Restoration of the chateau and manor house in Vážany nad Litavou
Machová, Kamila ; Marek, Jiří (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor) ; Struhala, Karel (advisor)
This work aims to restore the castle and the manor house in Vážany nad Litavou. This building is located in the centre of the southern part of the village of Vážany nad Litavou, on the main street. The building is situated roughly in the middle of a series of estates on the west side of this street. The building is a rugged corner building. The building is not a cultural monument, but as part of this work, we try to treat the building as if it were a cultural monument. The history of the building is not well documented and the first written references date back to 1643. In the 16th century, the Jesuits built not only an economic building in Vážany nad Litavou but also a chateau in the corner position, which is partly palatial and partly ground floor. In the 19th century, the castle is transformed into a classical castle. After 1945, the entire facility was confiscated and forfeited to the state. Five years later, the newly established single agricultural cooperative was put into administration. Cooperative offices were created in the building and two housing units were created on the floor, which later replaced only storage space. Today, the castle building serves the needs of various private institutions and has remained as it was acquired during the early 19th century. My prosal aims to restore the structure to serve the public again. Interference with the exterior appearance from the aisle section will be demonstrated by replacing and increasing the rafters in the right and left wings of the building, replacing roofing, adding roof windows and replacing existing windows with six-table windows. The building gets a new facade. The appearance of the building from the side of the yard will be complemented by a rectangular extension of steel with a glass facade and decorated art stained glass. This addition will include a new staircase.

Dočekalová, Veronika ; Eichlerová, Eva (referee) ; Ponešová, Barbora (advisor)

This South Moravian rural area located near the Austria–Czech Republic border may currently be considered as a No man's land. Given the subject of the thesis, the author suggests the conceptual solution of this problem. Focusing on the life in a border region analyses offer of the local development, amenities and opportunities, not forgetting about the education. The work suggests an entirely new local education system from the very beginning - from kindergartens to secondary education. The missing high school forces students to travel or to move to nearby towns such as Znojmo. what usually leads to their breakaway from the local environment. This could be avoided by building a new secondary school in Jaroslavice. It would link to the rich history of this village from the pre-war period, when it was considered an important transition point between the cities of Brno and Vienna. Besides, Czech-German school can re-establish mutual cooperation between both countries. Designated school is based on a current education needs, e.g. practical training experiences in local businesses, which is costs saving and immediately applicable. The subject of this thesis is placed into the area of the ruined mansion under the local castle. Besides school, there is also Food Center and Research Institute. All three institutions cooperate together, similarly to the concept of manor court (meierhof) in the past. Educational facilities are arranged in U-shape form with the inner courtyard and the large greenhouse on one side. Each wing of the building is self-sufficient and has a different character. The west wing is two-storey, on the ground floor there is a library with classrooms for social sciences and the heart of the house - room for theatre and performances. On the second floor there is a school headquarters facing the courtyard with the ability to check the daily routine. The central wing with entrance consists of classrooms of natural sciences and another social science classrooms located towards the courtyard for eventual outdoor lessons. Last part consists of computer classrooms made for the technical sciences. This wing leads to the lower floor with side entrance to a parking lot. Greenhouse, designed for both the public and the students, is an inseparable part of the school.
Restoration of the chateau and manor house in Vážany nad Litavou
Raková, Markéta ; Špiller, Martin (referee) ; Guzdek, Adam (advisor) ; Daněk, Lukáš (advisor)
The topic of the bachelor’s thesis is the restoration of the chateau and manor courtyard in Vážany nad Litavou. Its goal was to prepare documentation for the building permit and parts of the documentation for the construction based on an architectural study which was made in the subject AG033 - Restoration of Monuments Studio. The chateau with the manor courtyard is located in the southern part of the municipality in the immediate vicinity of the centre and is counted among the oldest buildings in the village. Its construction began in the second part of the 16th century, the oldest surviving structures date back to the Renaissance period. The design puts emphasis on the preservation of the historical and architectural essence and the current character of the building in the most coherent form. The quality and state of repair of individual layers were examined. Part of the restoration concept also covered the reflection about the appropriate use of the discussed building. The building should serve as the municipal authority connected to the library and should also provide facilities for organizations and associations that function in the village (Community centre, Primary Art School Slavkov, breeders, hunters, etc.). The new function of the building responds to the existing unsatisfactory space of the library and the municipal office, which are currently located in a terraced house. The municipality was forced to solve this insufficient space by extensions to the house’s yard. Furthermore, the design responds to the needs of the residents who would welcome more events and activities for children and youth in the village. Thanks to the location of the building in the village centre and this new functional use, a new central public space for all events in the municipality would be created in Vážany nad Litavou.
