Effectiveness and safety of biological therapy in inflammatory rheumatic diseases
Nekvindová, Lucie ; Závada, Jakub (advisor) ; Hendl, Jan (referee) ; Hrnčíř, Zbyněk (referee)
This thesis focuses on evaluating the effectiveness and safety of biological/targeted treatment in chronic inflammatory rheumatic diseases based on data from the ATTRA registry. The introductory chapters of the thesis give an overview of three rheumatic diseases - rheumatoid arthritis (RA), psoriatic arthritis (PsA) and axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA), characterising clinical manifestation, diagnosis, therapeutical options and current treatment guidelines. The work also contains a brief summary of information about planning, creating and maintaining a clinical registry and characterises specifics related to the analysis of registry data. The practical part of the thesis was aimed at two research questions. Recently, a treat-to-target (T2T) strategy was established for RA, PsA and axSpA. Studies from daily clinical practice concerning the advantage of following T2T over usual care are still lacking. Thus, the first goal of the thesis was to evaluate whether following a treat to target strategy after not reaching low disease activity within the first six months leads to a higher chance of meeting the treatment target at the twelve-month visit. Our second goal in the thesis was to evaluate the association between therapeutic response (achieving remission and drug retention) and patients'...

Remission of type 2 diabetes in patients on various dietary regimens
Kábelová, Adéla ; Krejčí, Hana (advisor) ; Šeda, Ondřej (referee)
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2D) is a highly prevalent metabolic disorder linked with the development of specific complications and comorbidities that negatively affect life quality and greatly increase the risk of an early death. The main goal of T2D treatment, which in common clinical practice comprises lifestyle changes and pharmacotherapy, is to delay onset of these complications. Evidence from many recent studies shows the ability of some interventional methods to induce remission of T2D, meaning a major improvement or complete disappearance of T2D symptoms. Besides bariatric surgery procedures, some dietary regimens such as low-energy diet, low-carbohydrate diet and intermittent fasting, can also lead to T2D remission. Attributes of these dietary regimens, especially their effect in T2D treatment, is summarized in the theoretical part of this theses. The aim of the practical part of this thesis was to assess the effect of the dietary regimens mentioned above on morphometric and biochemical parameters associated with T2D by clinical and survey research. In most of the subjects with T2D, the individual dietary regimens, more precisely low-energy diet and low-carbohydrate diet, decreased body weight, where the weight loss induced by low-carbohydrate diet was caused by major decrease in the amount...
Guilt - the view of the theological ethics
Novák, Robert ; Ovečka, Libor (advisor) ; Mašek, Vojtěch (referee)
This work examines from various points of view the role and signifikance of guilt within the history of humankind and a man, shows the traps and obstacles during its processing as well as the destructive consequences of the unprocessed guilt in life of every culpable human being and his/her relations with other people and the God. The first part is focused on its possible understanding and division within the framework of a certain philosophical thinking, first of all in the horizontal level of human relations. After the rational reflection of the subject of guilt and its systematical division within the philosophical thoughts follows up the vertical view of the faith upon the guilt as a sin in contributions of catholic theologists and the tradition of Magisterium in the following chapter. The third section, using a method of biblical exegesis, shows its effect and chances to overcome it with a help of God within the life stories of selected biblical characters of The Old and The New Testament. The last part of the work pays attention to the paradox of a "felix culpa" and the chances, that are offered to the culprits in the specific environment of a prison. The obtained knowledge is being confronted with the personal life experience of the author, who is dealing with his own guilt and a fatal...
Needs of patients with inflammatory bowel disease.
LIDOVÁ, Michaela
This bachelor thesis focuses on the needs of patients with inflammatory bowel disease. The principal types of inflammatory bowel disease are Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. According to some authors, it also includes indeterminate colitis, in which the specific disease cannot be clearly identified. These two diseases are among chronic inflammatory diseases of the digestive tract. They differ in the area of the infliction of the digestive tract. Crohn's disease affects any part of the digestive tract, while ulcerative colitis affects the rectum and the large intestine. Both diseases are manifested by the frequent painful emptying of the diurnal stool with the addition of blood during an acute outburst. It is important to diagnose the disease as soon as possible and to initiate early treatment. It is also very important to follow the management of the diet and to regularly visit the doctor. In the theoretical part, we also deal with a hierarchy of needs. It is essential for a nursing team to know the patient's needs. From this knowledge, the whole nursing process may continue to develop. If a patient suffers from some of the needs, it can have a significant impact on the mental, physical and social side of the person. In the practical part of the bachelor thesis we dealt with qualitative research. The research consisted of eight respondents who suffered from one of the inflammatory bowel disease. Semi-structured interviews were conducted on the basis of a stated goal: To map the needs of patients living with inflammatory bowel disease. The research was conducted in a domestic environment. Results from data collected from patients were categorized and then processed. According to our research, it is quite clear that the most important thing for these patients is to satisfy the need for emptying. This thesis will help students to get new information about the diseases in question and could also serve as a source of information for patients with newly diagnosed inflammatory bowel disease.
