BRNO – NEW SOUTH CENTRE LOCATION – POŘÍČÍ, BRIDGES TRINITY, THE AREA OF COMMUNICATION AND SOCIAL INTEGRATION, MULTIFUNCTIONAL OBJECT AND SPACE
Tasch, Daniel ; Obtulovič, Marek (referee) ; Kiszka, Josef (advisor)
The aim of my work was to create a multifunctional house, which serves as a connection between the city center of Brno and its industrial part. This building is also in direct contact with the historic viaduct that would be excavated for this project. Today, this historic viaduct serves as a railway line. However, according to the new KAM proposal, the main Brno railway station is planned to be diverted, so that the viaduct will remain unused. For this reason, it also adds character and interest to the bridge on which I decided to design this project. The houses on the bridges over the river are not something out of the ordinary. They are not built at all to the extent expected. The house on the bridge provides not only a practical connection between the two banks and the use of each place for development, but also an aesthetic pleasure. It is something that is not seen every day.
Architectural study of the sacral object Brno - Líšeň
Bortlová, Kateřina ; Marek, Jiří (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor)
The content of the diploma thesis was an architectural study of a sacral building in Brno - Líšeň. The subject of the study was the elaboration of an ideological design of a sacral complex, which consisted of a church and a parish. The main operator of the whole complex will be the Salesian community, whose background is in close proximity to the area. The basic idea of the design was to design a spiritual place, which in its form conveys clear information about the use of the object and at the same time supports the development of ideas of the Salesian community. It is a structure that conveys the mission itself, not by one element, but by a set of several elements that together create a story, vision, mission. The ideological solution in this case thus becomes an equilateral triangle, which symbolizes the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. With its dominant vertical direction facing the sky, the object symbolically points to the spiritual path and self-realization. The given area is solved as a complex, the elements of which complement each other and thus create a harmonious whole. The design creates a space for both liturgical celebrations in the interior and exterior, which is used by the outdoor presbytery, which is complemented by residential stairs. These elements are intended to encourage residents to meet and establish friendly relations.
New South District and its Connection to Svratka
Čech, Richard ; Hybská, Bohumila (referee) ; Sedláček, Michal (advisor)
The diploma thesis is based on the urban design of a selected part of the South Quarter, which was the subject of a pre-diploma thesis in 2018, whose main concept was to use the potential of the flowing river Svratka to define the borders of the "Brno Island" by creating a water canal around the perimeter of the area. Water creates the boundary between city ties and the island, which provides a unique opportunity to create architecturally interesting buildings and create an interesting environment for life with almost direct contact with water in the center of Brno. The thesis deals with the architectural study of the selected block of the "Brno Island". It is an apartment building with rentable space in the parterre. The main architectural concept consists in transforming the natural form of the river bay into an architecturally formulated mass that creates a unique living environment. The character of the parterre resembles the stone coast on which the dwelling is built, which is not trying to compete with this environment, nor to thematise itself, but fit into such a conceived landscape.
The hermit colony
Jakubcová, Eva ; Plaček, Miroslav (referee) ; Donaťáková, Dagmar (advisor)
This construction programme deals with a hermit colony located in the western part of the Vysočina Region. This hermit colony has been established to provide accommodation for women living in this area permanently while offering an opportunity of occasional relaxation for people who are living hectic lives in urban environment. The aim of my project is to design the remaining parts of the colony, i.e. two hermitages and the community’s chapel. A hermitage is a one-storey building intended for one person only. The load-bearing walls of the individual hermitages are designed to be built from different materials (wooden and masonry constructions) whereas the elevational structures of all the buildings are to be the same. The chapel’s wall system combines stone and wood. The chapel will serve solely the purposes of the community. The main objective of my project is to respect and maintain the natural features of the landscape to the maximum extent possible.
Návrh nábytkového solitéru s použitím dřeva a kamene
Borbélyová, Jozefína
The thesis deals with the design of table furniture for a public interior in the form of a solitaire. It highlights the importance of using sustainable materials, interprets the trend of returning to nature, emphasizing the use of given materials such as solid wood and natural stone. The work includes the design of a coffee table complemented by a collection of bar and dining tables as a possible transformation and use of design. The visual application of the theme is aimed more at the demanding customers asking for high quality solitaires for their hotel or café interiors. Therefore, the thesis deals with the analysis of individual materials, typology and ergonomics of table furniture, evaluation of the historical context and selected solutions from the present in the theoretical part. Finally, it summarizes the safety requirements and the legislation in force for the product in question. The practical part presents the all-encompassing design process, including variants, the final design itself, its justification, and conveys the entire production process of the prototype.

The aim of the methodology is to become a tool for proper decision-making and care of historic masonry arch bridges serving our transport network and to contribute to their preservation. It should help to identify and correctly assess their historical significance and their cultural, structural and heritage value. To correctly guide the process of their professional evaluation and proposals for their maintenance and restoration. Demonstrate the possibilities of their correct assessment in terms of their structural-technical condition and structural-mechanical action, enabling their preservation in reliable operation in traffic. By means of these correct procedures, it would like to establish general confidence in their design principles and craftsmanship and to translate this into the design of reconstruction and restoration interventions or appropriate adaptations with modern sensitive additions. It is intended to enable the legitimate existence and functioning of these irreplaceable buildings for our present and future.

Appropriate restoration practices to preserve traces of stone working. The use of close-range photogrammetry to evaluate the suitability of restoration procedures
Cihla, Michal ; Frommeltová, E. ; Hodač, J. ; Kovářová, K. ; Pavelka, K. ; Panáček, M. ; Valach, Jaroslav
This preservation procedure is the result of the research project entitled „Building stone surface topography and its application in the field of stone features restoration“ No.DG20P02OVV021, supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic. The aim of the preservation procedure was to verify the suitability and applicability of precise measuring methods in order to assess the degree of restoration intervention in the area of traces of stone surface working. The method of close-range photogrammetry was chosen as a tool to evaluate the changes in the topography of stone surfaces bearing traces of working.

Zavadil, Tomáš ; Mrázek, Jiří (advisor) ; Roskovec, Jan (referee)
Title: Psalm 118 in The New Testament Author: Tomáš Zavadil Department: Department of The New Testament Supervisor: doc. Jiří Mrázek, Th.D. Abstract: The purpose of my thesis is to analyze the usage of the Psalm 118 in The New Testament. The thesis consists of several parts; first, I give a list of all quotations and allusions of the psalm in The New Testament according to the edition Nestle-Aland. Next, I show links between the texts, describe how the original text enriches the meaning of the new contexts and how the intertextuality can be used in biblistic research. In contrast to traditional approach I emphasize the contribution of one-word allusions. I'm also trying to offer historical background of the Psalm and show its use in liturgy, especially in the context of the first century; as the Psalm was one of the most favourite Psalms. The following part of my work gives brief explanations of the passages in The New Testament where their authors quote or refer to the the Psalm 118. I focus especially on pericopes Mk 11,1-11 and Mk 12,1-12, where I analyze the allusions of the Psalm 118 in detail. The conclusion summarizes all findings of this exegetic work. Key words: quotation, allusion, Psalm 118, The New Testament, Jesus, Messiah, king, salvation, stone, feasts, intertextuallity
