Automatic configuration of intermediate networking devices used in Cisco academy
Verner, Lukáš ; Jeřábek, Jan (referee) ; Komosný, Dan (advisor)
his semestral´s thesis deals with proposal and system implementation for automatic configuration of Cisco network devices. This system is called AutoConf and it is intended for distant copying configuration files from eagle-server to the switches and routers in Cisco academy laboratory. It is handled by web pages placed on eagle-server. In this system, user can create new laboratory exercises with configuration files for network devices and then these files could be used for configurations. Informations about done configurations are saved in relation database MySQL. Network devices which will be configured by system AutoConf have to be connected with eagle-server. To setup their connection settings was created decision-making mechanism. If it detects physical connection between network device and eagle-server before network device starts, it will set network device for communication with eagle-server.
Testing of QoS support in experimental data network
Fogl, Miroslav ; Škorpil, Vladislav (referee) ; Novotný, Vít (advisor)
This work deals with the qualitative requirements on services in IP networks based on technology Ethernet. We describe basic methods for imposing quality control mechanisms on services within networks. We elaborate on the ways, in which packets can be handled, overload controlled and transfer speed in network elements limited. Attention is given also to the Network Layer and Link Layer. Based on concrete specifications of network devices in UTKO laboratory an experimental network was designed and constructed. Network consisting of routers and switches linked several servers with client stations. Various types of data transfers (VoIP, HTTP, FTP, video) were generated. Several techniques for handling packets with different priorities were verified and compared. We observed that, in situations when connections are under full load, implementation of QoS support in the network becomes very important. This observation was confirmed by measurements. We also measured the parameters of the system during simulations of various situations, such as overload of a connection due to unsolicited operations or failure of a connection between routers. In order to guarantee the quality of services it is necessary to create a domain, in which rules are consistently observed in all network elements.

Simulation of data transmission latency between nodes in IP networks
Balej, Jiří ; Molnár, Karol (referee) ; Komosný, Dan (advisor)
This master thesis is focused on the delays incurred in data transmitting over IP networks. The top of the paper is devoted to points, where delay is invoked and causes of the latency. For individual sources of delay are are described the parameters that affect the usual size of latency. The next section describes the types of networks and their typical delay. In the paper are also discussed tools for measuring delay and determining the number of intermediate devices. The thesis contains results of measurements delay time in the real network. For these results are listed conclusions about the delay for one intermediate device. There is also said general ratio of crow-fly distance and calculated distance. The last part deals the simulation of delay in the NS2 program. The results of thesis are scripts that shows the relation of delay and the number of switches, routers, and the length of the path.
Establishment of the Linux internet gateway using advanced filtering
Matocha, Tomáš ; Pust, Radim (referee) ; Jelínek, Mojmír (advisor)
The thesis Establishment of the Linux internet gateway using advanced filtering focuses on~the installation of~the Linux operating system on~the older computers, that functions as a gateway to connect clients in the internal network to the Internet. The thesis describes creation an advanced filter with using iptables. Shows some types of security against attacks from the Internet. The other chapters are discussed, advanced traffic control mechanism (such as a TC and a qdisc). The system queue, it is highly beneficial where it is necessary to hierarchically divide traffic between users. It describes types of queue and assembled configurations for clients in the internal network. Next chapter describes the DNS server caching-only type and application denyhosts, which increases the overall security system. Have your own DNS server is certified, especially if we want to reduce the data traffic. Last chapter describes the RADIUS server and its implementation using Apache and MySQL database. Furthermore, the configuration options are described and the examples of the particular configurations are provided. Finally, it presented a system for authentication through the RADIUS server. The thesis seeks to provide a~complex view of security and filtering.
Self-organizing MESH wireless networks
Němec, Petr ; Burget, Radim (referee) ; Růčka, Lukáš (advisor)
This master thesis deals with self organized Mesh network. It describes routing and particular routing protocols, which are used in these networks. The thesis deals with Mesh network QoS assurance. Analysis and theoretical background of Mesh networks, routing and router protocols are included in the first chapter. Basic models of assuring Quality of Service are also described. Those are Best Effort, IntServ and DiffServ. Second chapter describes the devices used in the specific Mesh network topology - Trospos 5210 MetroMesh router produced by Motorola Canopy. Basic settings and properties required to establish a Mesh network are described. Next part of the thesis is the design implementation, which involves creation and configuration of the Mesh Network. Network configuration consisting of two Gateway points and afterwards behaviors of the network in a steady state versus one gate failure are compared. Furthermore, implementation of QoS according to components that support two types of QoS assurance regarding type of bandwidth reservation and defined traffic classes. In conclusion, the thesis describes measurement methods of QoS parameters for chosen applications, evaluation and comparison of measurement results for both types of Quality of Service assurance.

IPv6 support in smaller Internet service provider.
Pangrác, Vojtěch ; Pavlíček, Luboš (advisor) ; Beneš, Jiří (referee)
This work is aimed at new Internet protocol version 6. This protocol is firstly described generally. Then I have intoduced several common, generally respected IPv6 transition. The last part is oriented on real transition model, which is described on company from Rakovnik. This company figured as local Internet service provider. This solution includes individual phase of transition, opinions and evaluation from my colleagues and also timetable and financial plan. The model, which I think out could be available for most of smaller internet service providers.
