Measurement of internal combustion engine performance on a chassis dynamometer
Farka, Jan ; Ramík, Pavel (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
Since the beginning of the automotive industry, a lot of years have passed and the characteristics of vehicles and all its components, especially the engine, are being given greater and greater emphasis both in terms of safety, performance and ecology. The performance of the internal combustion engine, along with a number of other vehicle features, is measured on chassis dynamometers. The aim of the thesis is to describe and analyse the dynamometers produced, the tests performed on them and also to measure the performance of the internal combustion engine on the chassis dynamometer. In conclusion, the assessment of the impact of tests on the automotive industry is just mentioned.

The part of the work is also devoted to the different types of supercharging. At the end, the individual parts of the intake system are described further.
Optimalization of Exhaust Manifold for SI Engine
Prášek, Martin ; Beran, Martin (referee) ; Svída, David (advisor)
The master thesis is focused on optimizing existing or proposal for a new exhaust tracts on the Volkswagen Polo moving series rally-cross A1 division. The car is powered by concern, water-cooled, atmospheric engine capacity 1599 ccm. To achieve the objectives of the lessons are applied as a theoretical nature (analytical calculation), especially the advanced approaches of the software environment from the firm Lotus. Exhaust treatment systems are designed to suit all rules FIA Sports Association.
Stabilized operation of the 400 kV power line
Jurča, Ondřej ; Bok, Jaromír (referee) ; Blažek, Vladimír (advisor)
This thesis deals with methods of solving lines under voltage levels of a very high transmission voltage and extra high voltage. The first, theoretical part of this paper analyses different methods how such lines are solved. In particular, an accurate solution is provided simulated by means of a line with evenly distributed parameters, and an approximate solution simulated by means of a line with lumped parameters. Furthermore, special cases of steady running conditions of the line are reviewed, such as no-load running, short-circuit run and line operation with natural load. In conclusion of the theoretical part is given a general method of solving an extra-high-tension and extra high voltage network; also, some graphical methods of solving such networks are shown including their brief description. The second, practical part of the present paper involves application of the above mentioned methods of solution on a specific line with given parameters, solving conditions at the beginning of the line under steady running conditions and in special cases of the line operation. The conclusion of the thesis summarises the obtained results and provides final assessment of the individual methods of solution in terms of calculation accuracy.
Optimalization of Induction Furnace Operation in foundry Vsetín
Trachta, Jiří ; Nowak, Stanislav (referee) ; Lázničková, Ilona (advisor)
The aim of this work is optimalisation of induction furnace in foundry for company PROMET FOUNDRY a.s. The company has two induction furnances. There are installed as identical construction. They have 2 modes of operation. First mode is founding and second mode is mode, where is temperature in maintain mode. Only one induction furnance can work in the founding mode at a time though. Inducion furnances are in the single-phase connection and they cause unbalance in the distribution network. Near the foundry there is a small network area whitch it is operated by company Zásobování teplem Vsetín a.s. The consumption of electrical energy in foundry so big, that in the year 2009 was made elaborate for Zásobování teplem Vsetín a.s. It was write at Laboratoře diagnostiky výkonů (Laboratory of performance diagnostics), which is a part of Electrotechnic Department at Technical Univarsity of Ostrava. The ordered study was named “Verification of causes of increased reactive energy consumption during transition from electricity delivery to electricity consumption”. The conclusion of this assignment confirms that in distribution network in the Jiráskova area in Vsetín there is unbalance of electrical energy and there is high part of reactive power. The next conclusion is crucial to find the customer who made the unbalance and to set relevant remedy. The last step will be the identification whether such device can actually be effectively balanced. It was subsequently proved that the Promet Foundry was causing the unbalance and that balanced consumption would be reasonable. Promet Foundry thus addressed Autel a.s. company with an inquiry to make a study of removing the causes of the unbalance which is caused by current induction furnaces operation at a minimum possible cost, least possible influence on the performance and minimum construction changes concerning the building. In this thesis there will be some topics. The result of which will be introducing of used heating technology, introducing of company and of effective plant performance and subsequent suggestions of possible unbalance removal or reactive power decrease. Several ways which are being implemented in the industry in order to balance consumption will be described. A suitable balancing plant will be subsequently chosen and its parameters will be calculated.
Performance Evaluation of Graphics Accelerator
Vanek, Juraj ; Jošth, Radovan (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
This paper deals with possibilities and functions of modern graphic accelerators and with measuring performance under OpenGL interface. Widespread algorithms to render scene in real-time are used. It focuses on how to test every part of accelerator's graphic pipeline as well as measure performance in rendering of advanced effects and theoretical speed at general purpose calculations through graphic processor. This testing is realized by implementing multiple test series and their further evaluation. Final application enables setting of test parameters and outputs a score, by which is possible to judge accelerator's performance in comparison among themselves.
Manual pumps
Matis, Michal ; Šedivý, Dominik (referee) ; Štigler, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis describes manual pumps. It contains research about history of usage of these pumps, further it deals with some pumps used today (construction, materials, pros-cons). Also it is pointing out on pumps in developing countries, which are used in places with lack of drinking water. In practical part is described design procedure of pedal-powered pump.
RF power meter
Hlaváč, Štěpán ; Jedlička,, Petr (referee) ; Drexler, Petr (advisor)
This master’s thesis describes various principles of measurement of electromagnetic waves in a free space and on a line. Used sensors and their real parameters are given for every method. The analysis of protections of high-frequency inputs of measuring instruments is done here and the most suitable method and protections of input for realization are chosen. The analysis of design of secondary protection of high-frequency input is done in this project. The protection of input is realized and measured. The suitable method of measurement is chosen as well as the sensor for measurement of power. The block diagram and circuit diagram of the meter of power are designed. According to designed conception the measuring instrument for measurement of power is realized and its single qualities are measured during the realization. In the final part its precision is measured and the evaluation of results is done.
