Průcha, Václav ; Angelovská, Olga (advisor) ; Munková, Gabriela (referee)
Diploma thesis "Protective options against domestic violence" deals with one of the serious problems of the current populations, which is domestic violence. The work is focused on one slice of the problem, namely to address the protection of victims of domestic violence. The options of protection of the victims of domestic violence were compared with each other and then with the means of protection in neighboring states. The comparison showed that the most effective mean of protection against domestic violence in the Czech Republic is expulsion and that in the Czech Republic, the institute used much less frequently than in neighboring states. The paper also verified the hypothesis that there are links between the numbers of cases of domestic violence, unemployment figures and the number of violent crimes. Comparison showed that these phenomena are closely related. Finally, the proposal was stated to be better protection of victims of domestic violence, namely strengthening the authority of victims of domestic violence in divorce cases.

Spoustová, Ivana ; Elischer, David (referee)
The dissertation thesis "Relationship of parents to minors with regard to the specifics of domestic violence" focuses in particular on judicial proceedings in cases of custody of minors where family relationships are affected by domestic violence. It attempts to explain why it is necessary for the courts to take into account this fact and to adopt such measures within their decisions to provide sufficient protection to persons at risk and at the same time to stop violent behaviour. Domestic violence as a dangerous social phenomenon is described in detail; information on its individual appearances and forms is brought; briefly mentioned are also other scientific disciplines whose knowledge is important not only for the recourse of offenders and the protection of victims but also for creation of a strategy of effective prevention. Negative impacts on mental state of minors are stressed, who must be viewed in all cases of domestic violence as its victims, i.e. also when the violent behaviour is not immediately directed against them. The thesis brings interpretation of the current legislation with reference to the most important changes in the legislation in the last decade. HAVRÁNKOVÁ, Iveta
The aim of this bachelor thesis was to find out, based on the study of professional literature and case studies, what negative effects might have domestic violence in the family on children. First are presented the definitions and functions of the family. Subsequently, domestic violence is characterized, with emphasis on children as witnesses as well as direct victims of violent behavior. In this context, the CAN syndrome is described. Particular attention is paid to the effects of violence on children, such as psychological deprivation, post-traumatic stress disorder, a situation where a child takes on an adult role and transgenerational transmission of violence. The theoretical part is followed by qualitative research. I used the method of analysis of documents in the form of case reports from the files of The Department of Social and Legal Protection of Children, where minors were exposed to domestic violence in their families.

Public Opinion on Domestic Violence
VORNAYOVÁ, Irena
This bachelor thesis describes the issue of domestic violence. Domestic violence is considered as one of the biggest and most hidden forms of violence in our society. Perhaps it can be found all around us and it is not related to women only but also men and also cases of domestic violence against children and seniors are increasing. The aim of the study was to determine the views and attitudes of the public about domestic violence, because the opinion about this increasingly important issue and the informed society has an impact on early detection and follow-up of the cases of domestic violence. The theoretical part of this bachelor thesis summarizes the basic information as what the domestic violence is, what are its signs, forms, dynamics, prejudices and myths. Vulnerable people, violent people and causes and prevention of domestic violence are briefly outlined here. At the end of the theoretical part assistance for victims of domestic violence is listed by the helping institutions and organizations and a review of current legislation of the Czech Republic, which is related to the topic. In the research part of the bachelor thesis there are two hypotheses set on the target. Hypothesis no. 1 "The public perceive domestic violence as a private matter in which you can not interfere," and hypothesis no. 2 "The public is not informed about the ways how to help victims of domestic violence". The survey for the purpose of this thesis was made out of using a quantitative research and was made in January 2014. For the data collection public survey was used in the selected location, which is Vltavotýnsko. The survey was conducted by questionnairy. The sample was 400 respondents who were approached randomly. The only criterion for completing the questionnaire was adulthood reaching. 337 of 400 distributed questionnaires were returned, which is more than 80 percent return. The questionnaire in the thesis was compiled on the basis of the scientific literature and it contains the basic information that the public should know about domestic violence. Questionnaire was divided into two parts. The first part examined the respondents' awareness about domestic violence and the second part the awareness of the respondents about the help to the victims of domestic violence. Answers to questions were summarized in tables and graphs with a spreadsheet program Microsoft Excel first. Subsequently, due to the fact that the vast majority of data acquired through questionnaires were categorical, adequate statistical evaluation methods were chosen. Statistical analysis of the results of the survey was conducted in SPSS. The research showed that the public in Vltavotýnsko is relatively well informed about what is domestic violence, and only a small percentage of respondents perceive domestic violence as a private matter. Thus, the hypothesis no. 1 "The public perceive domestic violence as a private matter in which you can not interfere," has not been confirmed. Conversely, the public is not sufficiently informed about the ways how to help victims of domestic violence, who to turn to for help when they become victims of domestic violence by themselves or when they are asked for help, and it means that the hypothesis of no. 2 "The public is not informed about the ways how to help victims of domestic violence" has been confirmed. Furthermore, the survey results showed that the education of the respondents, their age, the place where they live and whether they are men or women has some impact on awareness, attitudes and opinions of the respondents. This thesis can be used as an informational or educational material for the general public and thus to contribute to its greater awareness about domestic violence and the resulting research data can be served to raise the awareness of the institutions that provide assistance to victims of domestic violence.
Domestic Violence from the Perspective of the Aggressor
KAŠPAROVÁ, Marie
Domestic violence is a complex and widely spread phenomenon. Although this phenomenon is discussed, an unanimous and generally accepted definition of domestic violence has not been established so far. Domestic violence is violence among close relatives in families and households. There are various forms physical, psychological, sexual, economic, and others the combination of different forms is the most frequent. Typical features of domestic violence are: growing intensity, long termism, repeating, dividing roles and nonpublicity. It is gradually becoming a part of every day life and the cycle of domestic abuse is getting shorter. Participants in domestic violence are endangered people, violent people and children, or other members of household. Not only men are perpetrators of domestic abuse, but also women. In the Czech Republic there exist helping schemes especially for victims, but it is necessary to have a complex approach, because the whole family is concerned. Therefore therapeutic services for violent people, who do not manage their emotions and aggression in domestic context, are starting to appear. Thanks to these schemes, a change in their behaviour is possible; either the family may stay together, or it is help on letting go which is beneficial to all involved. The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to introduce the life tracks of individuals, who have become aggressors in domestic context, with an emphasis on subjectively perceived moments which caused this socially pathological behaviour. The research question was whether domestic violence appeared also in the primary family of perpetrator. Qualitative research strategy was used, data were gathered by half-structured or free interviews. The representative group consisted of domestic abuse perpetrators, who were chosen for this purpose. In the research five communication partners took part. Data were collected in crisis ambulatory service SOS Centre Diakonie CCE-SKP in Prague. The research results have shown that domestic aggressors´ primary families were in most cases not harmonious, and these people are unbalanced in a way. If domestic violence perpetrators are able to confess themselves they do not know how to deal with their emotions, and they voluntarily choose professional help and therapy, the chance to eliminate the primary reason of violence is bigger. This bachelor thesis could be beneficial for social workers involved in this issue. Outputs could be used as a study material for intervention centers and could be an impulse for more attention to domestic abuse perpetrators it would naturally help to other participants, mainly to victims.
