Smartphone

This bachelor thesis is focused on the hardware of smartphones, common operating systems and describes appliacations primarily based on mobile platforms. First section mentions types of smartphone's construction, hardware components and explains the basic processes taking place in them. The purpose if this section is to dolare the limits of the smartphone's performance. The second section is based on the most expanded operating systems used on cellphones, their architecture and history, specific features and attitude toward the user and the distribution of applications to help to choose appropriate systém for a user. Third section is focused on categories of applications with examples of their usage across the platforms. Scoring of their usability is included. The last section summarizes the data collected from the questionnaire and presents them in graphic way.
Overview of platforms for mobile application development

This bachelor work deals with the evaluation of mobile platforms from the perspective of mobile applications developers. The aim of this thesis is to establish criteria for mobile platform evaluating from the per-spective of novice developer, who wants to develop applications in his free time, and to use them for comparison of selected mobile platforms so that the reader will be able to ad-just them to his preferences and then choose the best option for him. This aim was achieved by synthesis of information from Czech and foreign sources, under which were created my own recommendations for choosing a platform for mobile applications devel-opment. The thesis is structured as follows: first is captured the market share of different mobile platforms in the Czech and worldwide mobile operating systems market, then are described three major mobile platforms (Android, iOS and Windows Phone) in detail, focusing on the specifics of mobile application development, in the next chapter are defined evaluation criteria according to novice hobby developers and the conclusion is based on comparison of selected mobile platforms by the selected criteria. This thesis provides developers with the necessary information and recommendations for the choice of platform for developing mobile applications. In the Czech Republic has not been yet published any work, which compares so comprehensive the most important mo-bile platforms and evaluated them from the perspective of mobile applications developers.
Comparison of mobile operating systems

The aim of this thesis is an analysis of current mobile operating systems. The theoretical part will focus on the most popular operating systems that are designed for mobile devices. The introduction will explain terms such as smartphone, mobile operating system, and part is focus to the history and development of smartphones. Further I will deal with major players in the market for operating systems. The aim is to describe in detail their characteristics, summarized the pros and cons and then compares these systems in my pre-defined criteria. In the introduction, I present analytical representation of the mobile platforms in the world market. The practical part consists of a questionnaire survey focused on the share of mobile platforms on the market in the Czech Republic. The results compare with the world situation in the market for mobile operating systems, based on the introduction to the analytical part. The aim is to compare the results and show deviations from the global scale.
Mobile Marketing in Czech Republic

Main topic of the Master's Thesis is mobile marketing in Czech Republic and the goal is to describe development of mobile devices, provided services and usage in marketing and marketing communication. Theoretical part is concerning development of the mobile devices and services where each topic is followed by a case study. Practical part contains quantitative and qualitative research. Quantitative on-line based research was conducted on sample of 100 deliberately chosen users. Main goal of this research was evaluation of average user experience with mobile marketing. Qualitative research was conducted by guided discussion with experts in the area of mobile marketing. Main goal of the research was assess actual scope of the use by marketers in context of the situation on the Czech market and discuss future development of this area.
Mobile devices in ERP

This diploma thesis deals with support employee's mobility in ERP systems. In the opening it describes contemporary trends in the use of mobile devices in companies, followed by overview of basic functionality, which is essential for deploying those devices in the enterprise environment. Next part is focused on the integration of mobile devices into enterprise architecture. It consists of description, how the information from identified ERP modules is made available for mobile devices. New activities are connected with mobile device integration, especially security and management. Therefore several options covering these activities are mentioned in this thesis. Last part provides study of company Diskus spol. s r.o., where two problems are being discussed - low support for field workers and missing security policies for mobile devices. Last contribution is the comparison of support for mobile devices in ERP systems from the selected Czech providers (ABRA Gx, Byznys ERP, Helios Orange, K2, Karat and Premier System).
Trends in mobile phone market

The graduation thesis "Trends in mobile phones development" is focusing principally on detailed analysis of mobile phone market on a global scale. The aim of this thesis is to elaborate comprehensive analysis of mobile phone market oriented on phones with operating systems (smartphones). The analysis is drawn primarily from the perspective of the key players in the market and comparison of these manufactures. After the descriptive part, where is introduced market as a whole, market segmentation by volume and value, this section focuses on segmentation of the global market by key players. This descriptive part is completed by market segmentation according to the amount of mobile phones sold by key players. Second analysis is segmented by operating system. Following parts of the thesis is more practical. This part of the thesis is analyzing the companies, which are selling smartphones. In this part I started by describing a brief overview about what the market is, what is focusing on and what their advantages and pitfalls are. My focus is analyzing the market via Porter's analysis and SWOT analysis of individual manufactures. Finally, I analyze the financial indicators from year 2007 to present. In conclusion I come to recommendations what manufactures should and should not to do. Chapter with warnings is described by the products on the market, which failed in recent years. At very end I come to the evaluation and recommendations, which theoretically should bring some positive progress to companies. The main contribution of this thesis is to provide comprehensive, detailed analysis of the market of mobile phones and smartphones manufactures on a global scale. One of the benefits is the collection of information, data and analysis describing the current state of the market, but also recommendations practices, to which I reached via progression of the this work. Thanks to unique appreciation of the global mobile phone market, their indicators and strategic information, it is necessary to say that this thesis can be very valuable material for some readers, who want to get overview, or seek accurate information about certain manufacture.
Analysis of mobile platforms

In this thesis I focus on the prevailing mobile platforms, which are nowadays used in smartphones. There is their history until today and their advantages and disadvantages. Also there are market shares of each platforms in 2010. In the practical part I concentrate on Android applications, which are used in sport. Applications are compared and evaluated under set criteria. In the final section are presents case studies for different groups of people.
Analysis of mobile operating systems market

The aim of this thesis was mapping a chosen part of the mobile phones market, aligned to Smartphones with operating systems. The opening part deals with theoretical basis - and consists of operating systems properties, origin of so-called smart mobile devices and details of systems available on the market today. The second part is practical, with aid of information available from open sources, deals with analyzing global and European market of mobile operating systems. The conclusion consists of author's visions of the future, based on the results of the analyses, experiences and other available expert prognoses.
Developing mobile applications in .NET CF

The bachelor thesis deals with developing applications using.NET Compact Framework. It describes a development of NET CF versions and their contribution for users. Thesis describes controls which are in different distributions of .NET CF for different devices (PocketPC, Smartphone) and it shortly describes Integrated Development Environment Visual Studio 2008. It also deals with possibilities for testing applications namely with Microsoft Device Emulator V3 which is linked with Integrated Development Environment Visual Studio 2008. It analyzes options possibilities of this emulator. Thesis puts the accent on creating layout and possibilities for his creating in Integrated Development Environment Visual Studio 2008. At the end of the thesis there is mentioned a practical example. It is application for sending SMS messages. All steps for creation of application are caught in screenshots.
