandemic, pandemic and post- pandemic). The focus of the thesis also determines its individual objectives. First main objective of this thesis is to compare the position of printed school geography atlases in distance learning versus face-to-face learning in relation to other teaching tools used in geography education. Hence, the secondary objective, aimed at ranking the main teaching tools used in geography education in face-to-face learning and then capturing their possible transformation in the distance and post- distance learning. The functions and uses of these printed school geography atlases in the above periods are then examined. From this, the further objectives of the thesis are derived, namely to determine the functions that school geographic atlases might have performed and to characterize the possible transformation of the functions of the school geographic atlases and the ways of working with school geographic atlases in distance...
