The aim of this bachelor's thesis is the structural design of a rail gantry crane, a functional computational lifting device, strength control of the crane's supporting structure and partial drawing documentation. This bachelor’s thesis is aimed on construction design of jib crane for ships handling. Crane with capacity of load 1 000 kg is placed on concrete pier in shipyard, it has electrical hoist and swivel mechanism, lift height from water level is 6 000 mm. This is a design calculation of each part of the crane and control strength calculations. The aim of this project is the concept designed solutions and functional calculation of the whole device. An integral part of the thesis is drawing documentation.

Due to the rapid wear of the rope and the increasing cosi, it is necessary to modify this design.. In the first part of this thesis is elaborated research dealing with the issue of lifting equipment. After this section, followed by a proposal and the final design solutions. For the solution variant is prepared drawing documentation.

The aim of my thesis is a conceptual design radial gantry crane including the important strength calculations according to the standards and examinations by means of ANSYS Workbench. The lifting capacity is 1500 kg, the length of the boom is 12 000 mm and the height of lifting is 3600mm. The crane is designed as fully revolving and the angle turning is 360°. The work also includes the selection of a suitable lifting gear from the manufacturer´s catalogue including the accessories casters, all important components and also FEM construction analysis.

This bachelor thesis deals with the construction of the winding mechanism of the historical hand-operated crane JŽ 600, not only covering the construction itself, but also giving a general overview of the hand-operated cranes used today. The work further addresses the description of the individual components of the hand-operated crane, their function and the requirements placed on them. Many concepts contributed to the emergence of the final design, which was gradually modified to be functional, meet all safety requirements based on the standards and not be unnecessarily complicated. For the strength verification of components with complex shape the finite element method was used. The result of this work is a functional design of the winding mechanism used for the reconstruction of the incomplete crane JŽ600.
