Reactions of Foreign Performers of Popular Music to Selected Social Issues in the 21st Century

The diploma thesis deals with the reactions of foreign performers of popular music to selected social issues in the 21st century. The diploma thesis is divided into a theoretical part, a research methodology and an empirical part. In the theoretical part, the development of popular music is described and its genres are introduced. Selected social issues of today are also theoretically explained. Qualitative analyzes and research questions are defined in the research methodology. The empirical part includes two main types of research. In the first phase, a qualitative analysis of the content of musical texts together with a qualitative analysis of foreign media content is used on musical texts from this century. In-depth interviews are conducted in the second phase of the empirical part. In the conclusion, the results of the empirical part are interpreted and summarized. The aim of this diploma thesis is to find out, through qualitative analyzes and research questions, how world celebrities from the field of popular music stand towards selected social issues of the 21st century and what impact their opinions can have on the general public. A method of programming the TV channel ČT1 in connection with its focus groups

This thesis deals with programming of the TV channel ČT1 in connection with its audience. The first part of this thesis is a theoretical explanation of the television programming. It clarifies reasons and methods of the channel structure, then it introduces the research of viewer ratings. It concerns the techniques of the television programming whose goal is to gain sufficient ratings of the stated programme. However, it also determines the Czech Television as a public broadcaster with respect to the Czech law. It tries to explain how this fact affects programming of the Czech Television's channels. The second part of this thesis consists of practical research of programme ČT1. It analyses four weeks in 2015, it clarifies their main features. It takes knowledge from three interviews with the key operatives who are responsible for the programming at the Czech Television. It also devotes to the fact how the target audience forms placing of programmes sociologically. It is known that the association of human life with television broadcasting is necessary and strong. Besides, it identifies the channel ČT1 as it is, it compares its target audience with other channels of Czech television. The topic of thesis Linguistic Analysis of Historical Text by Augustin Mitis Kázání o povětří is the linguistic analysis of historical text Kázanj O Powětřj, which comes from the year 1620 and his author was Augustin Mitis. Text is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part the orthography and language of humanistic era is described. Practical section is bringing results of analysis of linguistic layers: orthography, phonetics, morphology, word formation and syntax. During the creation of the thesis is used the qualitative textual analysis, which is supplemented by the quantitative statistical analysis. The supplement of this thesis contains additional research, which contains analysis of two pages of print Wýklad Modlitby Boží, which comes from the same printing house as analyzed text. In the chapter about orthography the way of print is described. In this print was used the Brethren՚s orthography. Analysis of phonetic changes shows that they are not common. The chapter about morphology is focusing on representation of word classes and grammatical categories of nouns and verbs. The author of this thesis endeavours to create a comprehensive portrait of Hanuš Bartoň, a Czech contemporary composer, pianist, and academic educator. The thesis is focused on his compositions and his contribution as a pianist and a teacher with the aim to establish a practical source of information. This source ought to fulfil both its musicological potential, especially concerning the analysis of Czech classical music of the end of the 20th century up till now, as well as its potential in the field of education, noting Bartoň's works for children and his academic pedagogical contribution. The thesis is systematically organised into several parts. The main body starts with the composer's biography. The attention then moves to his compositions, which are systematically presented and commented on from the perspective of Bartoň's musical style development and its tendencies. His works adhere to the postmodern ideal considering the fact that the music deals in a specific way with the synthesis of stylistic elements. The scope of his oeuvre is relatively wide. Music at the Chatéau Sychrov

The aim of the thesis is to introduce the musical life at the Chatéau Sychrov and chart the music events since the history after the music events taking place in the present. Althought the musical life at the Cahtéau Sychrov is abundant. That is in the way of the history as well the way of the present, there is no study, or thesis, which would be dedicated to this issue. The intention of the thesis is to fill this vacancy and introduce the musical life at the Chatéau Sychrov in the context. Thesis is stated by the characteristic of the Chatéau Sychrov and it's general history. There is introduced musical instruments found at the Chatéau, I deal with Antonín Dvořák's journeys, who visited the Chatéau regulerly, peaces he composed there and his legacy, for ex. Choir Antonín Dvořák and Antonín Dvořák's festival. Then is introduced the musical life at the Chatéau in the present.
