Royal jelly is aplicated into lotions, face masks, lipsticks, night creams, hair waters, hydration preparations etc. Honey is used for preparation of shower gels, soaps, body milks, hydration creams. Propolis is added into creams, body milks, body lotions, shampoos, lipsticks, soaps and mouth sprays. Pollen has significant content of vitamins, aminoacids and other substances in nature form for cosmetics. These substances are important for nutrition, regeneration and hydration of skin. Apisin is used in pharmacologic preparations, like healing creams and smears.
Porovnání medů mezi sebou na základě různých parametrů
Bajerová, Kateřina
In the theoretical part, this diploma thesis briefly describes the origin and processing of honey. Then, some of its physical and chemical properties are characterized, focusing on the methods of their determination. The work also focuses on the effects of honey on human health and its possible applications in the treatment of various diseases, and finally with a brief presentation of other bee products. In the practical part, an analysis of selected physical and chemical properties (water content, titratable acidity, active acidity, colour, glucose content, proline content) of honey samples obtained from the market was performed. The results of the determination were compared with the values set by the legislation. A sensory evaluation was also carried out for the overall assessment. Finally, a statistical comparison of individual results was also performed.
The Importance of Bees and their Use in Apitherapy
Handlová, Kateřina ; Hanel, Lubomír (advisor) ; Říhová, Dagmar (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the importance of bees and the use of bee products in apitherapy. In the introduction of the general part, the honey bee (Apis mellifera) is introduced, including its morphology, biology and diseases. The composition of the bee colony and the husbandry tools needed to keep bees are also mentioned. The concept of apitherapy, views on its use and methods of application are also explained. Bee products (honey, royal jelly, propolis, beeswax, bee pollen and bee venom) are introduced. The positives and negatives of apitherapy are discussed and whether apitherapy can be considered an official treatment method. In the practical part, a questionnaire was used to determine people's awareness of apitherapy, the use of apitherapy products and then to find out the differences in responses between respondents living in urban and rural areas. The method of quantitative analysis was used to evaluate the results. When comparing the responses of urban and rural respondents, considerable agreement and similarity was found. Antibakteriální účinky propolisu
Švoncová, Adéla
Currently, there is fast growing scientific interest about propolis issue. It's antibacterial, antivirus, antimycotic, immunostimulatory and other effects, beneficial for human organism, have been proven. I have focused mostly on antibacterial effect of propolis, which i proved using disc diffusion method and growth curves method, using propolis sample from hive and making extracts with use of two dissolvents with different concentration. First set of samples, containing two different concentrations, was extracted using ethanol and ethyl acetate in laboratory mixer. Second set of samples was made from evaporate, using vacuum evaporator, and then diluted to used concentration. Despite scientific studies, describing propolis as natural antibiotic, none of used extracts showed antimicrobial activity against tested cultures. According to the results the highest amount of phenolic compounds was in 96% ethanol propolis extract. Despite a large number of studies focused on antibacterial activity of bee products, it has not been proven.

Porovnání výsledků testování v ČR a zahraničí v posledních letech. Určení trendu výskytu cizorodých látek v medu. Zjištění obecného povědomí o této problematice u lidí v produktivním věku
A comparison of the level and development of beekeeping between two neighbouring areas -the Ústecký Region and the Sachsen Freistaat
Šťastná, Anna-Marie ; Prášilová, Marie (advisor) ; Anna, Anna (referee)
The diploma work provides an analysis and comparison of the development in apiculture (bee-keeping) and of its present state in the Czech Republic and Germany. Attention with regard to apiculture is mostly paid to the two neighbouring regions: Ústí nad Labem Region and The Free State of Saxony. The practical part first discusses the major guidelines in the development and status of apiculture both in the Czech Republic and Germany on the one hand, and in the Ústí nad Labem Region and Saxony on the other. Particular attention is given to the indices of quantification of beekeepers and bee colonies, the overall annual honey production and the average annual honey production per one bee colony. Attention is also given to the indices of the average honey consumption in both countries, to foreign trade in which honey is the commodity and to the rate of fund raising in support of bee keeping. The statistical data were provided by Czech beekeepers union, Regional Authority of the Usti Region, German Beekeepers Association, Federal Ministry of Food and Agricuture and the Saxon State Ministry for Enviroment and Agriculture. The diploma work, according to the obtained statistic data, offers a prediction of the future development in apiculture, again with regards to the two regions discussed. The final part and the conclusions contain suggestions and recommendations concerning the development of apiculture in the Czech Republic and in the Federal Republic of Germany.
Statistical analysis of the development of beekeeping in the Czech Republic and its prospects
Elizeus, Natálie ; Prášilová, Marie (advisor) ; Ivana, Ivana (referee)
The diploma thesis is focused on beekeeping in the Czech Republic and provides an overview of the development and level of this important agricultural field. The thesis is analyzing the development of selected indicators that had an influence on level of beekeeping in our country in the years 1993-2015. The indicators that the thesis is focused on are numbers of beekeepers and bee colonies, production and consumption of honey, honey export and import and drawing grants. The Czech Republic is aware of the need to support beekeepers through grants for the reason that bees are able to pollinate plants, which is welcome for the agriculture. Bees pollinate about 85 % plants and provide honey and other products such as pollen, royal jelly, propolis, wax and bee venom, which are primarily used in cosmetics, pharmacology and food (processing) industry. The results of analysis of individual indicators serve as a basis for the creation of trends. For selected indicators there are also set out forecasts for future development for two years ahead. The thesis also includes processing and interpretation of the survey that has been carried out among beekeepers. At the end of the thesis there are formulated possible perspectives of beekeeping field and there are also expressed suggestions and recommendations for further development of this sector.
Registration of Business Activity of Beekeeper in Terms a Quantification the Income Tax Base
Bartošová, Barbora ; Kuchařová, Ivana (advisor) ; Lenka, Lenka (referee)
The objective of this Bachelor´s Thesis is to cover business beekeeping activities in order to define possibilities to determine an income tax basis of natural persons. The Thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical one. The theoretical part summarizes elementary findings on the ways to establish an income tax basis for natural persons. The issue is lump sum expenses, tax record keeping of income and expenses and bookkeeping. There is a description of division of entrepreneurs with an obligation to keep the books and without it. Furthermore, the following basic information is defined here: on apiarian products, on income tax of natural persons, on grants offered in the sphere of apiculture, and, last but not least, initial costs of a beekeeper owning two bee colonies. In the practical part of this Thesis, the three previously presented ways to determine an income tax basis of natural persons are demonstrated on model cases - lump sum expenses, tax records of income and expenses, and bookkeeping.
