TRANSFORMATION OF BRONX IN BRNO
Najvarová, Lucie ; Karasová, Miroslava (referee) ; Havliš, Karel (advisor)
The strategy reacts to social exclusion of inhabitants of the Cejl district. It supports employment and intends to build a dynamic public space, that is missing in the area. Social urbanism focuses on the interaction of inhabitants between each other and with the spaces, and creates conditions for new workplaces. The massive broken block gets the order. The park defines a system for future development and opens up new possibilities of usage. Thanks to its low cost construction, the park can work immediately. The order created by the park allows the future objects to emerge freely and spontaneously. The design is not definitive, but it works in every phase or combination.

The aim of the thesis is to design a transfer terminal in Dvůr Králové nad Labem, which will combine the current bus station and a new train line. The terminal is composed as a continuous shared space – with no boundaries between the traffic area, the public and the commercial space. I decentralize the functions and deviate from the zoning of space. I design the whole area as one unit - a pedestrian zone without any unnecessary boundries.

The area is located in Brno, close to the Svratka river. It has got a very good residental background, to its inhabitants it offers many possibilities of living. Also by traffic, it is very easily connected with the center, either by car or by a public transport. Komin is a very atractive place for living and even with nowdays modern age it still carries its old village atmosphere and gives the tranquility and nature to whom live there. And especially the forest was one of the conceptual ideas for me.
