Behaviour Patterns and Development Approaches of Small Enterprises

None of the company, including small businesses, if they want to survive in the current dynamic environment and growth, can not remain static, so some level of adjustment, improvement or change becomes an essential part of operating a business. In order for organizations to grow and survive in the current environment, they must respond to external and internal stimuli and develop systematically. Over time, organizations have developed a strong and persistent pattern of behavior. The aim of the dissertation thesis is to identify and explain the development approaches of small enterprises from the chosen service sector in the Czech Republic through strategic and other internally realized organizational changes and capturing the overall patterns of behavior in the form of the interactive effect of the attributes of the development of these enterprises. The thesis is based on the literature on corporate behavior in organizational theory and the subcategory of organizational changes due to the focus on aspects of decision making in organizations in a changing environment that deals with issues related to the different nature, context and process of change and their proactive or reactive character. The thesis is based on the researcher's pragmatic attitude in the form of a mixed research strategy implemented by a combination of quantitative and qualitative research on a sample of small firms falling under the category of knowledge intensive services. Based on the triangulation of the empirical data obtained from the questionnaire survey and the outputs in the form of a comparative case study on the two most represented in this category representatives (IT services and architectural activities), the results are presented with a view to answering the research questions and objectives stated in this work . The outputs of the dissertation identify specific developmental approaches in the behavior of the Czech population of knowledge intensive services as subsets of SMEs and also reveal the content of the context between the individual attributes of the development of these companies. The results of the research bring practical and theoretical benefits, which are discussed in the conclusion of this work.
Specifics of marketing communication of small businesses

The aim of my bachelor thesis is to propose communication changes of selected company based on the analysis of specifics of marketing communication of small businesses. The theoretical part defines small businesses, describes the advantages and disadvantages of this type of business and possibilities of support in the Czech Republic. It also deals with individual tools that are used in marketing communication. These tools include advertising, sales promotion, event marketing, public relations, personal sales, direct marketing and sponsorship. Attention is also paid to new technologies of marketing communication of small businesses. The practical part is based on theoretical knowledge and an analysis of the specifics of marketing communication is done by observing the cafe called Kousek. The next part proposes a change in communication that will help the selected company to better communicate with the environment.

Business plan for an e-shop with babywearing products in Denmark

This bachelor thesis focuses on creating a business plan for an e-shop with babywearing products in Denmark. The theoretical part describes the specifics of running a business in Denmark, the motivation for starting a business, the specifics of an e-shop and the overall structure of the business plan. The practical part deals with a business plan for a particular e-shop. This business plan can serve as an inspiration for other entrepreneurs who try to fill in a gap in the market and create an e-shop. The important phenomenons connected to e-commerce such as internet marketing and legislation are taken in consideration.
Business plan of a pastry-shop

This bachelor thesis deals with the processing of business plan of a pastry- shop. Theoretical part describes small businesses and its impact on regional development, business in Šumperk area, processing of Lean Canvas and theoretical draft of business plan. Practical part includes actual business plan of real pastry-shop which has a big impact on cultural and communal life it the town. This thesis will provide information, suggestions and recommendations for new business owners in small towns in the Czech Republic who will want to profile their businesses in similar way and also for city council.
Analysis and comparison of personnel management in micro and small business

The subject of this Bachelor's Thesis is the matter of personnel management in conditions of micro and small businesses. Main goals are, except from improvement of theoretical knowledge of this field, most importantly a description of personnel management in two small Czech companies (ETC spol. s r.o. and Vyšehradský restaurant Kandelábr) and a following comparison of discovered facts with the research focused on specifics of HR management in small businesses which was conducted by VŠE academe researchers in 2006. The work itself is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical one is focused on the main conceptual apparatus corresponding with the analysed corporations and the importance of HR in such companies together with the most important personnel services. A description of personnel management with concrete examples of personnel work in the above named can be found firms in the practical part. The conclusion is dedicated to an evaluation of correspondence of discovered specifics with the mentioned research.
Development of a new IT service of a telephone service provider

This diploma thesis deals with the analysis of launching a new IT product on the Czech market. It focuses on small businesses and introduces an IT product intended for this specific kind of a clientele. There is no such a product on the market, which leads to an excellent potential in this field. On the basis of experience, the company in which the IT product is introduced finds it crucial to develop a reliable marketing mix as well as strategy because it is difficult to offer these IT products to people owning smalls businesses who do not understand the technological aspects of such products. The theoretical part, therefore, provides the definition of the main marketing terms, B2B market, marketing strategy, marketing mix, SWOT analysis and a detailed description of launching a new product on the market, including the explanation of the differences between launching a product and service. The practical part of this paper gives information about a telephone service provider and its major competitors and it describes the IT products situation on the Czech market. The thesis also recommends a particular marketing mix of the selected product and a sale strategy. The success rate of the product is analysed on the basis of an interview with a small business and the opinion of the manager of a company in which the product is introduced.
Selection and implementation of ERP system for small expanding companies

This diploma thesis focuses on the process improvements and selection of appropriate ERP system in terms of small companies. In the theoretical part it explains the concept of process and methods of its analysis, management and business process improvements. There are also characterized the basic types of ERP systems and their potential acquisition process. The practical part is divided into two functional units, where the first one is the analysis of processes and proposals for their improvement in a specific company. The second part deals with the analysis and selection methods of specific ERP system for the specific company.
Small businesses in Prachatice during the years after the World War II. Contribution to the economic history of the town in the half of the 20th century

The purpose of this bachelor´s is to map the development of small businesses in Prachatice during the period so-called Third Czechoslovak Republic, between the years 1945-1948 with an extra overlap until 1954. To a large extent the time-span is influenced by character of archiv materials firstly being more comprehensive between the years 1948-1954, as far as various public notices, list of small businesses and few photographs are considered. Based on such materials the development of firm trade, yet its structural changes are defined, and futhermore situated into political, economical and social context of the Czechoslovakian state or, as the case may be, of South Bohemia and the Prachatice district. The small-businesses development is continuousty compared with another two location, i.e. Vimper in 1946 and Volary (1946, 1948-1954). Last but not least, this work endeavours to compare the pre- and post-war firm trade´s condition.
Analysis of the marketing activities of selected small businesses

An integral part of business should be systematic and continuous process of creation, coordination and control of marketing activities. Marketing is important for easy penetration of the market, so that a prosperous and firm to ensure the continued existence market. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the marketing activities of selected service firms, mutual comparison of these activities on the basis of analyzes carried out to design the next process of improving these activities. For analysis, three firms were examined in which their marketing activities. Based on the analysis of the marketing mix, Porter's model, analysis of the communication mix and SWOT analysis to identify appropriate strategic approaches and suggestions for how marketing activities of units. Suggestions for improvement were recommended with respect to the financial possibilities owners analyzed service companies.
