Development of initial reading literacy at the disadvatages areas

Master's thesis deals with the initial reading literacy of pupils, who live in a disadvantaged area. The goal is to determine, which factors affect their reading literacy, both negatively and positively. And which methods and procedures are convenient during the lesson. The theoretical part contains four chapters. The topics are: disadvantaged area, Roma and their relationship to education, methods of initial reading, pre-school preparation and preparatory class. In practical part, the goal is to find answers to three research questions. And that in the form of interviews with teachers, who teach at school in disadvantaged area. Second form are case studies of specific pupils. It was possible to find answers to two research questions. How is it with Roma pupils with initial reading literacy? Due to the unstimulating environment, the pupil's reading literacy is almost zero, until he starts going to elementary school or the preparatory class. Pupils are often enrolled in nursery school, but unfortunately attendance is often very poor. What factors are the most influential, in terms of reading literacy of pupils from disadvantaged area? Vzdělávání romských žáků na středních odborných školách

The (bachelor) thesis deals with the issue of education of Roma pupils at secondary vocational schools. It focuses on the experience with teachers who participate in the education of these pupils. The theoretical part is divided into five sections. The first one presents a historical introduction to the issue of Roma education in the context of multicultural education and subsequently defines the phenomenon of the uneducated Roma. The following section is devoted to the description of forms of education of Roma pupils at Czech schools, respectively their position in the domestic educational process. The next section follows the previous one as it describes aspects of Roma education in secondary schools. The penultimate section summarizes attitudes of pedagogical workers towards Roma pupils and points out the most common pitfalls during the education of this ethnic group. The last of the sections characterizes the ethnic and socio-cultural specifics of the Roma family and an influence on the education of their children. The practical part presents a research focused on the practical experience of secondary school teachers in working with Roma pupils, which are useful of qualitative method. In the research part, there are objectives, questions, methodology and especially results of survey.

Annotation: My master's thesis deals with the gypsy children in schools. The main goal of the thesis was to find out success rate of gypsy pupils in finishing elementary schools and special classes by the elementary school, and to find out how teachers work with gypsy children and what the experience of teachers in working with gypsy kids are. The next part of my research focuses on gypsy pupils in the fifth grade and how they see their future and their prospects. In the end of my research focused on educational counseling I investigated how the educational counselor and teacher can influence education of a gypsy pupil in the school. The whole thesis is divided into four chapters. First three chapters are focused on theory. The first chapter is focused on the history and culture of Gypsies, their origin, traditional family relations and customs, music, language and their relation to the major society. The second chapter describes the younger school age, its maturity, physical, emotional and language development. It also deals with the development of cognitive processes, socialization and failing in school. The position of the Roma pupil in the classroom

Bachelor thesis examines the status of Roma in the Czech pupil school group. The survey was conducted through interviews with Roma students and the students of upper primary school, who testified about their experiences with classmates and teachers. In the research part were observed relationships between teachers and Roma pupils even their potentially different pedagogical approaches to the majority and minority pupils. Data collected from students was supplemented also with two interviews with the teacher, who work with Roma pupils. It was an interview with an educational conseulor and coordinator of the low-threshold club. The aim was to find out how they feel today Roma children in Czech schools and whether, in their opinion, these two groups together can share the common life on a friendly level.
