Use of developmental kinesiology elements in the prevention of spinal injuries
KAMÍROVÁ, Barbora
My bachelor thesis deals with the application of elements of developmental kinesiology in the prevention of vertebral disorders. The theoretical part of my bachelor thesis contains a description of the back anatomy and the most common vertebral disorders which can be prevented by therapy. The next chapters focus on the core system and developmental kinesiology, where the single phases of delevopment are described in detail. These phases result in exercises that are then used in a set of exercises. The last chapter of the theoretical part describes methods on neurophysiologycal basis often used in the therapy of vertebral disorders. They include DNS concept, Vojta therapy, Roswitha Brunkow therapy and ACT method. The practical part includes a set of exercises created on the basis of position in developmental kinesiology and uses knowledge from the theoretical part. To evaluate the effectivity of this set of exercises the thesis contains 4 case studies. A research file was created with three woman and one man aged from 20 to 27 years, all of them active sports people. For four months they practised the set of exercices twice a week at home and once a month they visited the individual therapy to control the quality of exercising. The following methods were used for collecting data during my research: kinesiology analysis focused on anamnesis, check-up by sight and functional tests for which I used dynamical tests for spine and core tests from Kolář. Testing at the beginning and at the end of the therapy was identical. To evaluate the effect of the set of exercises I used a semi-structural interview where I focused on the subjective feeling from the therapy and to get an answer to the research question, which was to find out which exercise is the most effective in the participants´ opinion. The results of the therapy show an obvious positive effect of the set of exercises, based on positions from developmental kinesiology, on the function of the movement system. The participants feel a subjective improvement of posture and in all cases there were obvious positive changes, especially in testing of core system. Evaluated as the most effective exercise was number 1 - position of a three-month-old baby lying on its back and modifications of this exercise with use of dynamical movement of limbs.
Physical activity as means of prevention and rehabilitation of vertebrogenic disorders
Rošická, Petra ; Bunc, Václav (advisor) ; Hošková, Blanka (referee)
This thesis deals with vertebrogenic children's and adults' disorders. The theoretical part focuses on a statistical review of vertebrogenic disorders, their causation and possible forms of prevention. The practical part consists of two case interpretations of patients with vertebrogenic disorders. To each of them an intervention physical activity plan based on their health history and physical activity history has been prepared. The result of this thesis confirms that a well-chosen physical activity can be used as prevention and is also a basis for most rehabilitation programs for patients with vertebrogenic disorders.
Fear of pain/movement (algophobia, kinesiophobia) in patients' functional difficulties
Škvorová, Adéla ; Raudenská, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Tomová, Šárka (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the fear of pain/movement in patients with difficulties in the locomotor system. It is divided into two parts, namely the theoretical section and the empirical section. The theoretical section deals with vertebrogenic difficulties, pain, emotions and fear. It explains their origin, causes, methods of medical examination and treatment. At the end, it focuses on the issue of nursing care. The empirical section of the thesis focuses on the relationship of fear/pain and other clinical and demographic factors. It also examines possible predictors of the development of this fear. The conclusion of the empirical section describes the surveyed sample of respondents and determines the results of the research survey. The research was based on a quantitative questionnaire survey. Three questionnaires were used to collect the data - a non-standardized questionnaire, the Fear of Pain Questionnaire (FPQ-III-CZ) and a Czech version of the Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia (TSK-CZ). A numerical visual range was used to determine pain intensity and discomfort. The statistical data analysis methods were based on research hypotheses on the relationship between selected monitored variables. The relationship analyzes were based on Spearman's correlation coefficient, a point biserial...
Effect of deep stabilization system on the musculoskeletal system
Burianová, Zuzana ; Hošková, Blanka (advisor) ; Strnad, Pavel (referee)
6 Abstract Title: Effect of deep stabilization system on the musculoskeletal system Objectives: The aim of the study is to demonstrate the influence of therapeutic interventions on the deep stabilization system using investigative techniques and principles used used in practice in physiotherapy. Methods: This thesis has been characterized as a case study. It is based on an experimental basis in the form of qualitative research. For the research five clients were chosen with problems in the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. Applying exercise procedures was to show a positive effect on the deep stabilizing system. Following investigative methods were used: anamnesis, examination of static orientation, trigonometric spine examination, assessment of posture, postural stability testing, palpation, flexion of the neck stereotype by Lewit and "S" reflex. Testing was performed twice, at intervals of 3-4 months. Results: The results showed significant improvement in four out of five clients. Pain, stiffness or paraesthesia cervical, thoracic or lumbar spine alleviated or even disappeared. Postural muscle activation possession and corset improved. Exercises also positively influenced the stereotype of breathing and it was confirmed that an active cooperation of clients is necessary for the most efficient effect of...
The influence of music therapy on stability and reactibility of vertebrogenic patients as viewed by a physiotherapist Objectivisation by the posturography
Zajíčková, Jana ; Gerlichová, Markéta (advisor) ; Gueye, Tereza (referee)
The therapy of vertebral issues is nowadays (at the present time) an inherent part of the physiotherapist's work. The main aim of this study is to find out, if we are able to change stability and reactibility of patients with vertebral issues by using selected elements of musical therapy. As an ulterior aim I chose to evaluate respondent's subjective feelings about changes in their vertebral issues and to compare advantages and disadvantages of integrating musical therapy into therapeutical unit. In the theoretical part I am writing about musical therapy as a branch of science which is trying to find its place in our health care. I am also writing about postural motor skills, posturography as an objectiv evaluating method and about vertebral issues with its etiology. An important chapter in this theoretical part is about psychosomatics, which often causes back pain. For practical part of the theses I prepared 10 musical therapy sessions. Main aim of these sessions was to influent musculosceletal system, reactibility and stability of respondents. To evaluate objectively the results the posturography was used. Materials used to fulfill ulterior aims were taken by a questionnaire.
Verification of Special Exercises in the Physiotherapy Facilities in Jihlava
POLÁK, Ondřej
Back pain is one of the most common health problems in the world. The main focus of this thesis is specific exercises and treatment techniques to treat back pain. The first part describes the musculoskeletal system, muscle function, treatment techniques and exercises to treat back pain with the help of physiotherapy. Three physiotherapy and rehabilitation facilities in Jihlava, together with their clients with back pain, were chosen for this research. The main focus was the joint range mobility measurements, treating muscle dysbalances and providing clients specific exercises to stretch, to relax and improve their physical mobility in specific areas. The mobility measurements were done in two phases: during entrance and exit visits and the task was to identify how the specific exercises and treatment techniques relieve muscle dysbalances and back pain.
