Nebesářová, Jana ; Pecka, Lukáš (referee) ; Sochor, Jan (advisor)
Project of student housing, which is interesting mainly for its rotation, which improves solar conditions of residential space, and creation of two separate objects, separated as in appearence as in function. This leads also to new city street, which is also a visible axis connecting st. Leopold Church and Táborského waterfront. The street is partly glazed and it forms an atrium, which is a center of life of whole building and a center of all ways through building. In atrium there are a little bridges, which connects both objects and also creates community spaces for accommodated students. Above atrium there are community spaces at hanging boxes. In the opposite of lower spaces, it provides more peace and beautiful views.

The architectural study built block the northern corner of town in close proximity to the center of Brno. The main thrust of the solution is particularly easy throughput area, pedestrian safety and ease of orientation in space. The architectural study of student housing is the first step change in the given locality by regulatory plan. The intention was to broken and fragmented forms of buildings to bring the urban elements, the wide streets, passages, squares and courtyards, which will evaluate and develop the character and vitality of the place. Architectural building block concept takes into account noise pollution site and responds to a bad indication, due to the north. New built-in design and layouts are designed so as to reduce the noise levels of interior space and create a resting zone in courtyard.

Kocourek, Tomáš ; Rudiš, Viktor (referee) ; Oplatek, Jiří (advisor)
The name of the project prompts the problems of legacy of industrial premises. The goal of my work was to consider, how to use the buildings in the premises in Obřany, Brno. The aim was on the most important object – former building of Essler’s spinning factory, which was supposed to be turned into school of architecture for one hundred students in two school years. The work aims on connection of the area with the city. It solves objects themselves, tries to find accurate usage of them, for example commersial premises, student housing and so on. All this is united with the concept of „union“, which goes throught the whole area and tries to create simple a most of all plesant public places. The school – building of former spinning factory – disclose it’s strenght in it‘s open space, when the whole structure of the building is visible. I came from this conviction into my project, that agreed with my image of open shool. I wanted to design a school, where students could create together, where they would have review of the whole space, about other students. Tuitions would become public matter, where everybody could join.

Interior organization carefully considers different needs of various personality types. Middle block is composed of mezzanine flats. The other two patrs are free plan organization of 1 bed or two bed rooms surrounding a corridor that servs the function of a huge living room. Corner on the south and north are glazed and communicate with the urban setting all the time. It is conceived as an urban gesture, a vibrant show of the student life performed for the city. Form of the building as well as the facade truly depicts the diversity of its interior setting. The facade is quite compact in the middle "mezanine" section and changes gradually towards its edges in thw way of pulling in and out of components - which is in this case a room. Rather long building is divided into three sections therefore resembling a more traditional street urban rythm.
