Comparison of the results of aerobic exercise testing while kayaking and crank ergometry of upper limbs
Busta, Jan ; Bílý, Milan (advisor) ; Novotný, Petr (referee)
Title: Comparison of the results of aerobic exercise testing while kayak paddling whith crank ergometry of upper limbs. Aims: The aim of the study was to determine the relationship between the results of aerobic execise diagnostics of 6 elite kayakers (white water slalom) when paddling of flat water with crank ergometry of upper limbs. The results obtained when paddling on flat water were also compared with results obtained when paddling in the pool with counter (bachelor thesis). Based on the results we wanted to answer the question about the possible use specific forms of stress diagnosis (spiroergometry) in routine practice of training proces. Methods: We used standardized laboratory spiroergomtry stress test at crank ergometry of upper limbs and spiroergometry stress test when paddling on flat water of the same protocol. To obtain the functional values of physiological indicators in both test we used mobile spiroergometry equipment Cortex Metamax 3B and sporttester Polar. Feedback of probands were identified based on suervey with closed questions. Results: Testing kayakers reached when paddling on flat water the average functional values: heart rate (HR) 188,5 (±8,77) beats per minute, maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max.) 56 ml.kg.min-1 (±6.31); maximum ventilation (VMAX.) 127.31 l.min-1 (±15.16);...
Determining dependencies between the explosive power of the upper extremities and performance in sprint on kayak of white water paddlers.
Fusek, Radomír ; Bílý, Milan (advisor) ; Novotný, Petr (referee)
Title: Determining dependencies between the explosive power of the upper extremities and performance in sprint on kayak of white water paddlers. Aims: Determine the relationship between the explosive power of upper limbs and trunk, as demonstrated by selected exercises in the gym with a performance at the sprint distance of 40 meters in calm water. Methods: Explosive power of upper limbs and trunk were tested through devices Myotest® Pro 2 in exercises bench - press, bench - pull and pull - ups. Sprint on 40 meters was measured manually by three timekeepers, the final time was the average time. Relationship between performance in the sprint and explosive strength was assessed through Pearson correlation coefficient. Results: There was found moderate degree of dependence in some indicators of explosive power detected by Myotest® Pro 2. Specifically, the maximum force in the exercise bench - press (-0.42) and the pull-up (-0.42) and the maximum repetition speed at an exercise bench - press (-0.51). For other indicators, there was no evidence or only a very low level of correlation dependencies. The results, however, evident that the sprint fastest probands achieved in the majority of the measured values explosive force well above average results. Since it was a pilot research, we can not draw firm...
Influence of selected conditional factors on performance in white water slalom
Vondra, Jan ; Bílý, Milan (advisor) ; Kratochvíl, Jiří (referee)
Title: Influence of selected conditional factors on performance in white water slalom. Aims: The aim of the study was to investigate the relationship of selected specific movement abilities being examined modified test battery with the performance of athletes in the water slalom. Methods: It was used field measurements where the applied modified test battery. Using GPS module to determine the distance partial tests from batery. For measuring was used manual measurement. To determine the statistical correlation between the modified battery and performance ability of competitors was used two different coefficients of correlation and regression analysis. According to the order of the test and the race was used nonparametric correlation study - Spearman correlation coefficient. Determining the statistical significance of the relationship of measured times in tests and final time in the nomination races have used the Pearson correlation coefficient. Results: For a statistically significant relationship was determined value when r ≥ 0.8. Spearman's correlation coefficient: In the test at 40 m were obtained these correlation coefficients: Nomination races rs = 0,380952, Czech cup rs = 0,595238. In the test at 80 meters they were obtained these correlation coefficients: nomination races rs = 0,857143,...
The influence of imagination on the performance of white water slalom racers
Vondra, Jan ; Bílý, Milan (advisor) ; Kračmar, Bronislav (referee)
Title: The influence of imagination on the performance of white water slalom racers Tasks: The main task of this work is to find out if imagination can influence the performance of racers. Techniques: We used the technique of observing the coexistent relation by correlation analysis. At first we measured the time that is necessary to visualize and complete the course in one's mind and then compared it to the actual race time. Results: In the surveyed group of men (N = 11) only a slight association between performance and imagination was observed. In the group of women (N = 4) there was a more significant relation between performance and imagination. Key words: White water slalom, imagination, visualization, performance in sport.
A description of significant differences in technical preparation of water slalom and canoe sprint in K1 category
Mokrý, Michal ; Bílý, Milan (advisor) ; Süss, Vladimír (referee)
Thesis title: A description of significant differences in technical preparation of water slalom and canoe sprint in K1 category. Thesis objective: The objective of the thesis is to determine the main features typical of technical preparation of kayakers in Czech canoeing clubs and to describe possible differences in the preparation of sprint kayakers and water slalom kayakers. Methods of data processing: The work is based on mixed research. The racers and coaches were presented with a questionnaire concerning technical preparation. Collected output was analyzed using the methods of quantitative research and of analytical induction. Results: Several significant differences were detected between the technical preparation of sprint kayakers and water slalom racers. To develop basic kayaking strokes, water slalom racers in mostly younger age categories use other water sports, especially wild water, more frequently. In preparatory exercises sprint racers limit themselves to stroke sequencing. Water slalom racers use a wider range of preparatory exercises to develop basic kayaking stroke. In order to gain feedback, water slalom racers use videorecording analysis several times a month and that not only during technical preparation period. In sprint canoeing the videorecording analysis is used...

Bílý, Milan ; Süss, Vladimír (advisor) ; Pollert, Jaroslav (referee) ; Tomajko, Dušan (referee)
Title: Performance aspects in white water slalom Aim The study is a summary of articles published between the years 2006 - 2011. The aim is to present the researched issue of top - level sport in the example of white water slalom. Articles are arranged in accordance to the factors of sport performance. The first thematically include articles concerned with conditioning factors of performance, then continue articles analyzing somatic factors and at the end there are listed papers on psychological preparation and psychological factors. Methods These articles were mostly case studies which have been conducted on a sample of national team athletes or top athletes in the Czech Republic. The exception is the articles 5.3 and 5.4, which are descriptive studies on a large sample of top world class athletes. The studies used a survey and testing. Results The individual articles addressed the importance of performance indicators in white water slalom, applied to the selected factors. Results of studies are always subjected to deliberately selected files of athletes, top-level competitors in the Czech Republic and abroad. The results, therefore, cannot be generalized and applied to a population of white water slalom racers, but can show some patterns that could be accepted in practice.

Title: Nutrition monitoring in top Czech Republic women white water slalom athletes in the race period of the season. Aim of the study: Comparison of actual quantitative and qualitative composition of the diet in the Czech water slalom paddlers (women) in the racing period to daily recommended standards for the population group of athletes with a corresponding energy output. Using the results, create both general and individual recommendations and assess the need for the use of supplements in the diet of water slalom athletes. Methods: The thesis is a case study and it is a kind of qualitative research. For our study we chose two main methods. Prospective study method and the method of interview. To determine the total daily energy intake and diet quality inventorial analysis of the four- day dietary record of the respondents was used. For comparison with the standards, the data were subsequently processed by standardized software applications of database functions MS Excel (Vilikus a kol., 2002) and accompanied by a critical commentary. To survey the data concerning use of food supplements has been used a method in which athletes respond to questions asked. The data were assessed in writing and graphically. Results: Our study shows and critically comment on the differences between recommended and...
