Gordon Model in Practice - an action research

The topic of the thesis is the impact of classroom communication on teaching effectiveness. The theoretical work focuses on the ideas of Thomas Gordon, as described in his book Teacher Effectiveness Training where he discusses the impact of teacher-pupil communication on the educational process and offers communication methods to increase teaching effectiveness. In the theoretical part, I focus on various approaches to communication with pupils and their influence on the motivation to learn. The education objectives as stipulated in the Czech Education Act are the starting point for the theoretical work. The question of how these goals are met leads to Gordon's effective communication methods. These are based on an accepting attitude towards students and supported by the theory of humanistic psychology represented by Carl Rogers. I compare these methods with other pedagogical literature on education. In the practical part, I analyse selected teaching situations as described in my teacher's diary where I recorded real-life situations in which I tried to apply Gordon's effective communication methods and a respectful attitude towards pupils. The Harry Potter project at the primary school in the context of class relations

This thesis deals with the definition of the project and thematic teaching as a tool for improvement of class environment and relationships between students. The thesis defines the concept of class environment and identifies some causes of changes in class environment, together with methods of its measurement. It identifies some desirable relationships between students that are influenced by the class environment and on the other hand those relationships that influence the environment. The motivation is briefly described, it is divided in two groups: inner and outer motivation and it is observed in terms of behaviour and learning. The thesis also mentions several ways of working with the collective in terms of key competences set out in The Framework Educational Programme for Basic Education from June 2017. Specifically, it describes the project, thematic teaching, classroom appearance and drama education as one of the possible methods and techniques for working with a collective. The theoretical part is concluded with a detailed description and reflection of the Harry Potter project which took place in both of the studied classes. Solutions of disciplinal problems by early teachers in co operation with colleagues, specialists, advisory rooms.

This dissertation deals with how to solve different kinds of disciplinal problems in a class, about an atmosphere in the class, relations between a teacher and pupils, a teacher and parents and also about the relations between pupils themselves. In this work is written how disciplinal problems should be solved, as well as how some problems are solved in real situations. The thesis is concerned especially about beginnings of the profession, which is connected with early years teachers and their possibilities how to deal with school conflicts, moreover their options for cooperation with their colleagues in a school or outside of it. This is also focused on general knowledge of beginning teachers about the possibility of cooperation with specialised centres for schools. The thesis shows the mentioned topic through situations from the Czech Republic as well as from Spain, Portugal and China.
Forum theatre: possible applications with children and youth

This diploma thesis deals with the possible applications of the dramatic method called Forum theatre in the work with children and teenagers. The theoretical part is divided in to three chapters and where the first chapter introduces Forum theatre. The second chapter describes the formation of the Theatre of the Oppressed concept, whose main technique is the examined method. The third part provides a detailed description of the method including the aims, rules a principles for the role of a Joker. The second part of the thesis examines the relationship of the method towards the educational system of the Czech Republic. Concretely it deals with the key competences, personal and social education a dramatic education. The aim of this thesis is to map the current state of the usage of the method, to determine who, whit what goals and with what susses uses the method. Than the original concept, developed by Augusto Boal for work with adults is confronted with the currently used variations of this method. Based on this analysis some principles, which might be used in the future practice are set.
