The first part of this bachelor’s thesis was to research various existing mechanical barriers designed to guard car parks and consider the suitability of their application based on relevant calculations including the appropriateness of their selection of components. Following the research the aim was to design an improved system for the mechanical barrier using suitable components, supported by functional calculations and appropriate technical drawings.

Digital Archiving of Technical Drawings

Bachelor thesis deals with the archiving of documents focusing on the technical drawings in the company Mondi Štětí a.s. as well as the description of what the technical drawings are and what other types of documents can be encountered in the company. The aim of this work is to capture how have technical drawings been archived in Mondi Štětí a.s. and the evaluation of the use of Microsoft SharePoint 2010 compared with the original way of archiving these documents in paper form. The document is divided into five parts. The first part briefly describes the characteristics of the company Mondi Štětí a.s., its object of activity and types of documents with which the company operates daily. The next section describes Microsoft SharePoint 2010, which the company is currently implementing and justification of selecting precisely this software. The next chapter describes the process of document digitalization and the way of use in the company. Furthermore there is an analysis of using Microsoft SharePoint 2010 compared with manual archiving method including an evaluation survey, which I presented to employees of the company, stating that the use of Microsoft SharePoint 2010 is more effective that the manual archiving methods. In addition, by analysation of the old system of archiving comparing with the new method company acquires an idea of whether it is advantageous to use this system to other types of documents that are currently held only in paper form.
