Equal Treatment and Discrimination in Labor-Law Relationships

of the rigorosum thesis "Equal Treatment and Discrimination in Labor-Law Relationships" The aim of this thesis is to ascertain how effective the anti-discrimination law in labor-law relationships on the level of international, EU, and Czech national law is. Next, if needed and based on the findings also to propose effective and just changes of law or an adoption of extralegal measures. The structure of the thesis corresponds to its aims. In the first chapter, basic terms used in the anti- discrimination law area are defined. In the second chapter, I introduce the (for me) most compelling conception of moral justification of the prohibition of discrimination in any normative system. The third chapter describes, analyzes and partly also criticizes the valid law on the above mentioned three levels of law (international, EU, Czech). In the fourth chapter, I mention methods by the use of which one can estimate the extent of discrimination in certain area. The fifth chapter enumerates typical causes of or motivation behind discriminatory treatment, which are in particular prejudice and conformity. In the last chapter, I propose certain changes of the complaint mechanism and adoption of reasonable accommodation and soft quotas mechanisms. 6 Title of the Thesis: Equal Treatment and Discrimination in Labor-Law Relationships Summary of the Thesis: The aim of this thesis is to ascertain the level of effectiveness of anti-discrimination law in labor-law relationships on the level of international, EU, and Czech national law. Next, if needed and based on the findings to propose effective and just changes of law or an adoption of extralegal measures. The structure of the thesis corresponds to its aims. In the first chapter, basic terms used in the anti-discrimination law area are defined. In the second chapter, I introduce the (for me) most compelling conception of moral justification of the prohibition of discrimination in any normative system. The thesis includes this chapter because an express elaboration of such a conception is a necessary starting point for the formulation of a just solution to discrimination. The third chapter describes, analyzes and partly also criticizes the valid law on the above mentioned three levels of law (international, EU, Czech). In the fourth chapter, I mention methods by the use of which one can estimate the extent of discrimination in certain area. Analysis of sugar industry in 2004-2016 in Czech Republic

The aim of this thesis is to analyse sugar industry in 2004-2016. This work examines the influence of the Czech accession to the EU on sugar industry development. The theoretical part deals with an explanation of basic terminology and theories such as production quotas, protectionism, grants or interest groups. This work aims to find out whether the Czech EU accession did or did not do harm to the Czech sugar industry. The main objective of the practical part follows the development of production quotas, prices of sugar and sugar industry in general. Besides other things, this thesis also focuses on the time period before 2004. The Czech Republic is one of the first former socialist states to implement completely regulated sugar market. This work ascertains that rather than by the Czech EU accession, the Czech sugar industry was harmed by historical development, thus mostly by the processes in the 90s when plenty of Czech sugar refineries could not manage the pressure of market environment.

The influence of factors at produce starch of potato

The thesis is focused on the factors influencing the production of starch potatoes. These factors include the influence of variety, seed, soil, stress, fertilization, climatic conditions and weather. The work also provides basic information about potatoes, the history of the potato and its importance, the use of potatoes, the biological characteristics, morphology and chemical composition of potatoes. There is also an evaluation of the economics for potato starch processing.

Sugar régime within The Common Agricultural Policy of the European Union

The goal of my essay is to map out the sugar régime within the European Union as well as the Czech Republic in the context of The Common Agricultural Policy together with historical consequences. My essay will provide basic information about the development and situation concerning The Common Agricultural Policy. The essay deals also with the development and present conditions regarding sugar production which is one of the parts within this policy in the EU. The Czech Republic as a member country of the EU is in my essay described mainly in compliance with the criteria of The Common Agricultural Policy especially concerning sugar production as well as the development of sugar industry from historical point of view and regarding European circumstances in this branch as well. Thanks to my essay the reader can also get essential knowledge about sugar production as well foreign trade with this commodity both in the Czech Republic and within the European Union.
