A set of multifunctional home Břeclav, street U Nemocnice - preparation and organization of construction
Janík, Lukáš ; Mohapl,, Martin (referee) ; Šlanhof, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis is elaborated for the preparation and organization of the construction of multi-functional home for hospital in Breclav. It is a complex of three buildings of which the first two are terraced houses and a third garage. Individual objects are divided into units according to the expansion section. My job is processed for the object SO02 - section 4.5. The supporting system consists of reinforced concrete columns and ceilings filled with bricks Porotherm. The roof is designed as a horizontal single casing.
The Case
Svobodová, Hana ; Šrek Bromová, Veronika (referee) ; Gabriel, Michal (advisor)
I assume huddled topic that I put into my past work as well as in final work. Casting my body, which is covered with feathers and create a cocoon of him, husk without the interior. Sculpture has two sides, the principle of duality, femininity and counterpart. Outer packaging evokes pleasant birdlike body surface and in the inner part aggressively squeeze ends of the wicks feathers.
Construction technological project of residential building in Liberec
Plachý, Jakub ; Hrdličková, Eliška (referee) ; Novotný, Michal (advisor)
This diploma thesis deal with phase of construction, which is foundation and upper construction of apartment building Komenského in Liberec. Building is situated in built-up and green area. Foundation circumstances is half difficult because of lower water included in soil. In this phase, we use formowork for columns, walls and roof. Used formwork is from Peri company, Quatro, Trio and Multiflex. There is suteren in the house, and because of lower water and high index of radon, we have to protect structure by compact waterproof isolation. This project contains formwork schematics and the time calculation needed to protect concrete until accomplishment. Other task is thermal review of constructions.
COAT
Svobodová, Hana ; Pangrácová, Lucie (referee) ; Gabriel, Michal (advisor)
Although the main topic of my diploma thesis is Kabát, I describe in the introductory chapters of my previous work, because their creation and gradual emergence have been directed towards the final project - Kabát. As part of my sculpture, I concentrate mainly on the possibilities of transforming the human figure, using various classical and non-traditional sculptural materials. The fabric of a selected piece of clothing (in the case of a coat) is reinforced at a certain point in time, which I transposed into the feathered cavity - the coat that you put before you. His work with the "outer envelope of man" in the final passage of the text corresponds to the work of Czech and foreign artists.

Determination of selected heavy metals in samples of great tits feathers by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry
Adamová, Simona ; Hraníček, Jakub (advisor) ; Kozlík, Petr (referee)
EN As a result of human activity, a number of polluting substances are released into the environment. Heavy metals are one of the types of these contaminants. Their accumulation in the environment can have a negative impact on living organisms, including humans. For this reason, environment quality monitoring has become an important activity. Great tit (Parus major) can be a suitable bioindicator of the level of environmental contamination by heavy metals, which is acceptable mainly due to its abundance and occurrence in the vicinity of human settlements. This diploma thesis deals with the determination of six selected heavy metals in feather samples of these songbirds from several parts of the Czech Republic and other European countries. High pressure microwave mineralization in the presence of acids was used to prepare the samples. Selected heavy metals were determined using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) technique, which is also suitable for ultratrace analysis due its very low limits of detection.
Diversity and evolutionary significance of feather-degrading bacteria in birds
Kyptová, Markéta ; Javůrková, Veronika (advisor) ; Reif, Jiří (referee)
Although to date this fact has been widely neglected, avian plumage is inhabited by a wide range of bacteria able to utilize keratin, the basic structural unit of feathers. If these keratinophilic, so called feather-degrading bacteria (hereafter FDB) get out of control, it can lead to significant changes in the plumage structural properties, resulting in impaired thermoregulation, flight performance, and expression of plumage ornaments. These may have significant consequences on reproductive success and overall fitness of individual. Based on these facts, it is hypothesized that PDB pose strong selective pressure lying behind the evolution of defense mechanisms such as size and chemical composition of uropygial gland, deposition of pigments into the feathers, or molting strategies that have been observed to eliminate the negative effect of FDB. The aims of this bachelor thesis are, on the basis of available literature, to summarize findings related to overall diversity and characteristics of plumage bacteria, to evaluate their effect on quality of plumage and individual fitness, and also to assess a role of microorganism in the evolution of different life- strategies in birds. Finally, this bachelor thesis points out the shortcomings of recent studies and proposes the concept for future research...
Sex Determination in Long-eared Owl (Asio otus) by means of PCR DNA amplification
Pecharová, Šárka ; Řezníček, Jan (advisor) ; Hačecká, Kristýna (referee)
This thesis is focused on determining the sex of the Long-eared Owl (Asio otus). Bird feathers were used during determination that were taken from owl`s back while capturing and ringing. We have attempted to differentiate the sex of captured Long-eared Owl by DNA isolation from blood platelets in the bird quail and subsequent PCR reaction. This thesis also describes the PCR method, which is one of the most used methods in the todays laboratories of many different field of science. I also mention the individual components that are needed for the process of this reaction, its history and its individual steps. Part of my diploma thesis is also the characteristic of the tested order and possible gender division based on morphological features. On this basis, there is also mention of the sexual dimorphism of birds, their plumage and its subsequent coloring. At birds and also at other animals are used different techniques of molecular determination of sex, which I also refer to in my work. Keywords Long-eared Owl (Asio otus), sex, chromosomes, feathers, colour, PCR, DNA
Differences of duck, goose and eider feather from the perspective of a laborant technician
TOMÁŠKOVÁ, Anna
My bachelor thesis deals with the difference between goose, duck and eider feather. The main focus is aimed on laboratory testing; therefore no survey was carried out. The research was performed at the company Kamýk Daunen s.r.o., based in Kamýk nad Vltavou. Kamyk Daunen deals with the processing of goose and duck feather for production of feather and down filled products, duvets, pillows and mattress toppers in particular. The theoretical part of this thesis is a study of the following duck and goose species and their down and feather: Peking duck, Czech goose, Snow goose and the Common eider, and the impact of the specific feather and down of these species on human. As well as the production of feather in general. In the practical part we perform laboratory measurements of fat and oil content, humidity, oxidation number, fill power, turbidity and pH when goose, duck and eider feather with different down content are compared. The aim of my bachelor thesis is to write a specialized research on a given topic, summarize notes about the production and acquisition of feather, and to pursue laboratory methods that are applicable in this case. The main aim of the thesis is to discover, which type of feather is most suitable for quality daily sleep. As indicated before, there are several different kinds of feather that are used as a filling material for feather filled products. We have examined the difference between goose, duck and eider feather. As for the goose feather we had used feather from a goose of Czech goose and Snow goose breeds. For duck feather we have opted for the Peking duck and the eider was the Common eider.
