This bachelor thesis is focused on the material loss - contacts erosion during switching process of the switchgears. First part is focused on the switchgears generally, their dividing and functions. Then there is closer look on the contacts of switchgears and what is necessary to be considered during their designing a operating. In this part there is also section devoted to the theory of the contacts erosion including the formulas for material loss calculation, which I found in existing literature. Practical part is focused on the contact system model and the measuring performed on this model. Measuring was also performed on the real switchgears for common use. There is also part devoted to this measuring. In the last part of thesis the analyze of the measured values is performed.
Decomposition and stability of organic matter in soil
Tabaková, Eva ; Enev, Vojtěch (referee) ; Klučáková, Martina (advisor)
In the soil, the plant material is decomposed by several factors. In the process, one part of the carbon returns to the atmosphere as carbon dioxide, whereas another part is stabilised in the soil. The aim of this study is decomposition and stability of organic matter in soil using a simple and innovative TBI method. Through this method, we examined the weight change after the incubation period of 90 days, where biomass of green tea was degraded in cambodia soil. Tea bags have provided us with valuable information on the decomposition and amount of carbon in the soil, because the biomass itself is of organic origin. This information is based on the fact that the soil and the decomposition processes have a direct impact on the change in climatic conditions. Thanks to further analytical methods, elemental analysis, thermogravimetric analysis and infrared spectroscopy with Furier transformation, was found indispensable information about tea composition.
Relationship of selected indicators of nutritional status and results of oesophageal cancer treatment with chemoradiotherapy and surgery
Zemanová, Milada ; Tvrzická, Eva (advisor) ; Vaňásek, Jaroslav (referee) ; Kazdová, Ludmila (referee)
The impact was assessed of clinical and nutritional factors on prognosis of 107 oesophageal cancer patients treated with neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (CHRT) and surgery. Individualised nutritional support, according to grade of dysphagia was carried out in all the patients. Serum leptin, soluble leptin receptors (SLR), TNF, IGF and fatty acid (FA) profiles in plasma phosphatidylcholine (PC) were studied as well. Addition of paclitaxel to carboplatin and continual fluorouracil significantly increased toxicity without influencing efficacy of the treatment. Post-operative node negativity, grade of dysphagia, weight loss and serum albumin were proved to be prognostic factors of survival and time to progression. CHRT led to decrease of SLR, palmitoleic and oleic acid and increase of n-3 polyunsaturated FA in PC. Lower concentrations of SLR were associated with improved survival of the patients. Key words: oesophageal cancer, neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy, weight loss, paclitaxel, albumin, soluble leptin receptor, fatty acids

Janoušková, Eva ; Matoulek, Martin (advisor) ; Svačina, Štěpán (referee)
Introduction: Bariatric procedures belong to modern methods of therapy of obesity, especially in patients with higher degree of obesity. Currently, different procedures are performed, among those gastric banding, sleeve gastrectomy and gastric bypass. Our research investigated the effect of various bariatric procedures on the weight loss and some other metabolic values in the treatment of obesity. Methods: The data collection for quantitative research was carried out at the 3rd medical department of 1st faculty of medicine of Charles University and General Faculty Hospital in Prague, partially retrospectively and mainly prospectively. We monitored the change of weight and compensation of type 2 diabetes mellitus in the first year after operation in group of 54 patients of which 32 patients had a two-year monitoring as well. For monitoring changes of weight throughout a particular period of time after operation, the conversion on % EWL a % EBMIL was used. The data was evaluated by basic statistical methods. Results 1: In our reference group (n=54) average value of EWL was found 37,58 % in the first year after the surgery. The value of EWL for sleeve gastrectomy was 47,52 %. The value of EWL for gastric bypass was 39,82 %. The value of EWL for gastric banding was 23,28 %. Results 2: In the subset of...
Bariatric Surgery and its Influence on the Development of Weight and Some Metabolic Parameters
Porovnali jsme také redukci hmotnosti u pacientů s diabetem mellitem 2. typu a bez tohoto onemocnění - pacienti s diabetem mellitem 2. typu redukovali hmotnost méně (změna hmotnosti 20,297 kg, EWL 34,962 %) než pacienti bez diabetu mellitu 2. typu (změna hmotnosti 32,633 kg, EWL 52,873 %). U pacientů s diabetem mellitem 2. typu došlo rok po provedení výkonu ke změně hodnot glykovaného hemoglobinu - v rámci celého souboru (6,586...
Adipokines (leptin and adiponectin) as predictors of weight loss and weight regain during one year period following the 10-week low caloric diet (NUGENOB study)
Drahoš, Jan ; Polák, Jan (advisor)
In the Czech republic, about 20% of women and 16% of men are obese. The key role in the etiology of obesity plays the imbalance between energy intake and expenditure, which is influenced by many factors, including leptin and adiponectin. Leptin is secreted mainly from adipocytes and it's levels increase with cell fat content and body fat percentage. Leptin itself is supposed to lead to weight loss, both by decreasing appetite and increasing energy expenditure. But high levels of leptin can be a signal of so called leptin resistance, a state in which leptin is losing it's effects. Adiponectin is secreted exclusively from adipose tissue. In obese people, lower levels of adiponectin were proven (i.e. adiponectin levels are in a negative correlation with body fat percentage). That's consistent with the fact that adiponectin is affecting a range of metabolic prosesses and thus improves insulin sensitivity and metabolic profile. For evaluation, we used a database of almost 750 subjects, that was build under the Nugenob study, conducted in 8 cities in 7 european countries. Al the participants were measured their anthropometric and biochemical parameters at the baseline and after 10 weeks of a standardized weight reduction program. The czech center retested the patient once again 1 year after the initial...

Effect of intensive physiotherapy on overweight and obezity in people from 40 to 50 years
ILLOVÁ, Lenka
The topic of my bachelor thesis is Effect of intensive physiotherapy on overweight and obesity in people from 40 to 50 years. Obesity is severe illness quickly becoming a heavy problem in the society. In spite of this, a little emphasis is put on monitoring and solving the increasing number of overweight and obese people. In my opinion it is a hot issue considering the incidence of obesity is increasing, and occurring in countries which have not been affected so far. The theoretical part deals with the aim to find out, whether the addition of physical activity to the daily routine influences losing weight. The next point includes the research of the influence both physical activities connected with the change of eating habits on losing weight. The last aim was to compile and realize the remedial program helping overweight and obese people to lose weight. There was a qualitative research based on casuistry of four people used in the practical part of the thesis. The kinesiology analysis from the opening and resultant examination provided information. A part of this analysis is an anamnesis including structural dialogue, visual and physical examination, anthropometry and specific physiotherapeutic examination, such as callipers-Ace and detection of the deep stabilization spine system. The therapy took place for three months. Probands participated in the conditional training, aerobic kinetic activity and the deep stabilization spine system mobilization. It figured out from the research that the most suitable way how to reduce body weight is the combination of more physical activity and the change of eating habits. The best results were achieved within probands who changed their eating habits at the time the therapy started. Only the application of kinetic activity while treating obesity and overweight cannot cause marked losing weight. One of the probands even gained weight as well as made smaller his waist girth. The research confirmed the necessity of individual approach to each of the probands. Every person responds and adapts differently although the problem is alike. The obesity and excess weight treatment is a long term matter, however, three months confirmed the effectiveness of the therapy. This thesis can serve in clinical physiotherapeutic practice for overweigh and obesity treatment. Next it can be used like study materials for students and graduates of the physiotherapy branch or for laic public.
