Bank risk mitigating tools in international trade

This thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and analytical. In the theoretical part, there are defined groups of risks related to doing business internationally and selected bank risk mitigating tools used as a protection against the risks mentioned. Specifically, there are discussed the most used types of bank guarantees, documentary collection and letter of credit. The second part of this thesis, analytical part, comprises of five business cases presenting adequate application of a bank guarantee instrument. Complex business case follows where various risks are analyzed from many angles. Analysis outcome is a recommendation of optimal business solution using a combination of various Trade Finance products.

International Trade Risks Insurance with a Focus on the Czech Insurance Market

The main topic of the thesis is the option of insurance in the international trade on the Czech insurance market. The insurance options are studied in a wider context. Firstly, the legal regulations of the insurance in our country and basic concepts are presented as well as some of the changes in regulations connected with the adoption of the new civil code. Secondly, types of insurance in the international trade and some international documents regulating insurance are mentioned. The last part deals with the development after the year 1989 and current situation on the Czech insurance market as well as with some of the largest insurance companies in our country.
EGAP a.s. - position and perspective

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to summarize performance and position of EGAP from the establishment to the present day and based on the previous results and analyzed surveys predict its future direction. The work is divided into five chapters. First describes the most common risks when exporting, second is devoted to export credit agencies in general and third monitors completely all activities of EGAP. In the fourth chapter surveys among czech exporters are analyzed and the last one summarizes current position of EGAP and estimates its future development.

The goal of the thesis is to evaluate effectiveness of bank instruments used in international trade to compare individual instruments as for advantages and disadvantages and to focus on their use in connection with other bank products. The thesis is divided in four main areas - risks in international trade, bank instruments, documents used in international trade and other bank products.
