The impact of recent trends in dieting on consumer behaviour in Czech republic in marketing
Černý, Matej ; Koudelka, Jan (advisor) ; Zamazalová, Marcela (referee)
This diploma thesis analyses the impact of alternative trends in dieting on consumer behaviour in Czech Republic. Alternative diets and healthy lifestyle are nowadays very popular topics and a lot of consumers are changing their preferences towards alternative types of dining. These changes are affecting producers which need to adapt their supply to market needs which is also affecting their marketing orientation towards these consumers. The aim of this thesis is to review actual trends in dieting and to show their impact on consumer behaviour. The aim of the thesis is also to suggest marketing recommendations which are connected with new trends and evaluate financial burden of particular trends on consumers. The thesis is focused on detailed description of actual trends in dieting, health impacts connected with the new trends and their actual occurrence in Czech Republic. Analysis is based on qualitative research in the form of semi-structured interviews and quantitative research in the form of questionnaire. The MML-TGI data and actual research papers are also used in the thesis. Based on the semi-structured interview and method of open coding are uncovered important categories which are affecting particular consumers. Subsequently based on the multi-regression analysis is estimated the impact of particular trends in dieting on healthy lifestyle of consumers. The results show that actual trends have significant impact on orientation of consumers towards healthy lifestyle. Based on the multi-regression analysis also other factors affecting consumers in a way to live healthier are discovered. From the results can be seen that the alternative trends do not need to be automatically connected with higher financial burden. According to the research results are suggested complex marketing recommendations. Marketing recommendations are focused on effective promotion of products, potential business opportunities and recommendations how to approach the consumers.
New Ecological Paradigm as a research approach in the Czech Republic: An analysis of environmental attitudes of Czechs
Vaněk, Jiří ; Ščasný, Milan (advisor) ; Soukup, Petr (referee)
This thesis focus on the New Ecological Paradigm (NEP) and its measurement instrument New Ecological Paradigm scale. Thesis introduces the New Ecological Paradigm as opposite type of thinking to the Human Exemptionalism Paradigm and provides historical context of the creation of the revised version of the New Ecological Paradigm scale. We carried out a secondary analysis of the data from survey about the European climate change policy acceptance conducted by Ščasný et al in year 2015. Thesis then examined the extent to which people from the Czech Republic, the Great Britain and the Poland endorse the New Ecological Paradigm and found out that the Czechs have the higher environmental concern than people from the Great Britain and the Poland. Furthermore, this thesis use Cronbach`s and factor analysis to discover, that the New ecological paradigm scale is internally consistent yet multidimensional instrument in case of the three surveyed countries. Regression analysis discovered that not only gender and age are significant socio-demographic predictors for the NEP results as income, education, size of municipality and current occupation are also relevant across the three surveyed countries. Lastly, regression analysis verified that the direct correlation between the general environmental values measured by the...
Impact of economic crisis on fertility level in EU member states
Kortanová, Jana ; Kocourková, Jiřina (advisor) ; Šťastná, Anna (referee) ; Černíková, Alena (referee)
Impact of economic crisis on fertility level in EU member states Abstract The aim of this diploma thesis is to provide a detailed development overview of the selected indicators, i.e., GDP per capita, unemployment rate and total fertility rate, in the context of the Global Economic Crisis, which, on a European scale, started in 2008, and evaluate the impact of the crisis on fertility levels across EU countries. The diploma thesis further concerns itself with various approaches to the relation between economic development and fertility, briefly with the causes of the Global Economic Crisis and with family policy measures in response to worsening economic conditions. Using cluster and regression analyses, the relationship between the economic indicators and total fertility rates in relation to the onset of the crisis has been examined. Even though total fertility rates of individual EU countries were affected differently by the change of economic conditions, the results indicate that changes in unemployment rates affect fertility levels. The decline in fertility levels during the crisis, which occurred in most of the examined countries, is certainly the result of a large number of factors affecting reproductive behaviour. Nevertheless, the results suggest that the symptoms of the crisis significantly...
Czech Commercial Banks' Net Interest Margin Analysis with Regards to the Changes of Recent Years
Brousil, Martin ; Teplý, Petr (advisor) ; Katuščáková, Dominika (referee)
Czech Commercial Banks' Net Interest Margin Analysis with Regards to the Changes of Recent Years Bachelor thesis Martin Brousil Abstract The rapid development of digital technologies in recent years has influenced the whole business world, with the banking industry being no exception. For banks, it has brought many advantages, such as greater cost efficiency or higher availability of information about clients, but also new challenges for their business models and a growing number of direct and indirect competitors. This thesis analyzes the most salient trends present in the industry: the digitalization of banking, the growing competition, a shift in customer preferences and the stricter regulation of the banking business. Further, it focuses on the decreasing interest rate margin of Czech banks and attempts to find its causes. The size of bank, its cost efficiency and operational risks are identified as important determinants of the margin and also GDP growth and the degree of competition within the sector are found to play their roles in the determining process. At the end, the results are used and the qualitative and quantitative trends are linked together, since, as the author argues, a close relationship between them exists. Keywords Banking, Clients' Preferences, Competition, Digitalization, Regulatory...

