The biographical study of Jiří Mucha and his journlistic work in pre-war, war and post-war years

This bachelor thesis is devoted to the life and work of writer and journalist Jiří Mucha in selected years from 1937 to 1948 . This period is further divided into three phases, the pre- war (1937-1939), war (1939-1945) and postwar (1947-1948) period. For each era are allocated three most important periodicals which formed the strongest pillar of Mucha's work. These are the Lidové noviny, magazine The Czechoslovak and Svobodné noviny. The thesis is also focused on Mucha's other publications from 1929 to his death in 1991. Each chapter contains information on the socio-historical situation, the status of the media at the time and also discusses specifics of Mucha's contributions to the above mentioned publications. The aim of this thesis is to map Mucha's benefit especially in the field of journalism and also to bring his personality closer. What is more, another aim is to compare the various creative periods by method of comparative analysis or what impact his writing had on the socio-historical events. The thesis would also like to detect the difference between individual articles.

The intention of my thesis is to analyze "the image of Jana Nagyova on media scandal "Abuse of Military Intelligence"in the period of June 1st 2013 to December 31th 2013 and from May 11th 2015 to July 31st 2015. It is dependent on every single phase of that case and incorporating the large social effects as well. I focused on the semantic forms of the headlines printed by daily Blesk, Mlada fronta Dnes and Pravo. In this research, I decided to use a quantitative analysis based on the answering of the basic hypothesis. This hypothesis is called: it is possible to blamed Jana N. based just by these kinds of headlines, before getting the verdict in this cause? To be more specific: it is possible that all these headlines were prepared to affect the reader's perception of Jana N. including her judgment in the moral, the social or in criminal law ? I also tried to analyze if it could be possible to find the basic differences between the newspapers as it is so- called and the investigative journalism in general. My thesis is divided into two main parts. The first one is based on the theory and it contains a description of that cause and a short theoretical excursion. The subject of this diploma thesis is the Intelligence Services of the Czech Republic and their Role in the Fight against Terrorism. Intelligence services in the fight against terrorism play a key role in the nature of their activities. Determining relevant intelligence powers is very important for the effective performance of intelligence services in the fight against terrorism. The issue of the powers of Czech intelligence services in the fight against terrorism appears as a leading topic of security and current political discussions. The main part of the thesis is focused on the powers of Czech intelligence services in the fight against terrorism from terrorist attacks September 11, 2001, and the development of the intelligence services of the Czech Republic from 2001 to 2018 is mapped through a qualitative thematic analysis of mainly legislative documents.
The Policy Paradox of the Intelligence Community Setup and its Democratic Oversight: The Case of the Czech Republic between 1993 and 2013

Intelligence services are vital security systém elements of each democratic state. Access to the important intels without any lags is basic for state to survive. No state, nor the democratic nor the totalitarian can survive withou intelligence. On the other hand, strong based and rooted oversight is nature in democratic states. Basic purpose of this work is in examination of the situation in the Czech republic, where intelligence systém reform should be prepared as soon as possible. Especially in the light of missuse of the military intelligence by prime minister's mistress in 2013. In advance, the limits of current oversight methods and systém should be find. Deborah Stone's, proffesor of Dartmouth university, in the Czech republic rare theory called Policy Paradox is used as main for this work. It was choosen because it brings new view on the current intelligence system setup and its oversight. This analytical model see creation of public policy as continuous clash of personal and public interests. In advanced it is in opposition to the traditional view of policy from the market perspective and it provide new view as ancient polis where you have to beer the public interest on your mind.
