The Expansion of Czech Capital to Serbia in 1900-1918 and its Political Aspects: The Case of Pražská úvěrní banka
Arlt, Jan ; Šístek, František (advisor) ; Velek, Luboš (referee)
This work is devoted to the export of Czech financial capital by nationally Czech banks to the Kingdom of Serbia between 1900 and 1918 and the political aspects of their activities there. The political side of these activities, which was strongly determined by the geopolitical circumstances of the time, especially the deteriorating relations between Austria-Hungary and Serbia and the subsequent outbreak of the First World War, is examined here in the case of the most successful Czech financial institution operating in this Balkan state, Pražská úvěrní banka. The involvement of this institution in political activities, which include, among other things, the connections of the representatives of its branch in Belgrade to the so-called "Serbophile" movement, and their consequences after the occupation of Serbia by the armies of the Central Powers during the First World War, are illustrated here mainly by the interesting personal stories of specific actors of capital export and members of the Czech emancipation movement.
Výroba piv s ovocnou příchutí a jejich senzorické hodnocení
Burianová, Eva
The theoretical part is focused on the description of the raw materials that are necessary for the production of beer with a fruit component. The beer production technology is outlined. Breweries and microbreweries that offer fruit beer in their portfolio are also mapped in the literature research. The practical part was focused on the production of fruit beer, when a beer containing basic ingredients (malt, hops, yeast, water) was produced and a fruit compo-nent in the form of puree (passion fruit, mango) was subsequently added to it. The beer was subsequently subjected to analytical and sensorial evaluation. For all samples, the volume and weight alcohol content, real and apparent extract and original wort extract were deter-mined using the FermentoFlasher device. As part of the sensory analysis, when appearance, drinkability, aroma and taste were evaluated, samples flavored with passion fruit achieved the best results.

Forman, Martin ; Květoň, Viktor (advisor) ; Slach, Ondřej (referee)
Over the last ten years the phenomenon of opening new microbreweries has reached Czechia. Since 2008 more than 350 new microbreweries have been opened and the map of breweries has recorded significant changes. Regarding these facts the main goals of this thesis were to analyze the brewing industry in Czechia in the context of ownership structure, concentration tendencies and mergers and acquisitions activity. First part focuses on the characteristics of the breweries' geographical layout related to the ownership structure and size based on annual beer production and in context of selected socioeconomic indicators. Following this part is an analysis of decomposition with use of concentration and cluster ratios. This part aims on cluster forming tendencies of brewing companies. The analytical part is completed with mergers and acquisitions characteristics in this industry sector. The basic figures and signs of the geographical decompositions were identified based on selected analytical methods and complex maps. Several concentration zones where breweries tend to cluster were labeled using the cluster analysis. Mergers and acquisitions reveal the difference in integration activity according to the brewery size. Key words: brewing industry, breweries, ownership structure, concentration, cluster, Czechia

Two breweries operating in the territory of the Czech Republic, in the Pardubice region, were selected for the survey. It was the Municipal Brewery in Polička, a.s. and the Brewery Rychtář, a.s., Hlinsko v Čechách. It was targeted at the management of breweries. Qualitative methods were used to collect data, including qualitative interviewing with the above-mentioned research sample, texts and documents, and field research supplemented by web pages. Subsequently, obtained data was analyzed, interpreted and evaluated. On the basis of the stated goal, the declared strategy of selected breweries was established. According to the literary research, Porter's generic strategies have been used as a type of strategy used in all the selected literature to incorporate the strategy of breweries. The declared strategy of breweries was tended to a differentiation strategy aimed at a wide range of customers. Subsequently, the real fulfillment of the declared business strategy of each brewery was verified. It was found that the declared strategy was largely in agreement with its fulfillment, for both selected breweries. There were no significant differences for each brewery. The benefit of this work was mainly focused on the management of selected breweries, who did not think about their strategies in this way.
