Unconscious Religiousness from the Perspective of Selected Psyhological School
Řádková, Lucie ; Chlup, Radek (advisor) ; Halík, Tomáš (referee)
Currently, the popularity of spirituality is growing at the expense of institutional forms of religion. Spirituality is associated primarily with personal spiritual experiences, which can take various forms and draw from different sources. Bachelor thesis deals with the unconscious spirituality, which is defined as a hypothetical concept, on which we can conclude from various indirect expressions of human experience and behaviour. Indications of this concept can be found in the writings of the founder of analytical psychology C. G. Jung and the founder of existential analysis V. E. Frankl. Due to current shift of meaning of the concepts of spirituality and religiousness, the question is whether their theories can be applied to the contemporary situation and the concept of the unconscious spirituality. First are summarized current approaches and definitions of spirituality and religiousness. Attention is focused mainly on definitions of B. J. Zinnbauer and K. I. Pargament. Thesis continues with discussing basic notions and theoretical background of both psychological schools and also their approach to religion. These basic concepts are applied to the concept of unconscious spirituality with an attempt to further explanation. On the basis of the above mentioned application, both approaches are...
Spirituality and religiosity of students of helping professions (in cultures with Christian and Buddhist traditions)
ŠVEHLOVÁ, Blanka
The bachelor thesis called {\clq}qSpirituality and religiousness of students in helping professions (in cultures with Christian and Buddhist traditions) deals with an importance of a religion and a spiritual life for a choice as well as performance of helping professions. This thesis would like to draw an attention to the importance of spiritual dimensions both of clients and professionals in helping professions themselves. In the theoretical part I first focused on definitions of important concepts related to the topic. Further, I look at the spirituality as a part of a holistic conception of a man, which should be a basis for a successful care for the clients. There are also for me important questions, dealing with a motivation of students for the helping professions, to which I devote specifically from the perspective of Buddhism and Christianity. The Christian-Buddhist dialogue bears through the whole thesis. It builds, in the context of a globalized world, on the need of a mutual understanding and tolerance. Last, but not least I also included a chapter dealing with parallels between religious and psychotherapeutic effects. The research part of the thesis consists of a questionnaire survey, a secondary data analysis and a group interview with students of the University of South Bohemia, where the Czech part of the research was carried out. I also hold the questionnaire survey during my foreign intership in Chiang Mai University in Thailand. In the discussion, I come to conclusions which confirm that helping professions are still inseparably linked to a religious faith and spiritual values. The comparison of the Czech and Thai environments clearly shows a conservation of the traditional Buddhist society in contrast with the various, in relation to the religion not sharply defined, European country. The aim of the thesis is a description of the spiritual life, religiosity and spiritual needs of university students of helping professions compared to the Czech and Thai environment. To achieve this aim, I tried to link the theoretical foundations with the research part of the thesis. I believe that by processing this topic I can contribute to an emphasis of the human spiritual dimension in the therapeutic process. Though it is named in the holistic concept of a man, but then it does not usually acquire clearer outlines. This thesis would therefore like to point out a constant topicality of this theme.
Attitude of the Current Czech Society towards the Issue of the Decalogue
BOROVKOVÁ, Blanka
The thesis looks into the relationship of the current Czech society towards the issue of the Decalogue. The first two chapters deal with the theological-anthropological reflection on man in relation to human freedom and corresponding norms. The third part enquires into the problems of the Decalogue as a codex of ethical norms with regard to the biblical rootage, and ethical and catechistic features. Further, the work outlines the level of value orientation and religiousness of the current Czech society with reference to the European context. Following the findings and results of a research carried out at a public secondary school in České Budějovice, the fifth part reflects the position of the Decalogue in the society
