Změny v odvětvových strukturách v České republice
Man, Lukáš
Goal of the bachelor thesis is to compare changes in sectoral structure according to the NACE classification in the Czech Republic. Literary research will include theoretical concept of structural changes and its causes, especially by technological progress and globalisation. Analytical part will analyse structural changes in 2007-2017 according to 3 criteria namely employment, gross value added and average gross salary. Furthermore 3 selected industries will be compared with the Slovak republic.
Transition Periods and Long Memory Property
März, Jan ; Vácha, Lukáš (advisor) ; Polák, Petr (referee)
This thesis examines the relationship between the distribution of structural breaks within a data sample and the estimated parameter of long memory. We use Monte Carlo simulations to generate data from processes with specific values of parameters. Subsequently we join the data with various shifts to mean and examine how the estimates of the parameters vary from their true values. We have discovered that the overestimate of the long memory parameter is higher when the breaks are clustered together. It further increases when the signs of the shifts are positively correlated within the clusters while negative correlation reduces the bias. Our findings enable the improvement of robustness of estimators against the presence structural breaks. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Models of changes in econometric time sequences
Strejc, Petr ; Hušková, Marie (advisor) ; Dvořák, Marek (referee)
This paper is concerned with change-point detection in parameters of econometric regression models when a training set of data without any change is available. There are presented two well- known sequential tests - CUSUM test for linear regression model and a test based on weighted residuals for an autoregressive time series - including their asymptotical properties under certain conditions. Two asymptotically equivalent variance estimators are compared in a finite sample situation using Monte Carlo simulations. There are also presented and compared critical value approximations using different bootstrapping methods and variance estimators. Finally, the weighted residual test is applied on S&P 500 historical data.

Human heart valve allografts mechanical and morphological properties according to duration of tissue cryopreservation
Fiala, Radovan ; Burkert, Jan (advisor) ; Dominik, Jan (referee) ; Rosenberg, Josef (referee)
Background: The aortic and pulmonary allograft heart valves (AHV) are used in the cardiac surgery for replacing the impaired semilunar valves. They are harvested from donor hearts and cryostored in tissue banks. The expiration period was set to 5 years arbitrarily. We hypothesized that their mechanical and structural properties do not reasonably deteriorate after this period. Methods: A total of 64 human AHV (31 aortic and 33 pulmonary) of different length of cryopreservation (fresh, 0-5, 5-10, over 10 years) were sampled to different tissue strips (artery, leaflet, ventriculo-arterial junction, arterial ring) and tested by tensile test with loading velocity 10 mm/min until tissue rupture. Neighbouring regions of tissue were processed histologically and evaluated for elastin and collagen area fraction. The results were evaluated statistically. Results: In aortic AHV, the physical deformation response of wall samples to stress did not changed significantly neither during the process of cryopreservation nor during the first 10 years of storage. In pulmonary AHV, the ultimate strain dropped after 5 years of cryopreservation indicating that pulmonary artery was significantly less deformable at the time of rupture. On the other hand, the ultimate stress was equal during the first 10 years of...
Virtual currencies in real economy: Bitcoin
Šafka, Jiří ; Vacek, Pavel (advisor) ; Polák, Petr (referee)
This paper examines the relationship between virtual currency, the Bitcoin, and the real economy. In the first part the description of the term virtual currency is provided with special focus on Bitcoin. Also the legal and taxation issues are discussed. In the main part the volatility of Bitcoin is inspected using various models from Autoregressive heteroskedasticity models family. We found that the volatility of Bitcoin differs significantly through time and that this relation is captured best by T-GARCH (1,1) model. Finally the relationship between Bitcoin and real economy indicators is observed to be inconsistent and mostly insignificant in time. Thus we conclude that the independency of Bitcoin cannot be rejected. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Structural Change in the Course of Economic Development
Těhle, Václav ; Bajgar, Matej (advisor) ; Glazar, Ondřej (referee)
This thesis strives to identify patterns of structural change while using panel data from 38 countries and 9 economic sectors for the period from 1950 to 2005. Based on mutual correlations between individual countries, two different methods for identifying structural change patterns are designed. The first one assumes constant rate of structural change over time and uses the entire time spans provided in the dataset. Second selects for each economy only certain country-periods with significant structural transformation and looks for similarities in sequencing of these country-periods between individual countries. The classical agriculture-manufacturing pattern is dominant, but significant successful patterns mainly with growing financial and transportation sectors and falling personal and government services are also discovered. In order to provide more complex perspective, proximity maps are drawn with position of each country representing its development path relative to other economies. Lastly, relationship between structural change and economic growth is proven and further examined by listing several stylized facts about the structural transformation, which are evaluated using the provided data.
