The Role and Contribution of Prison Chaplains in the Process of Development and Reintegration of Convicts

The diploma thesis analyses the work and contribution of clergymen in the Prison Service of the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of the thesis presents the role of the chaplains in the prison environment, it also deals with its historical development and key moments in history that have influenced the contemporary form of spiritual care of convicts. The theoretical part also presents an enumeration of the possibilities and specifics of development and education of convicts in the prison care system and the system of functioning of the educational and developmental system available to convicts during their sentence. It is within this spectrum of activities and activities that the role of spiritual care is further embedded in the theoretical part. Further, the theory articulates the impact of spiritual care on the lives of convicts and the experience of punishment. The theoretical part concludes with a comparison of the Czech and international context of chaplaincy and clerical activities, as well as post-penitentiary care, in which the thesis presents the specifics and methods of clerical work in the reintegration of convicts back into society. Passivity and Activity in Education

The submitted diploma thesis, entitled "Passivity and activity in education", is focused on the issue of passivity and activity in education from the perspective of leisure time in Světlá nad Sázavou Prison. The first part clarifies the key concepts and discusses the philosophy of education. Furthermore, there is a defined issue of leisure time associated with passivity and activity in education in leisure time. The second part of the work is devoted to the results of quantitative and qualitative research. The aim of the work was to describe, on the basis of quantitative and qualitative research, how free time works in the Světlá nad Sázavou prison. The work presents the possibilities of spending free time in the prison environment in terms of passivity and activity. Leisure time is examined here by prison staff, which was a preliminary research. The aim was to find out how free time of convicted women in prison is. Based on this preliminary research, a questionnaire was then compiled, which was submitted to convicted women serving a prison sentence in Světlá nad Sázavou Prison. Where the main goal was to find out how women spend their free time in terms of passivity and activity. The results of the research of this work could serve as a basis for further research on leisure time in the prison environment. I also consider it desirable that, on the basis of this work, everyone can get a closer picture of their free time in prison. This work can inform about how it would be possible to work with convicts in prison even better on the basis of leisure activities.

Penitentiary system of the Czech Republic - presence and future

The diploma thesis deals with the penitentiary system of the Czech Republic. It contains a brief excursion into the past of the Czech penitentiary system, i.e. the history of punishment in our territory. Attention is paid to the present penitentiary system of the Czech Republic, legislative development, problematic legal regulation, its impact on practice, as well as to the view to the future (within the frame of the new Czech penitentiary system conception). The diploma thesis represents the functioning of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic, its tasks and aims. The last chapter of the theoretical part is devoted to the future of the Czech penitentiary system, especially to changes in the external differentiation of prisons. The practical part of the thesis is a qualitative research survey (structured interviews with employees of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic). It maps the attitude of Prison Service employees to the existing penitentiary system and to legislative adjustments effective from October 2017. The diploma thesis deals with the issue of further professional education of professional employees working in the Prison Service of the Czech Republic (VS ČR) and the possibilities of its development. The aim of the diploma thesis is to conceptualize and characterize further vocational education, with emphasis on the analysis and identification of educational needs and motivation of professionals to continue their education. Furthermore, to carry out research aimed at monitoring the use of methods and forms of education and development of employees. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis deals with the definition and relationship of basic concepts in the field of further education, systematic education, analysis of educational needs, organizational structure of VS ČR, description of selected aspects of further vocational education in the context of lifelong learning. Attention is paid to the system of education, structure and identification of educational needs in the field of public administration in the Czech Republic. 1 The therapeutic and educational approaches in forensic detention Autor: Mgr. Dušan Gáč Annotation The Forensic detention measure has not long tradition in the Czech Republic. It is a relatively new institution which exists in the Czech Republic as a protective measure since 2009. In this year the Act of Forensic Detention No. 129/2008 has become it's legitimacy. Experts as psychologists, pedagogues, jurists, psychiatrists and others participated on the establishment of the forensic detention measure. The main reason of this act was that the placement of extremely dangerous perpetrators in psychiatric hospitals had not met the safety criteria, and because the requirement for sophisticated protection of the society in connection with the proper professional care and treatment was not fulfilled. Consequently after the decade of existence of the Forensic detention facility in Brno the author of this rigorous thesis named ,,The therapeutic and educational approaches in forensic detention " balances the positives and negatives in work with detainees and implies the trend and approximative prognosis of its next development. Opinions of the Public on the Institute of Security Forces of the Czech Republic

The aim of the thesis was to find out and evaluate opinions of the public on the institute of security forces of the Czech Republic. The theoretical part describes activities and the impact of each security body. In theoretical parts I followed up the description of activities and by the instrumentality of single security forces. Further I deal with already prepared research about public opinion upon this subject. In practical parts of the thesis was done quantitative research. All the required information was gained through a method interview and the questionnaire technique. Experimental set was formed by respondents from the general public.

Among prisoners and the Prison Service staff are examined views on psycho-social hygiene in prison in České Budějovice and Příbram prison and quality of life prisoners subject to health.