Title: Influence of selected conditional factors on performance in white water slalom. Aims: The aim of the study was to investigate the relationship of selected specific movement abilities being examined modified test battery with the performance of athletes in the water slalom. Methods: It was used field measurements where the applied modified test battery. Using GPS module to determine the distance partial tests from batery. For measuring was used manual measurement. To determine the statistical correlation between the modified battery and performance ability of competitors was used two different coefficients of correlation and regression analysis. According to the order of the test and the race was used nonparametric correlation study - Spearman correlation coefficient. Determining the statistical significance of the relationship of measured times in tests and final time in the nomination races have used the Pearson correlation coefficient. Results: For a statistically significant relationship was determined value when r ≥ 0.8. Spearman's correlation coefficient: In the test at 40 m were obtained these correlation coefficients: Nomination races rs = 0,380952, Czech cup rs = 0,595238. In the test at 80 meters they were obtained these correlation coefficients: nomination races rs = 0,857143,...
Regression models and their teaching

Title: "Regression models and their teaching" Author: Mgr. Marian Rybář Department: Department of Mathematics Education Abstract: Regression models and their outputs have a huge utilization not only in the field of medicine, science and managerial decision-making but also in many other fields. From the math didactics point of view is a question of intelligible explanation of regression models to non- math students very topical and exploitable theme. The main problem is an understandable explanation of this topic to statistics schooling members with minimal math application. These people aren't usually math or technical branch alumni, but they use regression models in their work. This work tries to suggest simply and clearly explanation of regression models on particular examples. Practical examples show the effects of the most common mistakes that are made by laymen in application of regression models. The main output of this work is a set of examples that could be used in regression models schooling. Keywords: regression models, regression analysis, didactics, teaching

Car demand modelling in the Czech Republic
Rückl, Adam ; Pertold-Gebicka, Barbara (advisor) ; Čech, František (referee)
The main purpose of this thesis is to construct a model of passenger cars demand and estimate it using data on new car registrations from the Czech Republic. The constructed model takes into account factors affecting not only the demand, but also the supply, as both of these variables form a simultaneous equations system. In order to estimate the model consistently, the econometric theory of simultaneous equations model is presented. At first the basic notations are introduced, the inconsistency of ordinary least squares estimates is proved and consistent methods of estimation are described, notably the two stage least squares and the indirect least squares methods. Observation of the data suggests that new passenger cars registrations in the Czech Republic were influenced by a specific taxation policy, which up to April 2009 did not allow the value added tax deduction in case of passenger cars. A large proportion of passenger cars were therefore registered as light utility vehicles. This fact has to be taken into account when studying the passenger cars demand. Results of the estimation by the two stage least squares method showed that the demand for new passenger in the Czech Republic is elastic in price and income. Significant sensitivity of the demand was observed also with respect to used cars...
