The first part of my work focuses on the theoretical description of EU regional policy, its evolution and the description and the objectives of the different programming periods. In this part of the work is also described which EU funds are being used for co-financing of different goals. Furthermore I define all operational programs which can be used to draw funds to provide grants. These information are necessarry to choose the right operational program to use. For the particular project co-financed from the European Union, I present an economic analysis of the project and a questionnaire survey which I use to do a qualitative assessment of the project and its help for the development of the region.

Využitelnost permakulturních zahrad v rámci reforestace kantonu Gualaquiza, Ekvádor

This diploma thesis presents principles of creating permaculture gardens with consideration of specific conditions of tropical rain forest in the canton Gualaquiza, Ecuador. The aim of this thesis was to create a project proposal for a permaculture garden in a form corresponding to the requirements of the selection procedure for a small local project. The theoretical part discusses alternative ways and possibilities of agriculture. The following are the possibilities of involvement in development cooperation in the conditions of the Czech Republic. Based on the development call, a complete project was created for the creation of a permaculture garden on the fields owned by the non-profit organization Bosque Medicinal. At the end of the thesis, there are discussed opportunities for project development in the future. The conclusion is also available in English and Spanish.

This thesis deals with the creation of the project of development cooperation, which was based on the feasibility study. The aim this thesis is create the project proposal development aid, its aim will be independence and especially secular sustainability of candles workroom in the city Vyshkovo in Ukraine. This thesis is divided in to three parts, theoretical part, where are detail information, which describe the given topic, practical topic, in this part is contained the analysis of the chosen area and identification of project. And a last part, within the framework of which was created the feasibility study. To writing the whole thesis I used all information from interviews, participating and non-participating observation. All of this information were taken on the base of practical training in Ukraine.

The diploma thesis concentrates on the creation and application of a development pro-ject in the village Woen Buek. The thesis characterizes Thailand, its development chal-lenges and tourism as a tool of developing rural communities. The development project proposal focuses on the implementation of the tourism product Homestay, which is ex-pected to contribute to the decrease of poverty of group members and the entire com-munity. This will help local inhabitants get involved in Community-based tourism, while striving to preserve the lifestyle of local residents.
Role and motivation of volunteers in development projects: A case study of Czech volunteers

Motivation is a key factor influencing an individual to become a volunteer. This study examines the motivation Czech volunteers to work on development projects, based on data obtained from the survey and scientific articles. The survey was conducted on 80 Czech volunteers from various Czech NGOs, 40 out of 80 were volunteers working for Kintari organization in Indonesia. The main motivation for volunteering were divided into five sections according to orientation; altruism, culture, philanthropy, traveling and socializing. Differences were identified among respondents when Kintari volunteers chose culture and travel, which is closely related to their length of stay, while volunteers from other Czech NGOs selected altruism and philanthropy. Subsequently, based on the test of factor analysis (FA) was created a domains consisting of the items questionnaire. In the statistical measurements and indicators were using factor analysis which was deemed appropriate, and Cronbach's alpha coefficient, which verified the estimate of the level of internal consistency and Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin measurement to determine the suitability of the selected data. The calculation used t-test for socio-demographic attributes excluded the thesis that females are more altruistically motivated than males. Respondents confirmed altruistic and egoistic gain experience from volunteering, including the development of communication skills, stress management, development of empathic skills, understanding of the local community, opportunities to participate in social events, work in a multicultural team and the ability to be part of social groups. Kintari volunteers cause on the project preferentially associate with opportunities to experience the culture and travel, while other volunteers from the Czech NGOs travelled mainly due to work and own education, which is closely related to the fact that they had more previous experience from other projects. The general rule confirmed that a shorter stay affects more altruism, socialization and desire to travel. As an area of weakness, Kintari volunteers market communication and cooperation with the management organization (missing feedback), and insufficient provision of educational aids.

The bachelor's thesis discusses the topics of rural development and rural communities through the lense of a powerful tool for rural development: the added value of a product. The chosen approach is illustrated by a case study aiming to propose a model development project for an actual rural community in Thailand with regards to the character, circumstances, and needs of the community. The project analyzes the initial state of the project area and provides a financial and market analysis, risk analysis and SWOT analysis. Based on acquired data, the Ban Woek Buek village has the ideal conditions for the realization of the proposed project. The primary benefit from successful implementation of the project will be an increase in additional income for the rural community and improvement in socio-economic status of one of the most impoverished villages in Thailand. The proposal part discusses a range of possible ways as to how similar projects may contribute to the development of the area.

This thesis deals with the methodology for creating development projects, analysis of selected areas where is possible to apply a development project, and then it includes a concrete project proposal. The aim is to present a complete desing project plan with all the necessary formalities with the use of the full potential of the place where the project is implemented. Thesis deals with the literature review of development issues and project management, as well as describing the economic and social aspects in the selected country, Thailand. The practical part contains an analysis of the territory an it continues with a development project proposal, which is administered by the feasibility study. This project deals with the implementation of a new tourism product in a Thai village Woen Buek through the restoration of traditional shipping on the Mekong River. The study used a method of participant observation in the field, interviews with stakeholders, consultations and workshops. For the analysis and the project proposal was used sources of information obtained from the materials from research and literature and my own invention
