Dizertace a výzkumná data
Schöpfel, Joachim ; Prost, Hélène
What do we know about data behaviours and needs of PhD students, especially in social sciences and humanities? How can academic libraries improve the research data management (RDM) of PhD students? How can they contribute to curation, preservation and sharing of research data related to electronic theses and dissertations (ETDs)? Which are realistic goals? The workshop will provide an introduction and overview of the field and help to better understand the challenge of RDM for academic libraries. It will describe the different RDM projects on the social sciences and humanities campus of the University of Lille, in particular the PhD training program and the development of a RDM infrastructure for the storage, preservation and sharing of research data related to ETDs. A large part of the workshop will be reserved for the discussion of the participants’ local initiatives, projects and questions.

Research and Development in the Field of Research Data and Dissertations: The D4Humanities Project at the University of Lille (France)
Schöpfel, Joachim ; Prost, Hélène ; Malleret, Cécile
The paper presents the research project D4Humanities conducted by the GERIICO laboratory at the University of Lille in the fi eld of research data management (RDM). In particular, we will describe the development of a local workfl ow for the submission of research data related to PhD dissertations and the connection to the national RDM infrastructure Huma-Num (deposit, preservation and dissemination of research data via the NAKALA service), along with our RDM training program for PhD students.

Research Data Analysis Based on the Collection of Dissertation Theses of Charles University in Prague with Regard to Long-term Digital Preservation
Pavlásková, Eliška ; Krbec, Pavel (advisor) ; Ivánek, Jiří (referee) ; Bartošek, Miroslav (referee)
This dissertation thesis focuses on research data and their use in academics from the point of view of long-term preservation. It maps usage of research data at Charles University in Prague, analyses them and lays the foundation for further research. The first part of the text focuses on the theory of long term preservation and describes the most relevant concepts regarding users, storage and structure of research data. The second part is devoted directly to research data. It consists of definition of research data, the short explanation of their importance and sources, and the model of their lifecycle. The pivotal part of the thesis is the description and the results of the research itself. The research was conducted during the year 2015 and was based on a sample of dissertation theses from the collections of Charles University in Prague. Collected data were analysed by the methods of content analysis and grounded theory. Results are presented in two main parts - content analysis results with regard to differences among science, social science and humanities, and qualitative analysis results. Challenges in Providing Unpublished Research Data in Biomedical Engineering to Grey Literature Repositories
Francová, Pavla ; Krueger, Stephanie
Regardless of the scientific field or focus, every researcher produces during his or her career a multitude of unpublished research data such as laboratory diaries, grant proposals, images etc. Although making such data more accessible undoubtedly has value for researchers, they are currently not shared in open repositories. Why are researchers still reluctant to actively use grey literature repositories for unpublished contextual materials and data? Authors will discuss how scientists might be encouraged to add such material to grey literature repositories and specific examples of unpublished research data will be shown in connection to model scientifi c project.

Making data in PhD dissertations reusable for research
Schöpfel, Joachim ; Malleret, Cécile
How can an academic library contribute to make data submitted together with PhD dissertations useful for further research? Our paper provides some recommendations for information professionals, based on a review of studies and projects and on empirical evidence from a content analysis of data sources and types from 300 print and digital dissertations in social sciences and humanities (1987–2013) and a survey on data management conducted with more than 300 scientists and PhD students in April and May 2015 on the Lille campus.

Legal aspects of primary scientific results
Myška, Matěj
This contribution focuses on the legal aspects of raw grey literature that is understood as yet to be published, interim or incomplete scientific results like raw primary data or drafts of scientific articles. Specifically the contribution deals with two problematic areas: 1) liability for damages resulting from inadequate (or even forbidden) use of the results and possibilities of limitation thereof; 2) ownership of such grey literature and contractual possibility to dispose therewith after it has been offered to official publication (i.e. the copyright issues of pre-prints, post-prints and publisher’s edition).
